( What Thea is keeping to herself is that she took quite some time to get accustomed to the way these devices facilitate communication. Ellipsa's world has gone far beyond hers in terms of technology, and she wonders just how much of that is due to the seeming proliferation of magic.

Point being, Cinder offered enough of a trial by fire that she finally feels confident enough to attempt sending out her own message.

Good day, fellow Otherworlders.
My name is Thea and I am a relatively recent transplant to this place. After some time studying the technology and magic of this world, I find myself wondering how unusual Ellipsa's technology is within the context of the, well... The multiverse, I suppose it is.

To put it simply: does your own world possess both magic and such advanced technology? Or are these two concepts exclusive of one another?

My thanks to those willing to indulge my curiosity.

I come from a world with neither.

But the previous world I was in at least had some manner of technology as well as magic. Not at the same level the technology is here, however.

Horses and horse carts, mostly.

Magic was always present in everyday life in Avalon, but we otherworlders had to have a contract with a familiar to be able to do it. In a way, magic is more simple here - yet has more to offer in variety. Not only the seasonal abilities, but everything beyond it.

The technology was brought in as an after thought, to help otherworlders communicate with the each other. Originally it was just magical.

Well, we haven't had problems so far. At least not big enough to be an issue.

The universe where I came from mostly dealt with technology for the most part... people had abilities that are similar to magic, but I don't think anyone's ever called them 'magic'.

Some of them are but some of them aren't.

I certainly haven't seen anyone employ black holes in Ellipsa for example, after all.

Is it truly so unusual to have a combination of both?

[She may look like a child, but she speaks like an adult. Her voice is not childlike either.]

Where I come from, 'tis called magitek. Although, the people who use it are a people who are unable to use magic. That's why they created magitek. Most of the world relies on magic, but technology is not out of the question. It truly depends where in the world on is.

[She tilts her head with a small hand to her chin for a moment and then continues.]

...although, I shall admit, we do not have a network quite like this. The closest would be the linkpearl, but that is audio only.

There’s definitely a lot of advanced tech where I’m from but if you believed in magic you’d definitely be laughed at or whatever.
