I come from the opposite position. Even central Nightwake seems rather antiquated compared to what I am familiar with. I come from a civilization that have built their homes on many worlds, who have traveled on ships through the sky. Largely, most human societies no longer use money on a day to day basis, except for rare goods and luxuries. It was a surprise to see basic goods trading for currency.

I learned recently that most humans here do not even live to see one hundred years. It was chilling, in a way. But perhaps the knowledge that there will yet be greater horizons to reach in the future is comforting knowledge to you. It's a fond hope of mine, as well.
