[The feed opens on a teenage girl with cyan hair in big wavy, twirly twintails. She gives the camera a little awkward bow. Come on, Amari. This is your big debut in a new world(?!), you can do this.]
P-pleased to kneet you! I'm Asari!
[If you look close, you can see the life momentarily leave her as she realizes her goof. She immediately reaches for the phone, shutting the feed off.
... ...
It turns back on a bit later, with a red-faced Amari trying very very hard to act like that didn't just happen.]
Right! Um! My name is Katasumi Amari! So. Er. Wild question but has anyone here ever thought of being an idol?
[So here's the thing about Amari's branch of her canon. It's got a magical VR idol world, but because of Shenanigans, everyone in the world forgot it. You can't tell anyone about it directly, they have to remember it on their own. THUS, A DESPERATE AND FUTILE DANCE TO REMIND PEOPLE FROM OTHER WORLDS ABOUT SOMETHING THEY DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE ANY WAY OF KNOWING IN THE FIRST PLACE BEGINS...]
Um. [She twirls a lock of her hair between her fingers, starting to sweat nervously.] I guess. What I'm saying is. If there are any other people who love singing and dancing here, I'd love to get to dough you! I mean know you! I mean--
[Sputtering and flailing, she quickly ejects herself from the situation by turning the feed off once and for all.]

I don't think I ever considered it. I do like singing in the shower though, I don't know if that counts? It probably doesn't.

Oh! Eva-san! H-hello again!
It definitely counts! If you like singing, that's all that matters! You'd do fine!
[...Do fine at what, exactly?]

[Surely she's not actually suggesting she be an idol.]

[She sends a schedule, which is pretty simple... thankfully for Rinku, or she'd never be able to keep it. Thankfully, as she said, there's a note that members can come to whichever meetings they want for however long they want.]
Are you an idol? That sounds fun! But also like waaaaaaaay too much work.

Hello, my name is Rumi, I'm the leader and lead vocalist of a three girl k-pop group called Huntrix, we all love singing and dancing, and we're all here, so we'll start releasing our music here soon too. Very nice to meet you! Are you an idol back home too like we are?
[And they're not even the only idols here.]
no subject
Um, that's right! I'm just an amateur idol, though! If you sing k-pop, then that means you're from Korpria, right? Wow, I've never met a foreign idol!!
[Kor...pria....?]
no subject
So, you've only recently just started then? I started Huntrix a few years ago. [tho whatever if anything she may have been doing until then in the idol industry and anywhere is a ... mystery aside from insane amounts of hunter training / being a hunter for all her life.] Yeah, back home we live in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, but we just returned from a world tour there.
[Rumi definitely thinks that Korpria and other random things she says are absolutely adorable too.]

Hello, Katasumi Amari.
What if you're already an idol?
no subject
That’s even better! I’m an idol too, though I’m just a beginner. Are you part of a team?
no subject
Yes, I am. I'm part of the group called the Saja Boys. There are a few of us around.

I do play guitar fer a band back home, though.

Oh, really, though? T-that’s cool! I play guitar too, actually! Well, a little. I’m not very good.

[Zoey watched the feed with an amused smile tugging at her lips, her eyes sparkling with genuine warmth for Amari’s nervous energy. She shook her head gently, voice light but encouraging as if talking to a shy friend across the room.
Zoey leaned forward, her grin widening with that infectious confidence she always carried.]
Hey Amari, being an idol? It’s honestly one of the coolest—and toughest—things you’ll ever do. For me, it’s always been about how the music makes me feel—like I’m alive in a way nothing else does. When I’m dancing, or singing my heart out, all the doubts kind of disappear. It’s just me and the rhythm, connecting with something bigger.
no subject
[Amari looks prepared to go into an apologetic spiel about being so freaking awkward but It looks like Zoey’s words struck a chord with her because her mouth hangs open silently. She looks very touched. Her cheeks flush and her eyes get a little watery.]
…Being an idol really is amazing, isn’t it? You’ve explained it so well. When I’m up on stage, it’s like, all the awkwardness leaves me. I’m not left out and left behind anymore. I’m part of something bigger.

Several statues tower in my fearsome name. I need not think about being an idol, I am an idol.
[Wrong kind of idol.]

Is this some sort of …bizarre manager mascot? And what’s with the angle?? Is this performance art??? At any rate, the surprise of it sends her jumping back from her spot up close to the screen.]
Hawaugh!!

Uh. Sorry. You startled me.
I … think we’re talking about different kinds of idols, though.

[He's fully aware this poor girl is just making mistakes but where's the fun in politely ignoring them?]
Are you looking to make an idol group, Katasumi-chan?
If so you should look into getting a manager or something first, probably. That way they can do all the public speaking for you and you won't have to worry about messing up your own concept!
That said I'm pretty sure I'd make a terrible idol. I'd never be able to wear the cute outfits properly meaning I'd never match with the other girls.
It'd be a disaster!
The crowds would riot over that level of asymmetry! 〣( ºΔº )〣
I could never do that to my group members, y'know?
Video > Text
[No joke the leads of one of the PriPara seasons are all associated with a favorite main carb. It’s a whole thing.
Anyway Amari quickly switches to text to match (and also hide her embarrassment.)]
I did at least have a provisional manager back home, but she’s not here.
[Yui-chan… she hopes everyone is okay back home. She has learned that time stands still while you’re in this world but that doesn’t fully assuage her worries.]
I’m not sure who’d want to represent a panicky left out idol like me long term…
[…Ahh, that’s kind of gloomy talk, isn’t it? L-Let’s change the subject!]
But anyway! Just because your outfits don’t match each other doesn’t mean you can’t be an idol! Everyone has their own unique look!
The legendary Dressing Pafe’s Sion wears a totally different brand than the other members, Dorothy and Reona! But they’re still an amazing team!
