Two days in here, and everything's already flipped on its head.

How often does something like this happen? Is there anything else I should know that that welcome broadcast hasn't told me?

And, most importantly, anyone out there still needing some help? I've already found a few civilians under attack from what I've been told are 'vampires', and again from some escaped criminals. If there's any Mavericks, point me in their direction and I'll dispatch them.

Hi! Sorry, you came at a really weird time for us, I promise it's not usually this bad! Usually the really wild or dangerous stuff is out in the Segments, it's rare that anything happens that puts civilians in danger.

Sounds like I'll be heading out to the Segments more often than not, then. While I enjoy the action, I'd rather help keep innocent lives safe if I can.

Thanks. In short, a Maverick is someone infected with the Maverick Virus. It tends to make Reploids (those like me who are built to have free will like humans) lose themselves and become violent. Not everyone is affected the same - but that's the general reaction from being infected. Where I come from, there's someone who can infect others with it at will and spread it around, and it's never a pretty sight.

I don't think that virus is here. There are only a few people here who are robotic to begin with, so it would be difficult to spread, and the ones that are I haven't seen acting violently.

Normally, I'd be pretty wary of thinking that - but as far as I can tell, the monster responsible for ensuring its spread isn't here. Still, I will have to keep an eye out.

[Probably wouldn't hurt to seek these other people out...]

Back to the matter at hand, though - do we have any answers as to why this is happening? I've been trying to look for myself - but my being unfamiliar with Ellipsa only serves as a detriment. That, and the number of civilians in danger I have run across is a more pressing concern.

I know that there was an explosion at the city jail and a lot of criminals escaped, and others have been attacking trying to break others out, so my best guess is that the darkness is meant to cause chaos and make it easier to break people out? None of the criminals I've run into have had any trouble seeing in the dark, so it's reasonable to assume they were prepared for it.
