[The camera turns on and Flynn is staring at someone off camera, frowning slightly before he looks back at the recording device. He opens his mouth to speak, then shuts it, and then finally he relaxes. He gives the camera a smile and a nod of acknowledgement]

I was told that this device can record me and put my words onto a network.

[Flynn gives a small wave.]

Consider this a practice round for me. I'm Flynn Scifo, and I hope to get along with everyone.

[He looks back over to whoever is off camera and cocks his head to the side.]

Is that good?

[The blond looks back at the camera and gives a sheepish grin.]

[With that the video cuts off.]

[Nights out. Flynn feels weird about the way he said it. He pushes that feeling a little down, after all it's Yuri and he's his own person.]

Of course I like steak, I don't get to eat it all that often.

[It was expensive after all.]

We don't need to get steak.

Who said anything about need. It's your first day here, you're all — traumatized. We should be doing everything we can to make it as comfortable as possible.

[ He is now checking his phone for a place that would serve steak. ]

Trauma- I am not traumatized! Just a little concerned!

[Flynn huffs and takes a look at Yuri as he turns his attention to his phone.]

I'm less concerned because you're here.

[at_heart]

Of course you're traumatized, you got transported to a totally different planet with no warning and no way back. That's inherently traumatic.

[ you might've said other things and they might've been incredibly embarrassing but he's not acknowledging them so it's like they never happened ]

After everything we've been through back in our world, I feel pretty open minded. I don't like it, but you're here so I feel a little better about the situation.

[He's not traumatized. He's strong okay? Of course, does he look a little wary, yes.]

How do you feel?

[at_heart]

[ What does strength have to do with trauma. ]

Hungry.

[ Is that. Is that not a helpful answer. Stop saying embarrassing things. ]

—Okay, this place should do it. They've got, like... diner food? I think that's the word. Their steak's not gonna be fancy, but it will be cheap, [ so you won't feel so indebted to him, ] and it's right around the corner.

[ Yuri will get the salmon. Or failing that, maybe he'll just have ice cream. ]

Huh. I'll follow your lead.

[Flynn waits for him to lead the way, falling silent for the moment. He's just looking between Repede and Yuri.

He wants to talk, but it feels a little awkward.]

How long have you been here?

[at_heart]

Here? Almost three months.

[ Repede lags behind a little to pad beside Flynn. ]

That seems to be a lot of what people are saying. You look good for being here for three months.

[Flynn smiles to Repede, thankful the dog is by his side. It eases the unease he's been feeling. Seeing Yuri helps too, but it just feels weird.]

I heard about Brave Vesperia being a guild here too. It seems like you've been busy.

[at_heart]

I'm supposed to look bad? You were expecting rags and unwashed hair?

[ —Ah. That. ]

Not Brave Vesperia. That's back home. Brave Vesperia Ellipsa. It's... a local branch. I thought Karol'd like it.

[bravestknight]

Not at all. I'm glad you look like you do, I know you can take care of yourself, Yuri. It's just nice to see that I'm right.

[Listening he looks around and nods to himself.]

I think you're right, Karol would like it.

[at_heart]

[ For some reason that's only getting his hackles up more. Yuri pushes out a breath, then determinedly leads Flynn into the restaurant. ]

I've got a few part-time jobs, too.

[bravestknight]

Oh? What do you do?

[He obviously is just happy to see the other, so he follows along even hearing the audible sigh that Yuri let's out. He looks around and then back at Yuri.]

[at_heart]

Eh, you know. [ A vague gesture. ] Stuff. Like I'm doing some part-time bouncing for someone's bar.

[ Very similar to what he did for the Comet, once he was like, seventeen and big enough for it. ]

Oh? Nice. Something that's familiar then.

[He looks around where they are and makes a soft noise at the back of his throat.]

I'm not sure what I can do while I'm here. I should probably figure out some place to help out though.

[Already he's ready to get to work.]

[at_heart]

[ He does not know how to handle all of this approval. ]

There's a police force. They seem to be — on the up-and-up, for once.

[bravestknight]

[He sighs and nods as he looked down at his hands.]

Things were getting better back home, you know.

[at_heart]

What? I know.

[bravestknight]

[Of course he knew. Flynn goes quiet and sighs again, looking around. He's just trying to keep busy, and he doesn't want to show how rattled he is about everything.]

Just when we were making progress.

[He shakes his head out and murmurs]

Never mind. It looks like this place needs help too, right?

[at_heart]

[ ... ]

Are you okay?

[ It is. Entirely possible that he's only now actually seeing you, instead of the Flynn who's been living rent-free in his head for the last eight or nine months. ]

[bravestknight]

I don't know.

[It's easy to answer honestly. He's not sure he's okay at all, and he won't hide that from Yuri because if there was one person he could be like this with, it was Yuri to a certain extent.]

It doesn't matter either way. I'm here and I'm willing to do what I can to help.

[at_heart]

The hell is that supposed to—

[ Oh, right, restaurant. Yuri irritably shifts gears to respond to the hostess, smiling for her and agreeing that they need a table for two, then following her over to said table, still smiling until she's gone.

At which point he fairly seamlessly turns back to Flynn and scowls again. ]

Of course it matters if you're okay.

What are you going to do if I'm not?

[What could Yuri do if he wasn't? He really had no choice but to accept the way things were for now. It wasn't like he could demand to go back to their world.

That scowl was familiar, and it just made him feel like pushing a little more, but because they were in public he set his jaw.]

I'll be fine.

[at_heart]

[ Just, bewildered. ]

What am I going to do?

[ He'll — be upset? Try to make you feel better??? ]

[Flynn quietly sits there, his eyes flicking down to the table between them. His fingers trace over the table in front of him and he clenches his teeth.

It takes a moment and he rolls his shoulders back.]

I'm not okay. But I will be.
