Hey everyone, it’s Zoey! I just wrapped up a pretty intense rehearsal session, so I’m officially in cooldown mode before my legs file a complaint. But we're still working and getting ready for the next show.

[She shifts closer to the camera, smile growing.]

So I was thinking… I want to put together a playlist of duets. You know, the kind you sing with someone special. Could be romantic, could be sweet, could just be silly and chaotic. Anything that makes you want to grab someone by the hand and sing like you mean it.

[Zoey tilts her head, brushing a stray hair behind her ear.]

Send me your favorite duets, okay? I’d love to hear what songs make you think of your person.

[Offering a soft wink, and a small peace sign, she ends the video.]

A few. Going to have to try them all. I'm so used to always doing three part harmonies, or solo raps. This is gonna be really new.

Well we are working on a show. But that's not the duet's for. I just need some ideas for karaoke night so I have good choices.

This one time, I got signed up with Kyouko-chan to write and perform a love song. It was Noa-chan's idea! She's all about love! Love and following around cute girls she sees, but she's gotten better about that part. It was kinda hard to come up with since love for me is kinda everything all over the place, and Kyouko-chan, I dunno. I asked her what she thought of when she thinks of love, and then she got all blushy and "It's not like that!" What's not like what? But I think we did a good job anyway!

Well, it's been some time since I last was with someone, but when I think back on it, my mind wanders to old traditional Japanese Enka songs.

[No, he's not Japanese, he's just a weeb.]

One that's always stood out to me was Konyawa Hanasanai by Yukio Hashi and Ritsuko Abe.

Enka songs? What are those?

It's a traditional type of Japanese pop ballad. They were really common about twenty years ago, and although they are not as in fashion now, you can still find them in many karaoke houses.

Most of the themes in the genre revolve around topics of love and hardship. They tend to possess a melancholy, nostalgic beauty. ♥

Hmm, I'll have to check them out. I was kind of hoping for upbeat, but they could be fun too.

So many duet groups usually like to make more dramatic music, especially when it's about love. It certainly dwindles the options...

Maybe Sunshine by AAA? They're not quite a 'duet' group, but the parts are pretty easy to sing between two people. And it's a very peppy, catchy song about summer romance! (⁠*⁠˘⁠︶⁠˘⁠*⁠)⁠.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡

I have never been one for singing, myself... but there are many popular romantic duet compositions in my home nation of Liyue. I'm sure I could source some of them, if you're curious to hear them.

[At the mention of taking care of her voice, Zoey nods.]

Of course, totally avoiding anything harsh, and drinking plenty.

I'll totally keep it in mind. Since Dr. Han isn't here it's good to know where to get the best tonics.

Duets, huh? Hmm. I don’t know any romantic ones or anything like that, but I did do one with a friend of mine back home. I think someone sent me a video of the performance - it should be on my phone I arrived here with.

… … Not really sure how to send it from there, though? I guess I could, uh, hold it up to the screen, if you don’t mind the quality? Or we could meet up or something? Ahaha just kidding I’m sure you’re really busy.

Well, I did say with that special someone. But they don't all have to be romantic, any fun and energetic recommendations would be totally fine too.
