I have only recently arrived here, and from what I gather, most of you were brought here not too long before me. Still, I wonder if there's anything useful that you've picked up, that you'd think it important for a newcomer to know? Perhaps we could compile information, so that things won't seem so bewildering to people arriving in the future. This place is so different to my own world, yet similar too... it's strange.

And I'm not sure why, but... [ She turns the camera toward the table next to her, containing quite a few plates from the gacha restaurant that look almost inedible. ] ...my luck isn't really working out here. Maybe someone could give the machine a roll for me?

The main thing I've learned is that a lot of people don't drink here, so you'll have to keep that in mind if you plan any parties.

That, and there's monsters out there, but they don't seem very strong.

What sort of monsters?

There was some kind of snow creatures full of bones, and some prankster imps. I haven't been impressed so far.

Everyone else who's taken food out of these machines seems to be getting much nicer plates. I'll eat them if I have to, but I wonder if I'm doing something wrong?

Considering we were lacking on anything concrete it made sense to do that for those here who aren't familiar with methods of gathering information.

It would seem you're just very unlucky, that restaurant simply chooses a dish based on luck, some people have had some spectacular dishes. It's a rather amusing concept.

Yes, especially since there seem to be such vast differences in the worlds we've been pulled here from. I imagine it must be very bewildering for some.

I suppose the best idea would be to just cut my losses and try another restaurant?
I'd cook in the apartment I was allocated, but I can't quite work out the little cooking box in the kitchen.

Ah, the oven? It's a little more simple than I anticipated. Though I did have help learning how to use it.

I imagine you'll be fine with time. Is there no manual for it? I think there are often one of those for appliances here.

I couldn't find one, but I'll take another look. To be honest, with the amount of information I've had to take in about everything else, learning to use the appliances can wait a couple of days.

Of course. We have enough covered that spending on eating out for a few days likely won't hurt too.

What about after that? I'm of course happy to get a job, it just feels like a big thing to jump into when already getting used to a new world as well.

That depends on the kind of person you are, I suppose. What do you want to do?

Then if you're capable, handling quests at the guild will likely help locals here. Most of them can't head into the segments as they are powerless.

Otherwise, I'll hold onto your username for future use. It will take time, but I intend to set up a support centre for people who arrive here and are out of their depths.

I agree that the dishes I've been given are appalling, but I'm very curious to see what the top-rated ones are like. They look amazing.

No, not yet. I've been a little stubborn, trying to get at least one good plate here.

I can't say that I wouldn't do the same.

But what kind of plate would you consider a "good" one? I've seen plenty of people with varied tastes here.

In terms of cuisine, anything at all. I'm partial to the curries from my country, but I've been fortunate enough to travel quite a lot in my world and try all different kinds of food. My problem with this place is the strange combinations on the plates I've had - the last one was just vanilla ice cream with ketchup on top.

Another worldly traveler—it seems like that's a commonality that a lot of us share.

I've also had plenty of strange foods myself, but vanilla and ketchup certainly sounds like a test. If you've managed to stomach it all, then I applaud you.

Really? I suppose it makes sense, with how diverse this world's geography is, to gather people used to different environments.

I managed it, but I wouldn't want another bowl. I have a good friend who's a chef and he'd hate to see any food wasted, even if it was terrible.

It's certainly impressive, especially considering that it seems like enough of us are the helpful and cooperative sort as well.

Is that right? Hmm. Do you think that your chef friend would be able to improve the food that you're being served?

Yes, I'm very glad of that. I can just imagine how quickly things would turn bad otherwise.

He absolutely would. I'm sure he could make something delicious out of anything at all.

As can I, but there would be people who would stand up and try to reign in the chaos.

However, if what you said is true, then that sounds impressive. I'd love the chance to meet your cook friend if the opportunity ever arises.

Absolutely. I'd like to think I can count myself among them.

That would be nice! I'm sure he'd love this place; the variety of cuisines I've seen in only a couple of days is amazing.

I'm not too surprised to hear that given how you started off your message to everyone.

I can only imagine. I like to think that I've traveled a lot myself, but it's always to nice to see things that are new. However, you don't think he'd be worried about being here in the first place?

Probably - he'd want to get back to the rest of his crew. But I was worried too, until I found out that when we're sent back to our worlds, it will be from the same point we were taken from. If that's the case, we'd treat it as an adventure rather than an inconvenience.

[vivens]

That's certainly an optimistic way to view things. It's very admirable. I've heard from the less than optimistic and cynical crowd that they have reservations about enjoying themselves.
