( What Thea is keeping to herself is that she took quite some time to get accustomed to the way these devices facilitate communication. Ellipsa's world has gone far beyond hers in terms of technology, and she wonders just how much of that is due to the seeming proliferation of magic.
Point being, Cinder offered enough of a trial by fire that she finally feels confident enough to attempt sending out her own message. )
Good day, fellow Otherworlders.
My name is Thea and I am a relatively recent transplant to this place. After some time studying the technology and magic of this world, I find myself wondering how unusual Ellipsa's technology is within the context of the, well... The multiverse, I suppose it is.
To put it simply: does your own world possess both magic and such advanced technology? Or are these two concepts exclusive of one another?
My thanks to those willing to indulge my curiosity.

But the previous world I was in at least had some manner of technology as well as magic. Not at the same level the technology is here, however.

Nothing at all? Might I ask what sort of transport was available in your world?
And how would you compare the previous world you were part of to this one?

Magic was always present in everyday life in Avalon, but we otherworlders had to have a contract with a familiar to be able to do it. In a way, magic is more simple here - yet has more to offer in variety. Not only the seasonal abilities, but everything beyond it.
The technology was brought in as an after thought, to help otherworlders communicate with the each other. Originally it was just magical.

It does seem as though this world's magic is highly varied. Though I cannot help but wonder the wisdom of offering such power to any otherworlder who happens to stumble into this situation.

I see. Then I assume these abilities are similar to the magic one finds here in Ellipsa?
( Interesting. She never considered magic to be an innate thing the way this place and, apparently, this woman's place do. )
video;
I certainly haven't seen anyone employ black holes in Ellipsa for example, after all.

I'm sorry? You said black holes?

[She may look like a child, but she speaks like an adult. Her voice is not childlike either.]
Where I come from, 'tis called magitek. Although, the people who use it are a people who are unable to use magic. That's why they created magitek. Most of the world relies on magic, but technology is not out of the question. It truly depends where in the world on is.
[She tilts her head with a small hand to her chin for a moment and then continues.]
...although, I shall admit, we do not have a network quite like this. The closest would be the linkpearl, but that is audio only.

And, maybe, eventuaally, used to people who are different kinds of humans. The pointed ears are truly unlike anything she's seen before. )
I'm not certain, and so I asked. My own world employs technology, however I have never known it to be intertwined with magic. They are separate systems, and magic is too precious a resource to be used on common technology.
( But not too precious a resource to not be hoarded in the basements of rich people. That is something that Thea has yet to consider, though, being one of those rich people with a hoard of magic. )
So, does magitek utilise magic, or simply imitate it?
