The video feed is, strangely, of a television set. One with large cyan on red eyes and a wide smile showing on it's screen. It has antennae sprouting from the top of it and... wait... is that shoulders? A neck? The TV's smile widens, showing rows of sharp teeth. The figure leans back in his chair, spreading his arms wide for a moment as he does.
"Hello, Ellipsa!" Bright and cheerful, his tone is friendly and warm. "I figured it was a good time to introduce myself and start getting the word out there~"
He straightens forward again, folding his hands on the desk, neatly.
"My name is Vox and I'm the founder and CEO of Voxtek, the most trusted and influential name in entertainment and technology! At least, back where I come from it is, of course. I've been informed that I was brought here to help out with the Darkness plaguing this world and, while that's a noble cause and all, I also come with a set of talents that could be used for so much more!"
He brings his hands up, steepling his clawed fingers together.
"First and foremost, I am a journalist and entertainer. I'm planning to start not only a regular news and information broadcast service, I would also like to begin creating new and exciting television and streaming shows! We may all be here to help save the world but why shouldn't we also be entertained and dazzled at the same time?"
He gestures at the screen with his held together hands.
"That's where you all come in! I'm looking for talent! Theater. Music. Arts. Film. But also things such as technology and computer science! The people of Ellipsa deserve the very best of tech not only to take on their dangerous missions but also for their downtime! I'm looking for inventors and creators. People who want to make waves in the world of technology. Together, we can bring Ellipsa a brighter future in more ways than simply fighting this Darkness!"
He smiles, charmingly, bringing a hand to his chest.
"I built a company that brought joy and information to the hopeless masses once. Here, I have the opportunity to do something similar. I hope you all will join me and get in on the ground level of the new Voxtek~"

Sorry not sorry.... video | un: Pop Star Royalty
Aaaaaanyway, she is here to start with the obvious.]
You're a talking TV . . .
[ That icon made me snerk ]
*All said very charmingly and playfully but he smiles*
However, I'm guessing you mean 'of my own volition' in which case, yes, I am. After a fashion, at least. It's a wee bit more complicated than just 'a talking TV'.
And who do I have the pleasure of speaking to? Might I say, you have a face that clearly launched a thousand ships~
[ I really should use that icon more often XD ]
[She is not gonna explain or even argue. Much. Probably. They both know what she meant.]
Yes, that. And isn't it always more complicated...? Oooooookay, you know I really probably shouldn't even be all that surprised anymore after everything here and after all the demon forms that I've seen back home because they could be anything too...
Rumi, the leader and lead singer of k-pop girl trio called Huntrix, though I can also play guitar and piano and I may just be about to get into playing violin too... But aside from us being singers, we're also demon hunters -- here it mostly means amazing fighting skills for quests and other situations where they are needed, not us going after all the demons and others, who have also arrived here just like us.

Singers and exorcists? Isn't that... interesting.
*he tilts his head*
Angel, then? I haven't run into many who go without halos like that. Unless they're fallen, of course.
video; un: gaine
Music, hm? I'm not sure what you're looking for, but I can sing and play some instruments. [ And it's been a while since she bothered, since she can't go near the music club. ]
Re: video; un: gaine
Re: video; un: gaine
Re: video; un: gaine
Katana? What's that?
Re: video; un: gaine
[ She pulls out a very shiny and unique sword with channels going down the blade for some reason and a glowing red gem embedded near the hilt. She's a tiny thing and looks like she'd fall over attempting to use a blade like this. ]
Demonstrations available upon request.
Re: video; un: gaine
Now that's eye catching! Are you one of those 'kung-fu fighters'? We get a lot of requests for those back where I'm from to lead in our Action movies. I'd love the chance to watch you strut your stuff with that blade.
Re: video; un: gaine
Sure, whenever you like. I'm pretty impressive with it. [ She'll have to slow down so he can see it but he's a TV, surely he can slow-mo some things? ]
Re: video; un: gaine
Have you ever thought about breaking into movies and cinema? Make your way to stardom?
Re: video; un: gaine
Not really. For one thing, my existence was this big secret for reasons that are kind of a long story. And for another, stardom was kind of a loaded concept for me for a while. Another long story.
[ She's willing to try again, and she's also prepared for her husband to think she's nuts. But he's been encouraging her to get herself out there, and she desperately wants to de-Diva herself from these concepts, so... ]
But I like performing and you seem genuine.

Technology, with a focus on cybernetic enhancements and interdimensional travel, are my specialties. The most trusted is quite the claim. And you wish to replicate your success here, correct?
Re: Video - UN: For-The-Damaged-Coda
Interdimensional travel is a new one. I'm guessing, since you're still here, that it's not exactly been a successful venture in this place?
Oh, it's not just a claim. It's a fact! Voxtek News is the leading source of information and up to the minute news on everything that happens in Pentagram City and even outside of it. We pride ourselves on earning our viewers trust and keeping it.
Re: Video - UN: For-The-Damaged-Coda
That's just one example. And yes. This world has something powerful keeping my portal gun from moving beyond this realm. Even researching the portal guns that work in this world only link to other connected worlds. Which is a problem. Seems Ellipsa has its down Central Finite Curve.
And how are you planning to gain trust here?
Re: Video - UN: For-The-Damaged-Coda
Now that's a way to get attention! Bravo! Interesting, though. You've been doing work on yourself, then? Not someone else doing so on you?
By simply being trustworthy! Earning the trust of the people takes time and effort. Dedication. But it's something I'm not against working towards. I've done it before, I can do it again. Let's face it, the harder someone tries to act and seem trustworthy, the more suspicious people will be of them. I plan to simply let my actions, my entertainment and my tech speak for itself.
Re: Video - UN: For-The-Damaged-Coda
[He will just leave out that a lot of it was invented by Rick and he improved upon the design.]
A sound strategy. I'll sign up. Get in on the ground floor, so to speak.
Yo, Shark Boy - where's Lava Girl?
Re: [Video | un: ceruleanwanderlust]
I beg your pardon?
Re: [Video | un: ceruleanwanderlust]
I thought you said you were into media?
You don't know Lava Girl then? Lame.
Re: [Video | un: ceruleanwanderlust]
I am! By being the biggest name in media and tech back where I come from. That's a little different than being a couch potato.
Also, as far as I'm aware, we all come from different worlds. You do realize it's entirely possible that whatever reference you're making just plain doesn't exist anywhere else..?
Re: [Video | un: ceruleanwanderlust]
Oh yeah, definitely, Baby Girl. It's more just funny since there's a movie out there called Shark Boy and Lava Girl. Some kid's spy flick with powers I think. I didn't actually watch it, it's just got a funny name.
Re: [Video | un: ceruleanwanderlust]
Sooo... you're referencing something you've never actually watched yourself?
un: abnormalitylover, video
As much as the prospect of working for a sexy TV does appeal, I'm already comfortably employed by the Research Center in my tech career here. What do you have to offer that they don't?
OH NO EVANGELINE oh she's in for a surprise (and so is Vox cause he's pre-scary box)
An excellent position, I'm sure! Having the opportunity to develop and create things to help people on their missions here, I'm guessing?
*he sighs, his smile getting crooked*
At this point, I'll be frank, I can't offer anything truly outstanding. I can, however, offer the chance to get in on the ground floor and have the opportunity to move up in the ranks quickly, just as with any founding company. I have decades of experience behind me and, given the situation I crawled my way to the top in before, I'm sure Ellipsa will prove to be much easier to succeed and flourish in. Any and all who are there from early on will get all the benefits that should come with that sort of thing! Being a founding member of Voxtek will come with lifetime benefits.

I'm sympathetic, though, my world sucked too. What was yours like, if I can ask?
[Even if she doesn't end up working for him, it's still good to give a warm welcome and a listening ear.]

You raise a good point, though. I have a lot to learn about this place and I'd love any and all help I could get with that. You sound like you've been here a long time. Have you thought about becoming a liaison of some sort? Like I said, I haven't much to offer as of yet, but I'm willing to learn in order to grow.
*he hums and his smile grows wry*
It was Hell. Literally. Nothing metaphorical about that. Pentagram City, the biggest in the Pride ring and all of Hell for that matter.
no subject
Oh, some of my best friends come from hell. Have you met Lucifer? Fallen angel, sweet dork who loves ducks?
no subject
*oh, that brings Vox to stillness and he blinks a couple of times*
Lucifer? Like the Lucifer? The Morningstar? King of Hell? He's your friend?
no subject
[But more importantly-]
That's him! Me and Lucy hit it off basically as soon as he showed up, I'd say he's one of my best friends here. Do you two know each other?
un: spinjockey
[Look. The Other TV:tm: is looking for talent, and despite being a serial killer, Chipp is also a performer, okay.
Not just music, either - he's got plenty of other tricks up his sleeves!!]
Re: un: spinjockey
What's your forte?
no subject
[Or head. But he thinks it's funny hiding the nature of his helmet from the actual TV head.]
As for my forte - I got tons for ya. Music's the biggun - guitar, piano, singin', whatever. Just don't expect me to dance much; ain't like I can't, just somethin' I don't like doin' too often.
I got comedy too, though! Nothin' better out there than makin' folks laugh.
But, y'know... that Arts Festival is comin' up at the end of the month. I'll be performin' for it!
If you wanna see what I can do live for yourself, I mean.
