[The screen opens to the sight of Barghest dressed like a park ranger and standing in front of a truck carrying what appears to be a huge cannon.]

Greetings Ellipsa, this is Barghest speaking. I'm making this post for multiple reasons, the chief of which being to inform my friends and loved ones that I'm back after my sudden absence. Evangeline, Rider, Chipp, Farja, I would like to meet up with you as soon as I can.

The second reason is to announce the change in my username. I no longer have need of the name Gawain, so from now on I will be going by Barghest alone.

The third and final announcement is that, as the captain of the Union Defense Knights, I will be taking on the volunteer position of firefighter wherever it is needed, in wild or urban environments. If you see a fire and there isn't anyone on hand who can handle it, please don't hesitate to call me.

[She knocks on the truck's side, changing the camera angle to reveal pumps hooked up to the truck's massive cannon. It is, apparently, a firetruck.]

Huh... so you're just kinda stuck because your timelines were bad?

"Stuck" isn't the word I would use. Servants are merely imprints of our original selves. We're not elsewhere waiting for our chance before we're summoned, we don't exist at all. It's like filling a mold.

Being a Servant sounds like it sucks. No offence.

It's not so bad if you have a good Master, but... none taken. It is a severely limited form of existence. There is a reason polls say the most common wish Chaldea's Servants would have for a Grail is incarnation.

I think anyone would want that if they couldn't live normally.

Well, it is still better than just not living at all.

Yeah, that's true! I think that's a good way to think about it. It's positive!

Personally, I don't mind it all that much. Being a Servant has brought me options and opportunities that I never had while I was alive.

Really? Like firefighting?

[houndofmanchester]

I suppose so, Fairy Britain didn't have that level of technology. But what I really meant was that being a Servant has allowed me to exist in better places than there, like Chaldea and Ellipsa. I've done things I never could have imagined when I was alive, and met people that changed this new life of mine completely.

That's great! So even if you got created to be summoned, you're still able to be happy! That's the most important thing in the world!

Yes, while I do wish this could have happened while I was alive, I'm also aware of all the reasons it couldn't have.
