[The video starts at the Weapon Training HQ, well outside it. Shadow adjusts his tie as he speaks. It's a nice sunny day in Sunwaning, of course. Isn't it always?]

My name is Shadow the Hedgehog, for those who do not know me. I am a combat teacher here at the Weapon Training HQ in Sunwaning. I have openings for new students at this time. I specialize in unarmed combat and improvised weapons. I also have experience in power control. I can assist with learning to control and better manipulate ones abilities that perhaps run more rampant.

I am also seeking others to spar against. I have a dedicated sparring partner though that is the same person. Sparring with new people allow me to learn new techniques and fighting styles. If you are looking for someone new to spar with as well, respond to this message.

Sunwaning has a number of larger houses with yards. I want to see if you both would like to look at them with me. I thought we could find one that works for all three of us. Though Sonic says he doesn't care, all three of us doing so together would be a good idea.

[Shadow reserves the training room and waits for his new student to arrive. He is thinking over how to work with a weapon that is the opposite to his own affinity. He has a few ideas to try when Lott arrives.]

[Lott doesn't make him wait too long, carrying a sword covered in a cloth.]

Hey, ya Shadow?

[The black and red Hedgehog nods and looks at Lott.]

Lott. Good. Show me the weapon. [He holds out his hand for it in case Lott isn't able to remove the cloth himself.]

[He nods and hesitates. He closes his eyes for a few moments.]

[Which gives Shadow a chance to look at Lott. There isn't much stillness, not because he's fidgeting, but in the fact his hair and clothes all move like there is a subtle breeze around him, except they're not moving in a flow like that.]

[Its like dancing shadows.]

[But as he focuses, all that stills.]

[Let's him brace himself.]

[Then he opens his eyes and pulls off the clot, dropping it off to the side, showing a sheathed sword with a red gem in the pomel.]

[He carefully pulls it out and offers him the hilt.]

Its called the Four Sword. I don't think I can access the power its known for, but its also a sword of purification. One of the more powerful relics with light magic.

[Shadow watches Lott as he closes his eyes. He can see the way everything shifts and stirs without stop. Interesting. Dancing shadows. Interesting. So the sword, is it an instrument of light? He looks to the sword and takes the handle. He doesn't draw it yet. He turns the sword around for a moment, feeling it and looking it over.]

Where does the problem come from? When you draw it or try to wield it in combat?

I can draw if safely as long as nothing is prompting a reaction from it. A lot of ambient magic can, or if I use dark magic.

Shadow magic is less of a sure thing, and I'm more concerned about that. Any dark magic I can't replace with shadows or seasonal magic is very situational anyway. [Like the lowkey mind control stuff.]

If its used in combat enough, it'll also start to react, especially if its actually striking down enemies. I haven't tested that so far, but that's how it always was with the previous wielders, regardless of the enemy actually being a creature of darkness. It probably doesn't if the enemy is pure of heart, that's usually how these things go, but beasts still prompt a reaction eventually.

And when it lights up, its very...ambient and that becomes a problem if I'm not prepared for it. It divides my focus to use it and not let it cause problems. So if I could keep the light at least contained in the sword properly....

[Shadow considers the sword as he listens to Lott's explanation. So the sword seems to generate light. It's ambient and drives off darkness and dark magic. An issue of opposed elements attempting to work together. He turns the blade over and gently slides a thumb against the edge to test it's sharpness without cutting himself.]

How strong can it become, this light and magic it generates?

It can seal the King of Darkness' handpicked generals when he's powering them. If they're cut off from that connection, it can kill them.

The most powerful source of light magic in the entire world is the females of the royal bloodline. The sword is one of the tools that can bolster the princess when she's been terribly weakened to seal the King of Darkness back up again.

Nothing can fully kill the King of Darkness or the light that fuels the royal bloodline. Both sides have been trying for longer than written history.

Relics like this sword are usually the deciding factor in these conflicts. There's a few relics greater, its why it has unique powers over relying on pure light, but those have a tendency to get lost for a while and resurfacing when things are the most dire.

[Sounds like the Chaos Emeralds or even the Paradox Prism. He turns the sword over again and moves to slide the air with it, testing if it reacts.]

Has it ever hurt you while trying to use it?

Yes. [He had tried when he first stole it. He had been curious. It hadn't been a pleasant time.]

But I was also....weaker at the time. It hadn't really hurt that much since, at least nothin' I couldn't easily endure. But sometimes it hasn't hurt at all.

[He holds the sword out to Lot. Once taken, he will grab a sword off the wall, a katana.]

Use it against me. I want to observe how you use it.

[ALSO I MISSED THE THING, yeah, sword didn't react to Shadow. It does take at least some magical focus in it.]

[Lott takes the sword and steps back.]

[Now magic of the sword aside, Lott himself is an excellent swordsperson. Proper footing, proper posture, easy handling of the weight of the blade.] Sword or try the magic?
