[Video] un: runyu

[ It's entirely possible that this post was orchestrated by the little antlered creature, with short hair pure white and eyes far too blue to be that of a 'normal' deer. The feed starts a little off kilter before a coo, then is set upright properly to display someone who could be thought as dancing with a sword - and light tinged blue. Runyu spins on his heel with ease, eyes closed as he focuses on the various forms he flows between.

Only to pause at some sense of being watched. Half turning, he glances towards his antlered companion before shaking his head faintly at it, seeing what it's been up to. Offering a bow, hands cupped before him as the sword is dismissed, he picks up the comm device. ]

As my Dream Beast has decided to put me on display, I feel it appropriate to offer lessons to any who might wish them. I may not be a martial deity, but I can hold my own when pressed. Those who are already skilled but may enjoy a new sparring partner are welcome as well.

How handsome. [What? He can enjoy the sight! Xingchen grins, almost as shameless as Xue Yang! ~~He will never reach that level, no matter how hard he tries.~~]

Do I qualify, A-Yu?

[ Runyu chuckles softly, smiling at Xingchen. So mischievous! He has two precious ones he'll never turn away now. ]

I can think of few who qualify more, A-Chen.

I think your little companion was right to show your skill! As a martial deity, I can say your form is exquisite.

{He can follow each form with ease and he appreciates the work Runyu has put into it!}

I don't seek to hurt you or anyone else, but if you can find a place where two gods might practice, I would be interested.

Your form would put the masters of my world to shame! [Which isn't shocking considering Runyu is a god.] Are you cold? I can bring a cloak with me?

[ The Dream Beast preens at the comment, which earns it another wry look from Runyu. ]

You are generous with your words. [ The smile now is warm towards Xie Lian. ]

I have some ideas, and can erect a barrier to protect our surroundings if that will suffice.

[ The barest hint of a flush appears at the high praise! But the suggestion of warmth is too alluring and holds his attention. ]

An extra cloak would be nice. [ But it's Xingchen's warm arms he's looking forward to the most! ]

I'm not. {In this, he is a stern teacher. Martial abilities should never be a thing of delusions or taken for granted.} I take my responsibilities very seriously. Battles are no places to learn something new about your skill level. Yours is at the highest; I know you have practiced for a long, long time.

{And so he pays his respects!}

Yes, that should do. I can add power to your barrier if needed.

I'll bring one. [That flush just makes Runyu's beautiful face sweeter and Xingchen transforms into a white stag, draping a cloak over his back. Then he uses his sensitive nose to find Runyu, trotting up to the god and blowing a warm breath in his hair.]

[ The urge to argue is there. He's not his brother, or even his father. But he takes a breath and merely inclines his head in quiet acceptance of the words - and attentive comments. He has practiced for a very long time.

He still isn't used to anything close to kind words, outside his brother or, now, his lovers. ]

I look forward to seeing if that is necessary, though I too have no interest in harming you.

[ While he waits, Runyu fusses over his silly Dream Beast - just as the sweet creature clearly was hoping for. But as soon as he senses his love approach, he turns and welcomes the gorgeous stag with gentle touches and a soft smile. ]

You found me~

[Xingchen nudges Runyu to his back where the cloak is resting. He rubs his now antler-less head - they fell earlier in the month! - against his lover, his tail wagging.]

You are chilled! Let me help.

[ His sweet one is so very generous with him. Rubbing over that handsome head, he lets himself be nudged and obediently sweeps the cloak over his shoulders. Only to lean in and plant a kiss on Xingchen's cute fuzzy nose. ]

You always help, A-Chen. Thank you.

{Xie Lian gives Runyu a warmer smile, showing that he trusts the other god. He has seen how content Runyu seems with Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang. Bonds like that are precious and he is very grateful that he has similar company.}

I believe that. You're not a vengeful deity bent on acquiring more power. I've met those.

[ Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang are...everything. And more.

Xie Lian's trust warms him, but those words now send a stab through the dragon's heart. ]

I was, once. Not now. The cost was too great.

[Warm brown eyes watch as Runyu tucks the cloak into place. The kiss makes said fuzzy nose wiggle and Xingchen rubs his face against Runyu's neck.]

I love you.

[His form shifts in a rush of warm wind that seems to wrap around them, protecting them from the cold. Xingchen wraps his arms around his lover and kisses Runyu's cheek.]

Say you had to fight a clever demon, something that could disguise itself and hide in the shadows. How would you handle them?

{Shang Qinghua has definitely become irreplaceable to Xie Lian too. One day, he will see him returned to his frosty king, but for now... They are enjoying the quiet moments of life.}

You are smarter than the rest in that case. You survived and you learned.

I had to learn lessons the hard way too.

[ He grins at the wiggling nose! So cute! Sighing softly at the declaration, he leans against his love. ]

I love you, Xiao Xingchen.

[ Oh! The warmth of that wind delights him, but doesn't distract him from his lover's shift. His arms are ready to catch and tug Xingchen close, wrapping the cloak around them both.

The question earns a moment of thought. ]

If a fight is necessary...some demons who hide in shadow have trouble with the light, so I would check that weakness first. Fire might also be their weakness.

No, I am merely tired.

[ Weary in heart and spirit. Guilt still tugs at him for his past tyranny. Even if that darkness is now long past.

But he tries for a faint smile. ]

Come, my friend. I will lay the beginnings of the spell.

[ He sends off a set of coordinates for Xie Lian to head for. ]

For whenever is convenient for you to come.

[In either form, Xingchen is a solid, warm place for Runyu to rest. The return of his feelings just makes him warmer, too!]

A-Yu, you're so sweet. [He snuggles under the cloak and places more, feather-light kisses on Runyu's jawline while he talks.]

And clever too! [Xingchen has learned a lot from his godly lover and he genuinely enjoys the way Runyu solves puzzles.]

Your way is kind as well. You don't immediately execute them.

[ How could he possibly not adore this beautiful man? It's impossible! Runyu snuggles his sweet love close, enjoying those soft kisses. ]

I have had dealings with demons. Race does not necessarily mean evil. There are evil gods, and gentle, even kind demons.

That fatigue... I understand.

{He had tried to drown it in alcohol and then he had played dead, allowing himself to be locked in a coffin. None of it helped. He had to face it before the pain of it became...bearable.}

I won't keep you! I just need to leave a note.

{With the note left for Qinghua, Xie Lian leaves and takes what transportation necessary to get to the coordinates. He has a sword strapped to his back and Ruoye is wrapped around his wrist.}

Runyu? Are you here?

Are there really? [Xingchen has encountered that in Ellipsa, but he hasn't considered that it could be the case in...their...world. ~~He has to be from Runyu's world, right?~~]

It seems like Cultivators - even experienced ones - are ill-informed. I don't want to make an awful mistake.

[ From most people, Runyu might not believe it. But from Xie Lian...he does.

He nods in easy acceptance before ending the feed. The coordinates lead Xie Lian to a part of Winter near enough to the Unfrozen Lake to be accessible enough, without being in the midst of where just anyone might stumble upon them.

Xie Lian might sense wards go up behind him, and a mist swirl around before the dragon steps into view with a quiet little smile.]

I am here.

[ Humming in quiet confirmation, he presses a tender kiss to his lover's temple. ]

Follow your heart, beloved. I am sure you will find your way.

{The barrier is as strong as he hoped it would be and he smiles a little himself. It's nice to be in strong company! He is dressed in white, but there is a small hint of red at his waist - one of the ties holding his robes closed is indeed that color.

Upon seeing Runyu, Xie Lian immediately bows.}

It's an honor. Your barrier should hold and it will keep others away.

[His heart had led him to find the good in Xue Yang. It had also led him to Runyu. Xingchen smiles bashfully.]

My way leads to you. A-Yang and I can learn from our dragon and help others see the truth. Intention is what matters; not the origin of someone's birth.
