I hope this isn't too odd of a post, but I'd like to offer my services as a professional housekeeper while I'm still looking for a steady job. I have almost ten years of experience in this line of career, so I know my way around a duster or two. And I'm great at getting all kinds of stains out of rugs and clothes.

I can either do a one-time cleaning of your place, cook up a meal for you, or teach you some tips and tricks to do either yourself for a small fee.

If there's anything else you might need the expertise of a housekeeper for, I'd be happy to help.

[ Thoma hands over a cleaning cloth, refocusing his mind on the task at hand as he guides Kaveh to the counter he'd left alone. ]

Yes, clean them in wiping motions so that you brush any large crumbs into one area, so it's easier to just sweep them all up in the end.

[ kaveh isn't nearly as incompetent as he, perhaps, originally let on, and he clears the counter with ease. ] How's this?

That looks perfect! Just doing something like this at the end of the day should help in keeping the kitchen clean, so you won't have to do more heavy duty cleaning later. Though that might just be me, so I don't mind.

Now that the crumbs are off, use this wet towel to give them a final wipe down.

I don't mind doing little things like this. I can't stand when it piles it, because I'm usually working constantly... and the last thing I want to have to worry about is picking up after him. [ he says, like he's also not a part of the problem. ] But thank you, Thoma. [ he uses the damp towel to give it a final wipe. ]

Seems like your housemate puts a lot of the work on you... ?

He thinks he's so much better than me because he has your standard 9-5 job. Not everybody can find something as cushy as he could. tch, And then he comes home expecting the world, meanwhile I haven't slept and I'm rushing to meet a deadline. [ thoma, did you really want to open this can of worms? ]

Wow, it sounds like you have it tough. It sounds like you're both busy types.

[ he heaves a sigh, and leans against the counter. ] And having to start from square one is just a pain. I can't wait until we've saved enough money to get out of this apartment.

Well, at least room and board is taken care for us to start, so we have some time to save up. Will you both still be living together?
