Interesting, that and the gods commanding a specific element. In my world, the gods all reside on the very top of their towers - a place aptly called "Gods Landing". The manage a lot of the heavier politics, creation and distribution of resources, and other more...sensitive matters not known to the public.

As far as I know, they're all immortal and have command over every single facet of life. I heard that one particular god in the Landing of a tower called Takamagahara is particularly fond of creating odd animals. Never been there meself so I couldn't really confirm it, but I hear there's all sorts of critters there.

That sounds like they have much more power.

In Teyvat the power a god has over its nation differs. Like in Mondstadt, the god of wind is also the god of freedom and he doesn't interfere in whatever humans are doing unless they find themselves in some great danger.

[He laughs.]

He may seem lazy, but he's actually a gentle soul that believes everybody should be able to choose their own fate.

[ Freedom associated with wind. ]

I wonder, are they a god of freedome because of the wind or did the wind come to them because they value freedom? Also, you make it sound like you've met them personally. Are the gods that readily available for an audience where you're from?

Who knows? It would be best to ask him, I guess.

[He laughs again.]

It's not that difficult to meet at least some of them. The god of knowledge can be sometimes found walking around her city. She enjoys helping out, too, but since she has an appearance of a child it would not be obvious to you at first glance that she's a god.

On the other hand, the god of thunder is probably stressing a lot of people out when she appears on the streets, but she's much nicer than she seems once you actually talk to her.

The first one however, that's kinda unnerving. A god who can blend in and likes to poke their divine nose into regular folks business? Makes me shiver, but I reckon if no one knew any better-

-"ignorace is bliss" as they say. But it sounds like a grand ol' adventure, torch. What made you want set out on summin' like that? Most folk are content to just visit once or twice, maybe take the odd trip just out of town. Very few willing to never be in one place for too long.

It really depends what kind of god that is. The god I'm talking about, Nahida, is actually here. If you ever meet her you'll know that she isn't scary at all. She's a really compassionate god.

[She has a pretty sad story to herself, being locked up by her own people for 500 years, yet still wishing to reach out and aid those who needed her.]

As for my journey... I've been travelling for as long as I can remember, but the main reason why I set off to see other nations and meet their gods was to find my sister. The two of us were separated when an unknown god suddenly appeared in our path.

[ That's a touch disquieting. Maybe two or three years ago he wouldn't have been bothered, but something had changed in that brief time, one that opened his eye to something about the relationship of the divine and mortals. ]

[ Meaning he'll try to avoid them, if he can. ]

So another god, one you're not acquatined with, tore you two apart eh? Sounds like you haven't got it easy.

[Aether is not going to tell him that there are more gods from Teyvat here. He's not going to push that the other needs to meet them either.]

That's right. I was hoping other gods would know something about her, but so far I got nothing. Still, my sister happens to be here as well, so my search seems to be over for now.

[Except it's more complicated than this.]

So, since you found your sister and all, what're your plans when you get back home then? Travel together? See the rest of the world?

[He wonders if he should explain what is happening back home, why he and his sister likely won't see one another too soon after he returns, but he refrains from it.]

It would be nice if we could travel together some more... I would introduce her to all the friends I made. And then later we could settle somewhere. Every journey needs an end, after all.

That sounds nice. But they also do say "where one journey ends; another begins". Well, atleast thats the expression in my world.

I have to say, Aether, I am quite jealous. When I signed up to sail, it was for money but I will admit a big part of it was also to see the world. I've only seen a few places, and the time I spend there isn't that long so, enjoyment isn't really a priority.

[ He sighs. ]

Maybe one day, eh?

Maybe one day. Every world has something wonderful to discover... or at least that's what it seems like to me. I hope you will get to see those wonders one day.

[A warm smile appears on his face.]

Journeying into the unknown can be daunting and scary, but seeing something amazing along the way can make it worth it.

Agreed. That being said, I know you mentioned meeting the gods was your objective, but what do you like to look for whilst on your travels? Like food or culture and such. I know the kids back home wouldn't forgive me if I didn't bring back toys and sweets from the places I go to, and sister Nette in particular enjoys this kind of tea from Elysium.

Hm... food is a must go to, especially that my little companion has quite the appetite. The local culture is always nice to experience. I never miss the chance to take part in the festivals if there are any.

Then we usually set for some ancient ruins or just to see the scenery around and further away from the cities.

Ruins, eh? Actually, I met someone who's interested in ruins to study....oh bugger what was it?...L-.Lan-...Ling...ling....Linguistics! That's the one! Faruzan, her name. Said she'd teach me once she's got her feet down on the ground here, maybe go poke our noses in any ruins we can find here.

[ A beat. ]

[What a small world... but then again, he shouldn't really be surprised.]

[ And here's where he pauses, making a slightly embarassed face as he paused and took a short breath. ]

Do you know someone named Ayaka? I'd say her last name but....I can't.

[Aether's smiles grows even more.]

Yes, she's a good friend of mine. The Kamisato siblings helped me during my travels. Ayaka's brother, Ayato is here too, actually.

[Such a small place, indeed.]

To be honest, it feels like this world has pulled a lot of people from Teyvat, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised that you know them.

That right? Interesting.

[ A part of him wishes no one from his world gets pulled here. There's quiet a lot here, maybe too much. ]

Aye, I'm familiar with her brother. I haven't the pleasure of meeting him but, the pamphlets when I got here were hepful. Actually...

[ Noah then quickly switches over to a private video call. ]

Actually, torch. If you don't mind I'd like to...get some advice. See, Ayaka helped quite alot, more than she may realize, when I first got here. Long story short, I was runnin' about like me arse was on fire and she had helped me out. So I'm in her debt, and I'd like to repay her. A small token of appreciation but, all I know is she likes tea and the color pink.

Now I nothing about the tea here and what she seems to prefer is waaaaayyy out of my knowledge, and I don't want to give her something that might.....upset someone else, if you catch me drift.

[ He does not like stepping on other peoples toes unless deserve it after all. ]

Do you have any recommendations? I'm a pleb so, I'm not really sure what someone of her status would really like.

[Aether is surprised by this sudden request only for a split second. Then he smiles again and nods. Ayaka is always working very hard and she wishes to help as many people as she can so it's no wonder someone would want to repay that kindness.]

Oh, sure. I'll be happy to help. Ayaka is very kind, but I'm sure that she would be happy with the gift, no matter what is is.

That aside... She definitely deserves something nice. Tea is great, but I understand that there's so many kinds of it that it would be overwhelming to choose one. A kind of tea that isn't sold in the tea house would be a nice direction. Ayaka enjoys trying out things from different places, so if you know how to cook maybe you could try making something tasty for her? What else...

[He takes a moment to think.]

A hairpin or a fan could be a good idea, too, maybe with a floral motif.

[ He listens and nods in agreement. ]

There is quiet a lot of kinds of tea around. I went looking around for tea but I got a bit of consumers paralysis.

[ He walked away from that with no tea but thinking that several of them were incredibly appealing. ]

A hairpin or fan....folding fan, yeah? Those sound reasonable, and pink flower patterns or design shouldn't be too hard to find....

If you'd like we can go together. I'll tell you which ones we offer at the tea house, so we could choose something unique for Ayaka.

But I wouldn't say no to a round of drinks at a pub. We could exchange stories while shootin' the breeze n' all that. I don't think Madam Faruzan's lessons are gonna start anytime soon so, outside of trying to find work and doing part time stuff, my schedule is free in the evenings.

That being said, what does she look like? Madam Faruzan, I mean. I only messaged her so no idea what she looks like in person.

Don't worry. I'm used to helping out people all the time. Finding some tea will be no problem at all.

As for Madam Faruzan, you will be quite surprised, but she looks very young. She got stuck in some ruins for many, many years, but for some reason her appearance didn't change at all.

Surprised? I'm shocked! That sounds traumatizing!

[ A beat. ]

Blimey, and she still wants to go back....That either some amazing dedication to her craft, or reckless abandon.

[ Noah now is thinking seriously about signing up to become her student. ]

She's gonna be a very interesting teacher, I can say that.

[ He says with a big grin. Clearly he too, lacks some sense of self preservation. ]
