( The video focuses on a slender girl dressed in purple and black, bangs over one eye covered with an eyepatch and a purple raven alongside her that doesn't seem quite corporeal. He is, in fact, the most leal servant of the Prinzessin der Verurteilung and is able to speak on her behalf when mundane subjects elude her.

Now, however, this new place shall see the Prinzessin in all her glory and know her purpose. )

Greetings, fair citizens! I come to you from the most grand city of Mondstadt, a place that is worthy enough to be my residence before I reclaim my true home in Immernachtreich. It is my sincere hope that all of you will be my servants in this glorious matter and ---

( It is now that the raven at her side begins to speak with both lower and more logical voice. )

Prinzessin, it would be best if you simply learned this new land before recruiting those among you to help you seek your homeland. We have a purpose here to serve others, not serve ourselves.

( Fischl cocks her head, considering it, then nods rapidly before giving everyone a broad smile. )

My name is Fischl and I will help liberate this land through my touch!

[Fischl basically LARPs 24/7. Go with it lol.]

[ Phew. Okay then, Cloud's back in his apartment, he's got his bag of rice and a couple other groceries after another day of venturing Nightwake. Time to check and see what's happening on the Network, setting video and voice submissions on autoplay in case he hears from anybody back home and—

"Greetings, fair citizens!"

Aaand it's a very theatric sounding girl. Listening as he sets his bag of rice in the corner of his countertop, he stops the moment he hears the name Mondstadt. ]

Another one...? [ He voices quietly to himself as he turns his head back to his phone on the counter, deciding to have a listen in and watch Fischl and her...is that a big purple raven? ] ...

[ He listens to the end, before deciding to pick up his device. ]

Still trying to figure out why it's touch that's keeping us grounded.

[ Not that it's a problem for him. But...can he just...pass someone like Fischl on the street and give her a crisp high five? ]

I seek the answers to why we need to touch as well! While I fear not touching another person, I should like to know why it aids this place and heals the problems of it.

( It occurs to her that this man has said "another one" and she cocks her head. )

You have met others from Mondstadt here?

[ Ah... he kept his microphone on when he was listening to her message. She caught that. Well, he supposes there's no point in keeping anything a secret now. ]

Here, and another world before getting pulled to this one.

Another world? You must have been summoned for great reasons. I, of course, have been summoned to this place in order to save it. I must have because the last place I was, Mondstadt, was a temporary home for me as well.

( Fischl looks at Oz and he starts to explain, his voice lower and more calm than Fischl's. The raven often has a better grip on reality. )

The Prinzessin only means that she has been seeking her homeland for a long time and while in our last home, she was a knight who helped defend her city. Is it the same for you?

How 'bout that. Same here. Apparently.

[ As far as "saving the world" goes, that is. If they can believe Olwen and his lot in the first place. For all intents and purposes, Cloud is remaining optimistically cautious for now. But it's still nice to hear that there are others like him and Zack, even Ayaka, who've experienced multiple worlds. With time, he's going to feel less reserved about talking of his prior ventures.

Oz speaks up once more, and Cloud leans against his kitchen counter, phone in hand as he looks down at his device with a slightly furrowed brow. He sounds more...direct.

Prinzessin, huh. He has no reason to believe ~~she's LARPing~~ otherwise about her royal status. ]

Nothing quite as, uh... [ How do you talk to royalty again? ~~C'mon, Cloud. You stumbled into an acting role in the last world.~~ ] lofty, as your... [ Almost got it, Cloud. ] ...highness' duty.

I spent most of my time as a sword for hire.

There is no shame in lending a sword in need! I myself lend my bow to the venerable Knights of Favonius in order to defend our fair city and to investigate things that threaten our people. I receive renumeration for that work.

( The idea of a sword for hire interests Fischl and she has a keen glint in her green eyes. )

What sorts of things do you lend your sword to?

Ohh, you work with the Knights of Favonius too. Only ever met their Acting Grandmaster and Cavalry Captain, but they seem like good people to work for.

[ As for what his sword is for? ]

Nowadays? Mercenary work, self-improvement... [ Fischl seems to have a pretty romantic perspective on things. ] Protecting my friends.

Oh, you are fortuitous indeed to have met our dear Acting Grandmaster Jean and our Calvary Captain Kaeya. Captain Kaeya awaits us in Sunwaning even now though I have seen nothing of the Acting Grandmaster.

( Fischl frowns a little. She doesn't want to see Jean here because who would protect Mondstadt without her? Anyway! )

A mercenary? You hardly look the sort to have truck with those brigands. Though, if only in service to one's friends, I could be willing to forgive mercenary work.

[ Very fortuitous! ... If one ever asks him how he met said Acting Grandmaster, they're getting a half-truth. They overcame an arduous trial. And that's it. ]

I guess we'll hafta wait and see.

[ Though as a frown mars Fischl's lips, he initially thinks it has to do with his title as a merc. Brigands... Does she mean associating with the likes of Treasure Hoarders? If he weren't holding his phone right now, Cloud would have crossed his arms. ]

Sorry to disappoint. But I'll work for whoever pays me right.

[ Though he thankfully doesn't leave that statement hanging in the air for long, a beat before adding, ]

'Cept I draw my line at stuff like robbing people or getting kids involved. Straightening out crooks or clearing out monsters is more my speed.

( When he says he won't rob people or get kids involved, Fischl smiles brightly. She can certainly trust him now and it seems like he's just taking commissions with the Adventurer's Guild the way she has from time to time. )

In Mondstadt, where I was before here, we had the Adventurer's Guild that allowed a brave hero to take on a commission for money. It sounds as if this is what you used to do and it is a noble pursuit. Many of the finest people I know do work for the Guild, including myself. You might think it below a princess to do those things but a good princess helps anyone in need.

[ Praise be Cloud Strife, Ex-SOLDIER: First Class, Midgar's #1 Mercenary, ~~Former jackass with a heart of gold now socially awkward dork with a heart of gold~~, and evidently enough if he ever sets foot on Teyvat's shores...adventurer? ]

Surprise surprise. I know a thing or two about good princesses. [ Huh. Cloud's in a pretty good mood if he's playing along like this. ]

Well, you must be a good mercenary indeed. I shall refer to you as an adventurer instead because mercenary implies that you do ill deeds for money and that doesn't seem to be the case.

( Fischl can make her own truth; she does it all the time. )

"Cloud the Adventurer", huh?

[ Chin in hand. ]

Yes indeed! Cloud the Adventurer! Will you be working with the Guilds once they open or are you seeking other work?

( He sounds suited to the guilds, same as she, but she's curious as to what he'll do here in the city. )

If everything pans out, delivery boy. [ If he were in person with her, he'd gesture idly with one hand at his side as he elaborates. ] Back in Kyoto, I'd meant to start a business up. But I'm more used to the technology of this kinda world.

[ Meaning he has an excuse to get a motorcycle wheeeeeeeeeeeee ]

Delivery boy? They're important but I wouldn't think a mercenary would want to deliver things. Tired of fighting?

( Fischl thinks it is a valid thing to be tired of fighting, tired of adventuring. One day, she might want to hang up her bow - though not before she finds her way home. )

[ "Tired of fighting?" ]

....

[ His gaze drifts from the camera for a moment. That's a question he's never been asked before. Give him a couple more years? Perhaps he'd have a more concrete answer for this girl. But now, ]

I'm not sure.

[ His mako-infused blue eyes are back on Fischl and Oz on the other side. He's not about to get deep and thoughtful with someone he just met. But he's already said three words too many to let on. ]

Fighting's just about the best thing I'm good at. And I still got a lot of that to do whenever I go home.

Having prowess at the martial arts is nothing to be ashamed of but I can understand wanting something different. I, too, long for variety in my life. I can cook a little and use my bow, naturally - a curious mind is one who is never bored. Thinking is good for the soul.

( Fischl thinks so, anyway, though she doesn't like to be alone with her own thoughts very often. )

[ Thinking is good for the soul, huh... It wasn't every day he had somebody feeding into and encouraging him to do that. Though it goes unspoken, lost in thoughts all alone typically didn't lead to positive results. For too long, anyway. ]

Appreciate the confidence booster, Fischl. Name's Clou— [ Wait... Ah. He didn't formally introduce himself in the first place, did he. He spilled the beans when pondering that little title for himself. He huffs, expression softening a little. ]

"Cloud the Adventurer"; at your service... [ HE SHRUG ] I guess.

Cloud? What a wonderful name. It inspires confidence, I think, and if you should choose to join me on my journey, you would make a wonderful retainer at my court. Cloud the Adventurer sounds good for now, though.

( Fischl grins at him. )

Am I Fischl the Adventurer too? I have been known to take a commission from time to time.

Immer... [ He's not going to try pronouncing it. CHANGING COURSE. ] It sounds tempting. But I'll hafta pass.

[ He has somewhere else he wants to be. ]

Maybe a visit.

[ For all intents and purposes, despite his laid back tone, he's hung to every word. Whether it's real or the power of her will manifest, he's got no reason to believe otherwise. ]

Guess in the meantime, we'll just hafta focus on this world.

[ As Adventurers! ]

This world seems to need a strong battalion of adventurers to solve their problems in the segments. We should work together, Cloud the Adventurer.

( This world needs strong adventurers and she is more than capable with bow and Electro! )

[ "Just Cloud" almost pops out of his mouth. But instead he simply shakes his head. ]
