Are you immortal normally?

Mmm, I should probably rephrase - I'd never completely ignore a stab wound. I just. Might. Not. Prioritise it? Depending on the severity and the context ...

... That probably still sounds bad, doesn't it? Uhm. Hm. Anyway, no, I'm as mortal as they come.

Then it sounds incredibly bad. I've seen immortals treat them more seriously and that's just because they hurt over being a potential threat.

Whew. Uhm. Anyway! I'll keep that in mind. Genuinely. I'm too close to having my "the sensible one" card revoked.

I have yet to see where you're the sensible one.

I know what they say about first impressions being most important, but keep in mind, you have only known me for ten —

You said something about ... quests? Earlier? What's all that about? They sound refreshingly optional.

They are. They're freelance work that usually includes either going into the wilderness or fighting monsters, at least if you want to get paid a worthwhile amount.

Paid?

As in-

As in, actual compensation for services rendered?

Yes. Yes, you get paid. They really don't know any pacifying techniques in these other places, do they?

Uhm. Some probably did? Maybe? Whether or not they care is another matter, and others probably were just straight up too confident to think they needed to bother...

Amnesia, though. I don't remember a lot about that side of it.

That is pure foolishness. First world of any domination plots is to have a plan to pacify the population in some way. That many people trying to figure out your downfall will eventually come up with something.

That also seems disturbingly common.

Does it still count as world domination if it's towards a few dozen to maybe a hundred people?

The amnesia thing, though. That one's usually something to do with our souls. Souls shattered by... in, something something void? Souls being snacked on by a snake god. Like that.

Hm, no, not really. That's just mass kidnapping.

Well, that's concerning. The souls should be more robust than that.

Yes. To destroy a soul would mean being able to destroy an essential part of the universe.

You know, now that you mention it, I think there was something about multiversal destruction. It sounds familiar.

That sort of thing should not be allowed to run around unrestrained.

And then I realised that I don't know for sure if I can get those memories back while I'm here. It could go either way.

I suppose it depends. I already have a project having to do with regaining lost memories as is, so I suppose it wouldn't hurt to share the results.

Oh. [ Well, there are other people here with similar experience to hers ... Unless it's something else? Memory problems can happen for all sorts of different reasons. ] I'd be grateful. Thank you.
