Okay, so, IDEALLY none of you will ever have to know any of this, because IDEALLY either Binah or I will be supervising the two Abnormalities that have been brought to Ellipsa at all times and no one will ever be alone with either of them. But in the event that, say, we're both flowers for some other reason, they might breach and it's important to know how to deal with them.

This is Punishing Bird.

Punishing Bird is a TETH-level Abnormality, meaning that while it may cause injury, with proper responses it should be easily manageable. Punishing Bird tends to breach when other Abnormalities are worked on or someone in its vicinity panics.

When Punishing Bird breaches, it targets a random person, prioritizing anyone who is panicking, and starts pecking at them. Its pecks do very little damage - they still hurt, don't get me wrong, but they're not a serious threat. If left alone, it will peck at a person for about thirty seconds, and then calm down on its own.

If you attempt to hurt it while it's pecking at you, you are probably fucked.

An enraged Punishing Bird can kill even experienced agents in one bite. There is no reason you should ever be in this situation! Just don't try to hurt it and you'll be fine. If you do enrage it, if you can evade it for a full minute it should calm down anyway, but it's a fast little guy so good luck. It will also calm down after it bites the person who hurt it, so there's that.

This is Big Bird.

Big Bird is a WAW-level Abnormality, meaning it can easily kill dozens of people if you're not careful with it. It becomes closer to breaching the more people in its vicinity die. But like, from fully pacified it needs 25 people in a day to die to breach, so it shouldn't breach if you don't mess with it! If it isn't attacking people, just leave it the fuck alone and you'll be fine.

But if it does breach, it will cause a blackout where it is. It will use its lamp to hypnotize people and lure them to its location; forty seconds after the person is hypnotized, Big Bird's eyes will turn red and anyone in front of it will be decapitated. It's immune to damage while its eyes are red, so don't bother attacking it then. The hypnosis can be removed if you get the person out of the blacked out area within forty seconds.

Big Bird will not calm down on its own and does need to be suppressed violently. It resists physical damage but is weak to mental and soul damage. Again, this shouldn't happen unless things around here change dramatically and people start dying by the dozens, but it's irresponsible not to have the information out there just in case.

Abnormalities: honestly, you could've gotten so much worse! Some of these guys breach when not enough people die. These two shouldn't cause much trouble.

Yes I know how ironic it is that I'm posting this with my username.

In my own world, such creatures would be suggestive of a severe imbalance in the state of the world. A threat to be removed so the problem might be more easily solved, rather than risk it spreading further. That they are - apparently - relatively commonplace on yours is no less concerning. Indeed, it might well be more so.

Not the terms I would have used, personally, though I can't argue the sentiment.

None of us can help which world we were born to. Even should it prove to be less than pleasant.

You and many others, I have no doubt. Regrettably, such is not easily done, in my limited experience.

To what purpose, if I may ask?

I would ask why the government is so concerned over enforcing their rule in such a manner in the first place.

And I would presume there is no easy way to alter the status quo, such as it is?

A feeling I know all too well, regrettably.

I can only speak to the situation as it was on my world, but the answer was often 'in slight increments, after concerted effort'.

It is. Though I am sorry you've found yourself in such a position.

If nothing else it would provide a space for others to enjoy a similar vacation.
