[Young Midoriya has acquired a new (temporary) tattoo of the magical variety that just might be visible on his scarred arm since he forgot he's wearing shorter sleeves at the moment, as he laughs and plays with a new companion. That is to say, an Eevee. He's got himself another pet to add to their growing collection at their house, apparently. But somehow, Eevee just seems....appropriate. For someone like Izuku. He laughs as Eevee bounds around and plays, watching and recording for a moment before he turns the camera back to himself.]

So. I've never had a pet or anything before. I could use some name ideas? If anyone has any? At the very least, it might help narrow things down to what I wouldn't want to call them?

[Rumi smiles at this whole video and especially at that Eevee. Really cute!]

Okay, first of all? Eevee? Adorable, still surprised I didn't get one from an egg too but the starter machine somewhere there might still surprise me...

[It WILL surprise her one way or another anyway because anything, that she may get from it will be a surprise to her.]

But also do you want the name to be some kind of a theme or-- not? Desserts, food, fruits, berries, flowers, drinks, spices, stars, all pretty common along many other themes at least back home.

They're really cute! But ah, a theme? I don't know. I hadn't thought about it yet. But I guess a good start is that it's a girl? That at least helps narrow things down more?

[He glances to the Eevee as the Pokémon bounds over to him. She bounds over to between his legs and paws at the device, curious, ears shifting with the movement as she stands on her hind legs, giving Rumi a very close look at her big eye and nose.]

Pudding.

[No explanation.]

Wow, it's so cute! Hmm... I think you should give them a name that fits them, but it can also be a name that means a lot to you. I love Mecchan, but also his name was kinda picked on impulse 'cause we'd just met and he was crying and scared. But when I named Hina-chan, I had it picked before she hatched.

I didn't know what species she was gonna be, but I had two roommates I missed. One of them was the first person to go home from Ellipsa, and the other one had just disappeared recently.

[Her face falls briefly, and she bites her lip.]

But I knew they were from the same town, so I took the first character from its name, "baby bird." And even though Hina-chan isn't a bird, I named her that anyway!

Oh. I see. Yeah, I want something that fits. That means something that fits her.

[He still isn't sure he wants to comment or ever ask about Bakugo naming one of the pets Deku. How obvious it was that the blonde had missed him a lot. Izuku knows he doesn't have to figure a name immediately. But he does want to figure something sooner than later. At least, come up with a list of options.]

Hmm... What if you think about something important to you? Then you might be able to think about something that'll match! Oh, do you know what gender it is? Though there's lots of names that you could give that don't have a gender, either.

Something important? She's a girl, so.....Eri-chan? Eri-chan is important to me. I don't know if that's right? I've never had a pet or anything to have to think of names. Besides what I wanted to do for my hero name. And one of my friends back home helped me figure that out.

[Eevee shifts, ears moving as one drops lower briefly before she bounds over, clearly wanting attention and being curious as she butts in and all but presses her nose against the screen Izuku is paying attention to.]

Hm... wah, cute!

[Rinku squeals and waves at the little Eevee.]

If you don't know if it's right, why don't you give her a name that's kinda similar but not the same? Like Erian or Eriko or Erisa? There's plenty of those.

Give a bit of space, that's so close. Come here.

[Izuku says to the Eevee, picking her up and holding her at his lap as he shifts the device when she paws at it, chuckling as her tail shifts in his face, hitting his cheek.]

Like having Eri as part of the name? Hm. Maybe.

Yeah! I mean, if you wanna. She's really cute, I bet all kinds of names would work. What else did people suggest?

Pudding?

[He supposes he could kind of see it? If more of a sort of caramel thing? With the colour of the lighter brown? But Izuku isn't as sure on that sort of name. Eevee paws at the screen again, as if wanting to say hi to Rinku but the screen is rudely in the way. Or she is just curious and confused. It could go either way. At least Izuku has a decent hold of it that it doesn't drop.]

Hmm... that's pretty cute. Oh, hi, Eevee-chan! You're so cute!

[Hina flies up and squeaks curiously. New friend? Sounds a little similar to Qiuhua, but different!]

Eevee-chan is cute, but I want her to have a proper name, you know?

[Eevee's head tilts, ears shifting before she paws at the screen, hearing and seeing Hina, peering closer to the screen in curiosity.]

Maybe we should figure a play date for them or something sometime.

[Hina squeaks happily. She approves of playing with new friends!]

That sounds great! Hina-chan and Mecchan have both gotten a lot better with strangers. Mecchan doesn't usually run and hide with new Pokémon anymore, at least little ones. And Hina-chan... I think she still wants to bite everyone she meets, but at least now she asks first.

[The poutiest Zubat. She does, and those mean doctors and nurses still got mad at her in the hospital even though she asked nicely if they could share those bags of blood they were carrying around!]

Ah, I won't mind if she bites me, at least. I'm kind of used to it, with Kacchan anyway.

[Hina's smaller so it probably wouldn't hurt as much? It's fine. He's less sure how well the Eevee might take to that, but still. It would be nice for her to make friends, he figures.]

Maybe we can meet up at the park or something? That's got plenty of space for them to play and run around.

[Happy Hina noises! She can bite? Yay!!!]

That sounds fun! Which park? I know Blossomcrown Central Park is huge, they have everything in there.

Yeah! That sounds fine to me. Just let me know when and I can meet you there. Oh - ah, I should ask and check, right? If she needs any vet care or anything before I take her out and about with me?

[Is it like dogs? Vaccinations and stuff? He has no idea.]

Katsu? [Right to food.]

Ah! Like katsudon? The food?

[Izuku considers for a moment, before getting distracted by the observation about his arm.]

Oh. This? Y-yeah. I had thought about it for a while. It's just a temporary one. I figured some of the abilities you can get from them might be useful.

[ At the sound of another Pokemon, there seems to be a Quaxly on the feed that makes a loud quack in the background behind Megumi before it waddles over to the camera and headbutts it, causing a silly response (at first): ]

Oi, Maru!

[ Another quack. ]

If ya wanna reply, ya ain't gotta hit the camera. [ To which the Quaxly nods and waddles backwards, allowing Megumi to adjust it, clearing her throat. ] Sorry 'bout that. I bet ya already got a whole buncha neat responses, but I think namin' a Pokemon is all gonna depend on ya and yer partner. I named Maru over here 'cause she reminded me of Tama and it stuck 'cause she liked it. So ya prob'ly gonna want ta see what she likes, really.

Maru-chan? Ah! Hello!

[Eevee chirps, tilting her head and trying to paw at the screen again, curious and excited to see other friends. Or, potential friends.]

Oh. So she reminded you of a friend? Yeah. I know there's no real rush about it, but. I want to give her a nice name, not just 'Eevee-chan', you know?

[ At the sound of their name, the Quaxly quacks and waves with one of its wings with a bright smile. ]

Yeah. She's kinda like Tama, so I named her somethin' similar.

[ Since 'tama' means ball and 'maru' means round. ]

Makes sense. Though I ain't gonna blame anyone fer callin' them by their species name. It happens all the time in the Pokemon world.

[ GIRL YOU AIN'T EVEN FROM THE POKEMON WORLD-- ]

Tama is 'ball', right? Yeah, that makes sense. Since 'Maru' is 'round'. It's cute....!

[He tilts his head a little at that.]

Oh? Do you have these creatures back home? Is that where you're from?

[He asks as Eevee tries to reach to bat at the screen in response to the Quaxly waving at her, ensuring the phone is out of reach for her.]
