Do you have a favorite saying or quote? I was thinking of mine today.

Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes.

And:

Better to be a broken piece of jade than an intact piece of pottery.

What about yours? What have they taught you?

{The transmission changes to video and shows a very serious Pokemon looking into the camera. It almost seems like...they...are the one...asking the questions. What a knowledgeable baby!}

"I’ve never regretted anything I’ve done. I’ve only ever regretted the things that I didn’t do."

With a couple exceptions, I think this suits me pretty well.

Life's best spent living, I think! Not avoiding trying things because you're worried you'll regret them.

There are a couple things I do regret. I don't think anyone is really capable of not ever screwing up in their lifetimes.

My friends promised me that hurting other people on accident happens and that I don't need to push people away to keep it from happening again.

Mine... wasn't strictly accidental either. But I didn't know it was as bad as it was, because at home it was considered normal and no big deal.

[ Hua Cheng approaches his husband and scoops the cute Eevee up, though his attention is fixed on Xie Lian. ]

You always only do your best. You give everything you had. Be selfish with me.

[ He chuckles fondly at the cute little Eevee and kisses the top of their head before taking a seat beside his beloved. ]

Is that not correct? All I am and have is yours.

[ A grin sharpens his smile and he leans in. ]

How shall my beloved be selfish with me today?

[ Hua Cheng has become fond of the little creature! And he's glad his husband has a little companion so playful. He smiles at being told the same is true in reverse - to have Xie Lian's love is everything to him.

But then! His love climbs into his lap and stakes his claim on Hua Cheng's time. He chuckles softly and wraps his arms possessively around his husband as he makes his lap a comfortable perch. ]

My time is yours.

[ Feeling that shudder, Hua Cheng smirks and nuzzles his husband's neck. He doesn't want Xie Lian to ever even try to let go! In any way.

The suggestion has him adjust his hold, one arm slipping under Xie Lian's legs, then he stands up. Carrying his beloved is easy, and he loves being strong enough to do so. ]

Where do you want to go?

oh, I very much like that jade quote.

I'm partial to "The player who wins is the one who makes the next-to-last mistake."
throneaway: (I'm passionate and grateful)

[personal profile] throneaway 2025-02-12 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it can be.

But look at it this way: no one plays a perfect game. If we can anticipate mistakes, we can keep them from being too dire. But if we go in blind, naive, convinced that good intentions will protect us...

Surely you have no mistakes-cum-crimes to speak of.
throneaway: (Don't tell me that I got it wrong)

[personal profile] throneaway 2025-02-13 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Condolences? Congratulations? You got the lesson out of it, and I don't think it's the kind of thing you can learn from theory.

You play any board games?

At any rate, I didn't mean to pry, pal.

It's funny to be on the receiving end of "you're too recent for that", for a change. Mahjong? Older than that? (I've heard of 'Go', but I don't know how it's played).
