Hello there, everyone! My name is Hazel and I've got a little survey to ask of you legal-drinking adults!

I am a botanist and a florist who aspires to open her own bar some day. It'll take some work - but that's my goal!
It probably shouldn't come as any surprise that it's going to be a plant themed bar!
Which leads me to the survey I want to ask all of you today ...

I want to generate some ideas for a menu and experiment with different drinks to serve.
If I can get an idea for everyone's taste, it'll really help out! What I'd like to know is:

1. What's your favourite flower? Any reason why?
2. What's your favourite drink? Or just your favourite flavours overall!
3. Your favourite colour?
4. Tell me one random fact about yourself! (Just for fun!)

Hah, I might take you up on that! I have many abilities but strength isn't one of them.

Feel free; I wouldn't mind.

At the same, what are some of the abilities that you have?

[faezel]

Ooh, um ...

I can make flowers grow, that's my primary ability. Just pink roses, specifically. Like most fairies, I can also shapeshift ... I can fly, of course, and I can manipulate plants. But that's more of a defensive skill.

A fairy?

I'm sorry, but I think I might have missed that if you introduced yourself as one. Wow. I've never spoken to a fairy before, but I see what you meant about your abilities.

[faezel]

Haha, oopsie! I tend not to mention it off the bat because I'm never sure how people will take to it. Some humans really don't like fairies and can be quite fearful of them ... so I'm a little bit nervous about being forthright regarding what I am.

[vivens]

It makes sense. I can understand that apprehension.

Fortunately, you won't have to worry about that with me. The only kind of fairies that I've known of are the ones in stories, however, I've always been fond of them.

[faezel]

You have? Well, that's certainly nice to hear!

[vivens]

Please forgive me if I accidentally make any assumptions about fairies, but they were always portrayed as mischief makers in the stories that I was most fond of.

Relatable territory for my child self.

[faezel]

Haha, no need to worry! I'm used to hearing that sort of thing. Humans have made all sorts of imaginative stories about fairies, especially scary ones. I can't guarantee that not all fairies are nice, but from my own personal experience, I think the good ones vastly outweigh the bad ones. But those stories aren't nearly as interesting.

How kind of you. I'm not entirely sure what I would do if I was put in a similar situation.

However, putting it that way, it would only make sense that fairies are just as varied in their temperament as humans...or any creature with a personality of their own.

Yes, exactly this!

Some humans are really interested in my kind ... it's kind of startling how much they've learned! Are you familiar with the concept of the language of flowers at all? How each flower has a different meaning?

The traits that have been documented by humans really resonate with the fairies who grow that type of flower. It's so cool! A little bit scary, but cool! My own flower has been documented as "desire, passion, joy of life, youth, energy" which might be accurate! I certainly am energetic!

I can only speak about myself, however, I've always loved stories of faraway places and grand adventures. Naturally that also means I love hearing about all of the sights and creatures met along the way.

Language of flowers? Hm, no. I'm not too familiar with that but if that's the meaning of a pink rose then I would also agree with it. Even through just the text alone, it's very obvious.

I assume that a forget-me-not would stand for its namesake?

[faezel]

Yes, forget-me-nots mean "never forget me." But they also mean "true love."

[vivens]

"True love"... I see.

Does it specify what kind of love?

[faezel]

Nope! It's just true love.

But there are some flowers that specify different types of love! Acacia means "secret love." Narcissus means "unrequited love." Primrose means "eternal love." A purple rose means "love at first sight."

And so on!

[vivens]

Hmm. So, should I jokingly interpret that this world has true love for me?

[faezel]

Well ... if you want to! We can't always predict our destinies, can we?

[vivens]

I wouldn't think it's much of a manner of want, but I'd certainly hate the idea of my destiny being decided for me one way or another.
