Jean begins. ]

We're here to announce the formation of Odyssey, a group dedicated to making expeditions in the Segments safer. Our goal is to organize, equip, and mobilize teams based on experience, skill, and compatibility of the members.

We're doing this because we've both been on a lot of expeditions. We've seen them go right, and we've seen them go very wrong. We believe that proper preparation and organization, both before and during expeditions, can make them safer for everyone involved.

[ Here, Jean stops speaking and Reiner takes over: ]

We have a lot of ideas we'd like to implement. First and foremost among them is making sure teams are balanced according to Seasonal abilities. For example, there are some things only Autumns can do, and we've had expeditions where we would've been screwed if I wasn't an Autumn.

Other ideas include establishing caches of supplies out in the Segments in case things go wrong. We also want to make sure everyone is well-equipped heading out. For that reason, our respective businesses (Volcanus and BraunSphere) will be contributing equipment.

[ Jean begins speaking again. ]

[ Maine is a seven-foot-tall mountain of a man who looks about as big on video as he does in real life. He speaks in a gruff, gravelly voice. ]

Interested. What kind of equipment?

Volcanus deals in variety of weapons, both melee and firearms. BraunSphere focuses on defensive enchantments, such as these necklaces we're wearing.

[He makes sure to show it closer to the camera.] It's enchanted to help the wearer resist all elemental damage and increases evasion.

[So offense and defense, both are 'looked after'.]

Of course we'll need to source items for camping and traveling. I was thinking about making an expedition specifically to help people tame a winged mount in the Spring Segments for instance.

[slaughterous]

[ Maine nods. ]

Good variety. [ Then: ] Winged mount?

[ He got a mount with wings… Is he ahead of the curve here? ]

I ain't been on an expedition here before, but I have a lotta experience goin' out ta dangerous places with a group; I'd have ta adjust ta whoever I'm workin' with, though.

That's part of the idea: organizing teams ahead of time so that people are comfortable working together. Our headquarters in Frostreign is designed with that in mind.

Are there gonna be other smaller bases outside of Frostreign at all?

I've lead an expedition before and definitely would want to help out in any way -- there's been a few places I've been meaning to want to visit but haven't gotten the chance to.

And while I can't provide equipment, if you ever need funds to assist in keeping things safer, I can definitely host another charity auction or something.

As for funds… That wouldn't be a bad idea. One of our goals is to establish supply caches in the Segments in case things go wrong on an expedition. The funds raised could go toward the cost of those.

It's surprising there's not been anything like this before now... with some of the enemies and hazardous locations out in the segments, mobilising combat units like this is tactically sound.

[Even she'd been critically injured on one of her expeditions- losing her hand on a mission to the Heart Will Go On Glacier.]

It is a bit suprising, but at least we're making the change now. There's really no use thinking 'I wish we would have done this earlier', but... I really do wish we would have.

[That way, maybe Mukuro would still have her hand.]

Not yet, but we have a few contenders in mind. They're mostly places we were looking at before deciding on the Survival Fortress last time.

New arrivals are welcome to join, but will be less likely deployed to the more dangerous parts of the map, unless the other teammates have been here longer.

This is a great idea and I am definitely interested in joining. I don't have a lot of experience of adventuring yet, but I am working on that and also on my seasonal abilities diligently.
