Occasionally. It really varies from planet to planet. Some have different chemical balances in the soil. Some plants never evolved to have leaves but rely on symbiotic microbes for photosynthesis. In others the leaves or other photosynthetic organs are primarily red, purple, or even black because they must capture different spectrums of light in their native environments.

I apologize again. Do you understand what I am referring to? Have your people discovered photosynthesis?
