Another one, a couple minutes later. Reimu's face is in focus this time, and more or less on camera. She looks kind of flustered. ]

Er... nice to meet you, everyone? This feels ridiculous.

Okay, I'm Reimu. I'm the Hakurei shrine maiden and a youkai exterminator. I've decided to protect this village as long as I'm here, so if any weirdos are causing trouble around town, just let me know and I'll sort them out.

[ To someone off camera: ] Something like that? Where was that button-- [ Video ends. ]

[Oh shit it's Reimu. Marisa hopped on her broom and immediately flew off to search for her. The SMART thing to do would have been to actually call her and organize a meeting point, but (A) Marisa doesn't trust Reimu to be able to figure out the map app, just based on that last post and (B) Marisa doesn't always think clearly when she's suddenly in a hurry, which she is now.

Fortunately, luck always favors a confused shrine maiden, and Marisa found her before too long.]

How long have you been here? Did you find the culprit, or are you just wandering around? [To be fair, wandering around is an important part of the culprit-finding process.]

I'm still in the wandering around phase. I keep trying to accuse people of things but everyone is being REASONABLE about things. Either they're all really good liars, or everyone really is just working together to save this world from the out of control seasons thing.

Out of control seasons? Whoever this third-rate mastermind is, they aren't very creative. We already had that incident just recently.

Why wouldn't it be okay? If I don't tell anyone, then nobody will tell me when there's youkai trouble. That's just basic business sense.

Well, it's normal for youkai to attack humans, and it's normal for me to defeat them, so this is about as normal as it gets. It would be weirder if they weren't up to something.

Yeah but where I'm from, most people don't even know they exist. We try to keep them from attacking so nobody has to know about that stuff. Only us exorcists do. It's kind of like a secret so people don't have to worry.

[And really, people used to go into panic mode and Bad Things happened.]

Actually, I've heard that people don't believe in youkai on the other side of the barrier. I always wondered how that was possible, but if everyone's keeping youkai stuff secret on purpose, I guess that would explain it.

[It's hard to hide the existence of youkai when they're about as rare a sight as pigeons in a city.]

Some people told me there's different worlds so maybe it's like that for us! Most people really can't see them where I come from. They do crap and it affects people but they don't really know it's a supernatural...

Oh! We don't call them youkai anymore either. It's what they were called when people could see them because they used to be able to. But nowadays you can only see them if you're like me with a family line of spiritual work or other reasons. [Like you're about to die.]

It's kind of better this way.
