[It hasn't been that long since he last appeared, yet here he is again. It's not entirely normal for Sylus to show his face so much but this time he has a reason far more demanding than talking about flowers.]

I have a proposition, to be extended to any interested parties.

[His voice is soft, low, his tone languid and relaxed.]

In a few days from now I will be striking at the Heart gang's central base of operations. [A beat. There's a click off-screen. Anyone familiar with the sound would identify it as a magazine being slid into a gun.] My targets will be their leaders, with the intention of taking them out.

[He says it so casually.]

The practices of the group are abhorrent and cannot be permitted to continue. The purpose of bringing this to the attention of all Otherworlders is to give any the opportunity to join me in the assault.

[Sylus is very sure that this will be of interest to some people. While he could manage his goals alone, what's the harm in causing some well-placed diversions? A set of coordinates in Nightwake City Centre are attached.]

I will be at the attached coordinates at ten PM, three days from the date of this message. If you intend to come along, be there.

[Because he's not going to be able to be talked out of it. If there was a risk of that, he wouldn't be making his intentions public.]

And I'm not offering a plan, I'm offering an opportunity. I'll be going ahead whether people decide they're coming or not.

[The concealed speakers of his mask lend his voice a soft electric distortion. His tone is neutral as he asks:]

[There are a lot of things he can let slide and would be a hypocrite if he didn't. Some things, however, he draws the line on.]

...I see. I believe in enacting justice.

[This might come as a surprise and he's privating this for a reason. But his voice still keeps his quiet tone but there's something almost clipped in how he speaks.]

What do you need from me?

[Hm, interesting.]

I can assist in the assault. I can take care of the research data the Hearts Gang has. That data is valuable.

I'd like to know what you mean by 'take care of'. You should understand that I have no intentions of allowing their research to fall into the hands of individuals who would continue their work.

I'll make the place a crater first.

Destroying the data on their monster transformation research and distribution of tainted objects and foods would just leave them out there to affect others.

Reverse engineering a cure for these transformations is possible but I would need the data.

And you have the means to ensure that it doesn't fall out of your hands as easily as it fell into them?

I've seen and taken care of patients who were affected by the Hearts gang. They remind me of a certain group who push for human evolution that tends to cause more harm than good.

[They both know who.]

If it ends with their downfall, I would be satisfied with that.

[Loading the gun as if he's about to rush into the Heart Gang's lair and start blasting is a little edgy in Hijikata's book, but hell, it's not like he hasn't taken a big bite out of a mayonnaise sandwich in front of an explosion before (... clearly, this is just about the same thing), and more importantly, the man is spearheading a worthy cause!

He's actually pretty damn grateful to find an exciting undertaking for the SPOON to engage on, given that ever since its detachment from the NCPD, it's had to operate strictly outside of the police's remit, which has made it increasingly feel like a glorified neighbourhood watch... he can't let that stand!!]

They've had it coming for a long time, so count me in. I run the local ghost patrol, so if we want to capture or incapacitate any grunts, we'll have that covered.

[Hell, even if 'Onychinus' doesn't care either way, he'll bring some of them in. The worst his ex-colleagues can do is tell him that they don't want them and let them run!]

[She didn’t inherently trust this individual, but it seemed they had a common enemy.]

[He makes a soft, thoughtful sound.]

A 'certain group'? Come now, there's no need to be coy. We both know exactly who you're talking about.

[A little huff.]

[The warning is unspoken but clear. If Morty does anything other than what he says, Sylus will come for him too.]

'Ghost patrol'? Aren't you the man who was dishonourably discharged from the police service?

[His voice keeps that soft, amused drawl as he delivers the light taunt.]

Not that I'm going to stop you from causing a ruckus, but do you think you can handle yourself with this?

[Not trusting Sylus right out is the correct decision.]

And what, may I ask, has kept you from doing anything about it until now?

[Of course he would know.]

Very well but my point still stands. There's also the matter of any research they possess; if there is any sign it can cause harm to living beings, I want to make sure it doesn't see the light of day.

[That feels personal and for a good reason.]

I carried out some initial investigations and killed a few of their number, but... I never had the opportunity to get a clean strike on the ones who mattered.

[Even with her power as a Servant, it was easy for them to evade one person- and that meant that the only people she'd been able to take down held little importance within the gang's power as a whole.]

Someone has already made a claim to their research information. I suspect you may have to speak to them.

[Sylus himself has no issue with what the person supposedly intends to do with it, though he will be watching.]

[He's not being judgmental. Sometimes the cards simply do not fall correctly, and getting yourself killed by running headlong into a situation where you are vastly outgunned is foolish.

Sylus has no such qualms.]

Did your investigations bear up anything of interest?

[A simple nod. No disagreeing on his end unless any of that research mentions the Foundation of Atei. Honestly he hopes there isn't.]

Duly noted. Other than that, I can provide support and medical aid.

[If anyone sees some poor grunts being frozen to a wall when the time comes...better that than dying.]
