[Izuku is wearing some new clothes, thanks to presents from his friends, and he smiles brightly, though if one knows him well enough, they can probably tell it's not entirely there as it might usually be. While he is excited for a new year, more time with all his friends he has made here, he can't say he doesn't miss his friends back home, his classmates, Eri. His mother. All Might and Aizawa and the rest of the teachers.]

Hi everyone! I guess it's a new year now, so. If we tell each other our goals, our wishes, resolutions, whatever you want to call them, we can help support each other, right? I don't know as much about music, but I hope everyone enjoyed the concert. I know what I would want. Maybe it's kind of a lot, kind of selfish, but. There's a lot that I would ask for, or want to do!

I did hear about the tattoos. The magic ones. I hadn't really thought about them before, but how old do you have to be to get one here?

[Is there an age limit? Maybe. He's at least asking to check?]

I got a temporary one fer it pretty easy without any problems 'bout my age or anythin' like that.

I enjoyed most of the concert 'cept fer... what happened at the end of it.

As fer my resolutions, I dunno, really. Prob'ly continue ta improve my psychic abilities 'n seasonal magic?

I mean. Besides the end. Yeah.

But really? Excellent! I want to look at one, since I know if you get one of those Magic ones, they have some pretty neat abilities.

I dunno about psychic abilities, I don't have those, but I do want to learn more about the seasonal abilities, too. Get better with those.

Yeah, I got the retrocog-thingy fer mine an' the door makin' one since those might be easy ta use in a pinch.

Trainin' helps a lot with the seasonal abilities fer me, at least. That, and focusin' on specific emotions.

I was thinking about the Guardian thing, actually. The door one would definitely be useful too, though!

And yeah, it's a work in progress with the seasonal abilities. It's not like I'm not used to figuring this sort of thing though, after getting my Quirk back home so late.

Ya can get two abilities per tattoo, so if yer set on the guardian, ya can think 'bout another one.

I get it. It's kinda similar but different...

I already have something similar to danger sense. Maybe door creation? I guess the regeneration would be handy, even if I know a little from being a Spring....

If ya ain't sure, I'll let ya know if door creation's been helpful fer this expedition after.

Or if it does it'll come with some kind of draw back!
Like wishing for a lifetime of candy only for all of it to be the worst flavor!
Or wishing for a pony but getting one of those horses that are five times as tall as you, meaning you would never be able to ride it!
Or wishing for a cool secret underground lair except it's just in the sewers!!!

Happy new year, Izuku-kun! I think there's no limit. I never got one, but I know other people did a lot when they came out. I hope what happened didn't ruin our concerts for everyone... We all put so much work into it.

I'm not sure I'd say it was their fault either. But ah, well, I was thinking how some of the tattoos can give abilities, right? If I get one of the Guardian ones, but make it All Might!

Wow, really? That sounds fun! And I bet you'll be fine. No one had a problem with it when the fairies started giving them, and the age of majority is 16 here anyway. I know the legal drinking age is 18, but that's it.

[And the Shady Shop still sells booze to 16 and up anyway. Because they're shady.]

[He gets the question. Considering the reputation tattoos have, though it is gradually getting better in that regard. Izuku is well aware of the stereotypes.]

I mean. Aside from training or bathing, I tend to keep my arms covered anyway given how much of a mess they are.

Huh... You mean like scars or something?

[Says the person who doesn't hide any of her scars... including the big prominent ones on her face.]

Yeah. I guess it's not something I show too much. And my costume has gloves. So you wouldn't necessarily see it, but. They're pretty scarred. Yeah.

I guess sometimes people don't like showing that kinda thing... I think I get it. Everyone always looks at mine and gets worried. Even Neechan asked me once, a couple months ago, if I don't think I look okay. But I'm sure you must look fine. It happened to you because you were working hard for a cause!

Mm. I know. I guess I just don't want to scare or upset anyone? But it's fine. It's just part of being a hero. Helping people. Sometimes we get hurt in the process. And it took me a while to get used to figuring the limits of my Quirk. My new strength.

Yeah, I guess it does upset people... and scare them.

I guess it depends. Some people might not be so bothered. Some people might be concerned if they see. Some people might not want to show the scars, and some might be more comfortable with it. I guess I'm still working on it.

[Not minding others seeing. Not covering his arms up.]

Huh... I wonder. But if it helps, people usually get used to how I look after a while! And Louis-kun touches my face sometimes, which I don't get, but it's kinda nice of him. So maybe you'll be fine!

I'm not sure if I could ask my wish. More, it's impossible at this point, but all that I've gained feels like enough. Like something I've wanted but couldn't describe- You and Bakugo and sensei, too. I have a family; I have real friends; it's always a party in one big house-

Me? Ah, I know what you mean. We've all made friends here we wouldn't have gotten to meet back home. And I like us living together, it's sort of like the dorms back home. Even if not everyone is here.

I guess my resolution is to ask people for help more? ...But it was that last year, too...

That's okay, though. Sometimes our goals take time. You might be working on them for longer than just a few months or something. It's a good goal to have. I could probably do the same...

It's really hard. Most of the time I don't even think to ask, I'm just used to handling everything by myself.

Hm. I know what you mean. I've been so used to not really having friends to rely on. It takes time. To learn, to remember to ask them. That they want to help. But I'd help if you needed....!

I still find it odd that humans want to mark one part of a year as different from another. I suspect it's because mortals have such brief lives that they want to mark one year as being different from the next year and the year after that.

And I doubt that my wish could ever be granted, although I will still keep it to myself just in case.

It's just a way to mark the passing of time. Even back home, there's various different ways of figuring the date. Lunar New Years is later, usually a month or so after January 1st when most celebrate, for example.

No? That's okay. You don't have to tell me. Or anyone else if you don't want.
