Hello, this is Maomao, and I'd like to make a bit of an announcement.

The Apothecary is now available for business in Nightwake. I will be providing services for medicine and potions, both ones that I will have premade as well as any custom orders that people may ask for.

Provisions for hospitals, clinics, and people who are in dire need of it will be given for free. For other cases, payment can be made through cash or through equivalent exchange. This will include both fully crafted medicine, potions, and individual ingredients. Please do not hesitate to discuss with me properly regarding this matter.

As for other services our place will provide: I am a professional poison tester, so if there are any items that need to be checked for poison, I am willing to check for them at the appropriate price. I am also willing to do any physical check ups, free of charge.

And given that it is an apothecary, the place will be open for those who wish to practice crafting medicine and potions of their own, as there will be a space for it. This will be open for free, but customers that use it must sign a waver beforehand.

Lastly, we are also hiring- as I am the sole owner, I will need assistance in handling customers, deliveries, and collecting more ingredients. People who I bring on will be compensated appropriately.

Hey, this is Nia. I'd like to apply for a job here. I can fill pretty much any role you'd need me to, including another set of hands for making medicine.

[ And she'd appreciate the company. Especially if it means she can talk someone's ear off. ]

I should ask formally, however, what your background is. In medicine and the like, that is. So I'm aware of your experience.

I'm a field medic, mostly. I can identify herbs that are good for medicine, and I can make medicines and poultices too. I'm an experienced Summer, so I can determine exactly what illness someone has just by looking, and I'm a powerful healer who can reverse pretty much any wound. In extreme cases I can even directly target and destroy viruses, but that's a risky one I'd prefer to avoid if other options exist.

You're a Summer as well, huh... you'll have to teach me some of that stuff.

[ Since it'd be useful. ] I'm familiar with plenty of herbs, but this world has some things that I don't have back home. But I'd be willing to take you on, just let me know when you'd like to meet in person so I can show you around.

This afternoon work? I can get to Nightwake easy enough. And if you send me the coordinates for your apothecary, my Iris' pathfinding program will lead me straight to it.

Although admittedly... I do not know how to send coordinates through this thing.

[ She barely got the applications to function! ]

[After a while, the door suddenly swings open of its own accord. Nia walks in with a jar of Purple Star leaves, the door swinging closed behind her.]

Hey Maomao, got something for you.

Ohh...!

[ Maomao's bright blue eyes light up as cat ears pop out of her hair excitedly. ]

[Nia's much more literal cat ears twitch in amusement.]

Remember those leaves that could be made into an general purpose antidote salve I mentioned a while back? Well, you're looking at 'em. I figured the sample I gave you then wouldn't be enough for a proper apothecary, so I gathered up a bunch from the tree I grow 'em from.

That's perfect!

[ She's definitely basically sparkling. ]

I'll definitely have to experiment with these...!

[ She wonders what kinds of things she can make besides just a general antidote. It's very exciting to her, to be honest. ]

Yeah, speaking of experiments, I noticed you've got some faded puncture wounds in a few places. Been building up an immunity to some things?

[poisontest]

Huh- [ She pulls her sleeve down further; when was that noticed...? ] Something like that, you might say.

[healerscorned]

I can heal the lingering damage, if you'd like? It won't do a thing to your body's ability to resist toxins, promise.

[poisontest]

No, it's alright. It'll heal up naturally, anyway.

[ Plus, she can use this in an emergency if she has to. ]

Alright, just thought I should offer. So, time to get the grand tour?

[poisontest]

There isn't really much to tour. Most of the items are in shelves. If you need to get something higher up... [ She takes a few steps and gestures at a ladder. ] This can be used, of course. I took to labeling all of the shelves properly, and there is also a book that explains each ingredient up at the entrance desk.

And over there-- [ She gestures to the right. ] Is where people can practice potion making as needed.

I'll have to give that a read later. I think I've already got it all down, but it never hurts to refresh your memory now and then. Complacency is what gets people killed.

[Nia nods as she takes it all in. Yeah, this place is more than satisfactory in her eyes.]

There are some things that are exclusive to this world as well, so I've made sure to make notes on that.

I'm glad to hear it. Are there any particular days and hours that you would prefer?

I'm good on any day. I'd prefer to work after noon, but royal duties got me used to being available at any time of day, so I can come in early in a pinch.

I should be able to hold the fort in the mornings for the time being, so giving you afternoon shifts is fine with me. If there's anything else you need to ask, please feel free to contact me anytime.

Right. I think I'll stick around for a while, see if I can't program your organization system into my Iris.

[Nia taps next to her left eye, a circle of blazing gold forming in her actual iris.]

Still gonna try to memorize it normally, but some guidance in a pinch won't hurt.

There is no need for competition, sir. Multiple apothecaries will only help, not harm. Especially given that I am only one person.

[ This is all said in a bland, yet barely apologetic voice. ]
