Originally I wasn't gonna do an introduction and just let everyone have the misfortune of meeting me organically. I know it's possible that I've been here before and I've grown really fond of running into people who already know me after all!
You know, let the recognition settle in followed by that, "Oh great it's him," feeling crawl up their spine? (‾‸◝);;
Agonize over the fact that they took two seconds too long and now I've spotted them and they can't escape another unpleasant encounter with me? ε=ε=(っ*´□`)っ
And then I get to watch their expressions change as they try to figure out wtf I'm talking about or if they can escape or how quickly they can strangle the life out of me!
I've nearly been eaten by a landshark before! ヾ( •́д•̀ ;)ノ
It's always a riot! (*≧▽≦)ノシ))
Buuuuut seeing as I suck at my powers and most of you are probably pretty good at yours, I decided I'm not gonna risk my life.
So Oma Kokichi, here! That's Kokichi Oma in western order for weirdos who refer to people that way.
If you've met me before, forget whatever he ever told you because he's nothing but a liar, okay? I guarantee you nothing he ever said was important or true.
Yes, I am also a liar, but as I am the current Oma-chan here I now rank higher than him in the Official Oma Kokichi Knock Down Drag Out Battle Royale for the Crown! So my lies are way more important and always true!
(*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑
For anyone who hated past me feel free to continue hating current me because that probably won't change www
And with that out of the way I've got a couple of super important questions because today is a super important day.
1: Where is the best place to get hot coffee around here? (There IS coffee here right?)
2: Which authors in this world write the best mystery books? I'll accept anything in the genre of mystery, though something with detectives would be preferred~
3: Is there anywhere to get a dessert that isn't too sweet but not too bitter either?
I might have more later, maybe not.
Anyway, sooooo nice to meet you all, I hope we can be friends~
( ˘ ³˘)❤

i'm gonna skip over the whole lying thing
and ignore the "my lies are always true" thing
all of that feels like a whole can of worms
that i refuse to unpack.
anyway
1. moondrop
and
3. moondrop.
don't like books but you can probably find something good in amberfall
lots of libraries there.
no subject
Feels more like acknowledgement to me.
But I can respect that.
✧( ु•⌄• )
Thank you for giving me one place to go for both of those. I love that sort of convenience.
It's always the worst when you have to go to two different locations so your coffee gets cold or your dessert melts!
Amberfall is where the Autumn guild is, right?
Or whatever?
no subject
i'm okay with lying and liars
since i've had to be one
all my life!
buuuuuuut
folks don't end up lying all the time
just for kicks.
the lies are fine
but i'm gonna gently pat your can of worms
and leave it unopened.
[o]/🥫
(that's me)
(patting your can)
but
moondrop's great! good food good coffee
flowershop too
got the perfect atmosphere.
you can bring books there to read too
once you got some.
and yeah
amberfall's one of the autumn districts!
big main one
that's ALL autumn
not half autumn

I actually hate lies and liars, so I'm honest at least 33% of the time!
(((o(`・∧・´)o)))
So unhand my worms!
You don't even deserve to look at them if you're gonna treat me that way!
I'll report you to the CWPF for assault against them!
(╬ Ò ‸ Ó) ヾ( ・`⌓´・)ノ゙

Or is it a flowershop with a coffee stand in it? You know, like the stores that have a King Posts stand in them?
Either way, if it has both the coffee and the dessert AND lets me bring in books to read, I'm sold.
ヾ(〃^∇^)ノ*:・゚✧
[Much easier to have a one person birthday party if everything can be done in the same place. Sure, he could have ordered the coffee and dessert to go and just taken it all back to his apartment but that circles back around to the problem of having to go to two different places for the food and drink.
The coffee and dessert most certainly wouldn't be as good by the time he got back. Especially if it isn't even near to the apartments in the first place.]
Well being an Autumn just became about a million times better!
Do they have the most libraries out of the four? Or just lots?
If it's the latter that'll have to be fixed for sure. No way we can lose the library race!!

Seconding Moondrop for coffee and desserts. As for mystery: [She just rattles off a list of ten different Ellipsan native mystery authors she's enjoyed.]

(。◝‿◜。)
Hot or Not though? Really? THAT'S the most noteworthy thing he left for me to inherit???
Guy was seriously slacking, jeez. I'm gonna have so much work to do.
୧(๑•̀ᗝ•́)૭
Like that's worse than coming here and having nobody even know me! Oh well.
With two suggestions Moondrop's on my definitely visit list, then. Especially since the DJ says you can read there!
Can you find their books in stores and libraries? Or are they a used bookstore that stocks secret hidden gems type authors?
no subject
I found them all in Amberfall's library! They should be pretty easy to find in shops.
no subject
With such a lack luster performance, I'll definitely have to do something WAY bigger.
The Ultimate Supreme Leader of Evil can not have a reputation for just "a hot or not post"! He's brought shame to the Oma family name!
꒰╬•᷅д•᷄╬꒱
Either is good with me!
Hunting for them in used bookstores would have been fine too, I just needed to know where to start looking.
Normally I'd just go do the work myself but sometimes you just want to get the answer, get your book, and enjoy your coffee and dessert without the fuss of making some grand ordeal out of it, y'know?

I definitely like you already.
Lies and truth. Such a fun concept. Do you always tell lies or is it more the challenge of discovering which is which?
As for your questions;
1. Yes there is coffee. Plots & Patisserie has an excellent selection, as does Moondrop. Can't go wrong with either.
2. I am unsure if he writes any but Inspector Clawdius is an adorable cat detective. Look him up.
3. Yes. The Dealer's Den. A bar, restaurant, and club. The owner makes sure the dessert options are just the right balance.
4. We can definitely be friends.
I'm Max Davis. Or Davis Max in your ordering which is truly the weirdest :P
no subject
Half the fun of the concept is figuring that sort of thing out for yourself, isn't it?
Besiiiiiides since I already said I'm a liar, who's to say whatever answer I give you won't be a lie in and of itself!
(ʃƪ¬‿¬)
Not that I ever lie intentionally~
Liars who do that are simply the worst and I am definitely not the worst. I'm the best!
So, yup, I never intentionally lie.
I'll definitely check Plots & Patisserie out too, then! Though what's the "plots" portion meant to be? Books? Is it a rival flower-coffeeshop with Moondrop?
Is it some sort of weird farmer thing? If manual labor is involved I'll have to pass.
┐(´ー`)┌
Inspector Clawdius was the one running the scavenger hunt, right? If he can write up such an eloquent hunt sheet I bet he could write a mystery novel! I'll definitely have to ask him when I spot him around.
[Ask and/or encourage him to try it if he's not already an author.]
Is the Dealer's Den monster friendly? Been to a couple bar/restaurant/clubs in the past that probably would have preferred serving me for dinner, gotta make sure I'm not gonna walk into a death so early on.
And no, your ordering is definitely the weirdest. You just call each other by your first names right out the gate! It's scandalous!
(゚艸゚;)
But you're free to call me Kokichi if you want, Davis-chan~
no subject
Why ask a question if one doesn't want the answer? Especially in text. What fun is a textual rhetorical question? I ask you, truly. ( ؕؔʘ̥̥̥̥ ه ؔؕʘ̥̥̥̥ )?
Unintentional lies and only those? But is that a lie?! 〣 ( ºΔº ) 〣
It all begins! (●__● ) The spiral.
It's fun! Like a waterslide.
I think it's books. They have reading nooks. Probably have mystery novels too.
Yes. Ask the cat man. Also get a selfie with him! He loves it. Looks so cute when he poses. ♡(ू•‧̫•ू⑅)
But first names are first. That's why they're called that. And why refer to someone's family anyway? (o_O) ?
Tell me that Oma-sama.
(=ʘᆽʘ=)∫
no subject
Like asking for spoilers to a movie only to realize later that watching it is boring now because they know everything that happens.
I never give spoilers out when people ask for them, sowwy~
( ◞・౪・)
[But he definitely does when nobody wants them.]
See? You're already enjoying yourself not knowing!
°˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
But it's just a little more special when only people closest to you can call you by your first name, don't you think?
It's akin to nicknames but without running into the issue of "how do you shorten a one syllable name?" or "I call my boyfriend daddy at home and accidentally did so in front of my parents over dinner, how do I erase their memories without killing them or making them forget me?"
There's also the endless arguments about how "appropriate" or not nicknames can be.
But there's nothing inappropriate about our first names~ And no reason for our parents to be ashamed of us and want to disown us for saying them in front of them over dinner!
ଘ(੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧
Plus, if a little kid calls you by your first name because they hear someone else call you that all the time and they don't know any better, it's WAAAAAAY less creepy! It's just plain adorable instead!

Additionally, that look of barely repressed urge for strangulation sounds unsettlingly familiar. How often would you say you see it, normally? Have you noticed any consistent patterns predating its appearance?
[ how about being a dumbass on main-- ]
no subject
Besides, creeps can go ahead and try to kidnap me but they'll regret it pretty quickly after.
┆◉◡◉┆
Oh pretty often!
Usually it comes from people who either already know me or shortly after new people start talking to me.
We introduce ourselves, exchange pleasantries, talk about the weather, and then suddenly some brute's got her hand around my throat and is lifting me off the ground, threatening my life!
Actually...thinking about it now....
What if I'm cursed?!
((゚□゚;))
no subject
That indeed sounds troubling. Also very specific. If it is a curse there may be something we can do to break it, of course depending how serious you are about it. (^ω^)ノ゙(((((((((●~*
no subject
Plus usually people who hate me enough to want to kill me can't keep their dumb mouths shut anyway!
(・ั ᗜ・ั)
They love rolling in like, "You lying sack of shit, who do you think you are, I'm gonna kick your ass!"
Then I'll have their username and it takes barely any effort to trace their information with that, find their real name and photo ID, and I'll know exactly who to look out for from there.
Maybe even who to prank depending on exactly how stupid they look.
(≖‿≖)
Unfortunately I know that breaking curses usually ends with the cursed individual dead and/or emotionally/religiously traumatized, so I'll pass on the help!
But thank you for the offer, that's very kind of you~

As for your questions, I believe others have already recommended Moondrop. For literature I do lean towards more graphic or occult aligned storylines, if they would still be of interest I can name a few that I have found in Amberfall's Library.

ᕙ( : ˘ ∧ ˘ : )ᕗ
Not that I'd say no to a little guidance even if it's not normally my style to get help.
I used to use wind and lightning before and that's pretty much the complete opposite of earth anything. You can barely get anything useful out of them in co-op, even!
╰(⇀⌂↼‶)╯
[So he's been dreading how much he might actually struggle trying to learn at least the elemental options available to him...earth isn't even similar to wind or electricity!]
Sure, lay 'em on me! Mysteries of those kinds might be pretty interesting to read too I bet.
✧( ु•⌄• )
me here trying to think of ones people likely will not rp from 🤣
As for the incidents, when I arrived the sky went dark and lights went out. There were vampires and criminals trying to harm people. Thankfully it has not happened since.
{ honestly it's different to what she knew before as well, but things like seismic sense and telepathy are extremely handy skills. }
As for literature recommendations, I recommend Child of God by Cormac McCarthy in particular. However, it is more of a focus on the criminal's point of view than the detective trying to find them. I find literature that focuses on their psyche much more fascinating. If you would prefer that angle, I can think of something else.
{ honestly that novel is fucked up... apologies. 😔 }
it's fine if ppl do app from one he can just remember the title/characters differently!
<(●`∀´●)>
Sounds similar to stuff I've experienced before, though, so I'll make sure to find myself a weapon in case something happens before I learn anything.
That's a great coincidence, though! If you're willing to take on a student, I promise I only skip boring classes and always pass my tests!
✧( ु•⌄• )
I've seen others use earth powers pretty successfully and it's always been impressive. Even if it's a little hard to wrap my head around right now, I'm actually looking forward to learning something new.
Plus all the other powers on the list seem suuuuuuuuper fun and interesting.
(。◝‿◜。)
[For totally innocent reasons.]
Well as a criminal myself that doesn't bother me at all!
I enjoy stories from either point of view, so no worries there~
Though, with the mention of a fascination with their psyche, I'm gonna guess we're talking more along the lines of murderers?
[It's not often, in his experience, that people are interested in how the brains of criminals like thieves work. Or they aren't really considered "fascinating" at the very least.
So he's at least expecting it to be mildly fucked up.]

Moondrop seems the mainstream choice to answer your questions on coffee. If you'd be interested in a second option, The Last Sip is also open in Sunwaning. We don't run in direct competition and stock from local bakers and artisans.
no subject
The usual, "Oh my name is Oma-chan and I'm new and I have no idea what's going on, can someone help me?" is sooooooooooo cliche and overdone, y'know?
Same with, "Hello, I just arrived, has anyone seen any of my friends?" or, "Who does the stinky god of this place think they are kidnapping me?! I refuse to stay here! I don't care if everyone says it's impossible to leave I'm gonna do it anyway!"
Even if that last one does sometimes lead to some pretty funny updates down the line.
(ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖
I'll try whatever people suggest, honestly. Even if a ton of people seem to like Moondrop, there's definitely no saying they'll have what I consider "the best" coffee.
┐( ̄ヮ ̄)┌
[He's not even sure what good coffee tastes like anyway, or the differences between one kind to another.]
What kinda baked stuff do you got, Rag-chan? Is it just breads or do you have things like cookies and muffins and stuff too?
no subject
Yes, we have cookies, muffins, cakes, pastries. Different ones depending on which supplier we're currently showcasing.
no subject
People never think about their introduction approach, always speaking first!
Whereas I, however, aim to provide a refreshing experience every time~

Maybe even on the must visit multiple times one.
