So, since it looks like we're gonna be stuck with each other, I'm gonna get certain things about myself out in the open. It'll save me a lot of misunderstanding and time spent explaining myself over and over.

Hi! I'm Naama. I'm a succubus, and here's what that means:

* Yes, I am a demon. I was forged in hell out of human sins in order to punish humanity for their sinful nature.
* No, I am not inherently evil. The metaphysical details of my birth don't dictate what kind of person I am. I have never killed someone, and don't intend to change that.
* Like all demons, I subsist on mana, which I can only get by taking it from humans. I'll only do this from willing partners, after establishing clear consent.
* If you've heard the word succubus before, you can probably guess what draining mana means. If not: It's sex. I subsist on human desire. It is what it is, please don't make it weirder than it has to be.

TLDR: Every week or so, I need to feed via a sexual encounter with a human. It's kind of like the touch requirement we all have here, but more specific and intense. I keep the mana drain as light as I can, so there's no actual danger of anything worse than feeling lightheaded and dizzy afterwards, like you had your blood drawn. I try not to hit up the same person too often, just to be safe.

Personally, probably because I have to do it regularly to live, I don't really see sex as anything too special. If you can handle the occasional feeding session without getting weird about it, let's hang out and see if we vibe. Don't get your hopes up about dating, I've yet to find someone I wanted to have a romantic relationship with.

So, uh, with all that awkward stuff out of the way, consider this an AMA. From talking to people, I've gathered that there's a lot of different kinds of demons in different worlds, and they all work in different ways, so as long as you don't get too invasive or aggro, I'm happy to clear up any questions or misconceptions.

I think of it less as a courage thing and more a practical issue. I literally can't shake hands with someone without influencing them, and also I have big curly horns, so it's not like I could hide my nature for very long.

Are there any side effects for the human who has mana drained?

Dizzy spells, fatigue, that kind of thing. It only gets dangerous if you lose a lot of mana at once, and I don't need that much to get by.

The effects don't last too long; eating a lot seems to restore lost mana faster. I try to always cook something nice as aftercare.

Technically, I can subsist on mana alone, but here's the thing about human food: It's friggin' delicious.

Haha, its a long story, but it comes down to...

I was kidnapped by demons, and torn asunder, then put back together to be used as entertainment. Every time I was killed or injured, I was put back together with demonic energy, and in the end I decided to reside more permanently in Hell.

Though I hide it well, on a bad day I have wings and horns and fangs and all from the touch of that energy. It's rather extensive.

That being said, most demons born there do see some difference between myself and them.

It's mostly a reference to how much I like both making and eating soup.

I could probably give a more in-depth explanation of demonic metaphysics, but it's not really my area of expertise. I think it goes something like... humans die, their souls are purged of sin to be reborn, and the sin all accumulates in hell and turns into demons. So, the more sins humanity commits, the more demons there are.

Don't demons form contracts? Mana's never really been a problem for me, but where I come from that's one way for some people to take care of that little problem. I guess it's more fun the other way anyway, huh?

That's the trick of it. The sex is good, but if I went all in and drained all your mana, it would be a hundred times as painful as it was pleasurable before. It's just about the worst possible way to go.

The specifics are a little shaky because of different definitions of demons and devils in different worlds, but the general idea is that I have to take my energy from mortals who are still a part of the cycle of reincarnation. Once you die, or shed your humanity, I probably wouldn't be able to get any mana out of you.
