[The camera turns on and Flynn is staring at someone off camera, frowning slightly before he looks back at the recording device. He opens his mouth to speak, then shuts it, and then finally he relaxes. He gives the camera a smile and a nod of acknowledgement]

I was told that this device can record me and put my words onto a network.

[Flynn gives a small wave.]

Consider this a practice round for me. I'm Flynn Scifo, and I hope to get along with everyone.

[He looks back over to whoever is off camera and cocks his head to the side.]

Is that good?

[The blond looks back at the camera and gives a sheepish grin.]

[With that the video cuts off.]

[Of course he knew. Flynn goes quiet and sighs again, looking around. He's just trying to keep busy, and he doesn't want to show how rattled he is about everything.]

Just when we were making progress.

[He shakes his head out and murmurs]

Never mind. It looks like this place needs help too, right?

[ ... ]

Are you okay?

[ It is. Entirely possible that he's only now actually seeing you, instead of the Flynn who's been living rent-free in his head for the last eight or nine months. ]

I don't know.

[It's easy to answer honestly. He's not sure he's okay at all, and he won't hide that from Yuri because if there was one person he could be like this with, it was Yuri to a certain extent.]

It doesn't matter either way. I'm here and I'm willing to do what I can to help.

[at_heart]

The hell is that supposed to—

[ Oh, right, restaurant. Yuri irritably shifts gears to respond to the hostess, smiling for her and agreeing that they need a table for two, then following her over to said table, still smiling until she's gone.

At which point he fairly seamlessly turns back to Flynn and scowls again. ]

Of course it matters if you're okay.

What are you going to do if I'm not?

[What could Yuri do if he wasn't? He really had no choice but to accept the way things were for now. It wasn't like he could demand to go back to their world.

That scowl was familiar, and it just made him feel like pushing a little more, but because they were in public he set his jaw.]

I'll be fine.

[at_heart]

[ Just, bewildered. ]

What am I going to do?

[ He'll — be upset? Try to make you feel better??? ]

[Flynn quietly sits there, his eyes flicking down to the table between them. His fingers trace over the table in front of him and he clenches his teeth.

It takes a moment and he rolls his shoulders back.]

I'm not okay. But I will be.

[at_heart]

Is that a fact. Because you look like you're about two minutes away from popping a blood vessel.

[bravestknight]

Yes. It's a fact.

[Now it's Flynn's turn to be a little grumpy.]

I can handle this.

[He's not going to let this keep him down for long.]

[at_heart]

I didn't say you couldn't—

[ What even is this conversation right now. Apart from being interrupted by the waiter, because again, they're in a restaurant, but this time Yuri just stares at Flynn through the waiter's whole speech about today's specials. What would you like to drink, Flynn, because Yuri's just going to say, ]

Water's fine.

[bravestknight]

Water sounds great.

[Flynn smiles at the waiter and then turns back to Yuri, he looks at him. Unsure of what is happening with this conversation, but he can't really bring himself to look at Yuri at the moment.

He's being a jerk, so he sucks in a breath and murmurs softly.]

Sorry.

[at_heart]

[ ...Old patterns. Some he doesn't mind falling back into; some he does. ]

...If you asked me if I was okay, and instead of giving you a real answer I told you it didn't matter? And then tried to tell you there wouldn't be anything you could do for me if I wasn't okay?

I feel like you wouldn't love that.

[bravestknight]

You're right. I wouldn't.

[He goes quiet and looks at him.]

What I meant is we are here and it's harder to do things about how I feel here. Does that make sense?

[at_heart]

[ ... ]

It makes sense. It's still bullshit.

[ And then, very abruptly, ]

Where are you staying?

[bravestknight]

[Flynn sighs and is about to retort when Yuri asks about where he's staying.]

At the place they gave us to stay at. It's a small room, but comfortable.

[He smiles.]

It's just temporary, so I'll have to figure out where to go sooner or later.

[at_heart]

[ That gets you a wolf-dog whine, buddy, and Yuri agrees. ]

"Figure out where to go"?

[ He's... ] [ They haven't lived together since they were in the Knights together, and 'his' house is full of people he sleeps with, but they do have spare rooms, and... ]

[bravestknight]

[Flynn quietly plays with the menu in front of him. Kind of going quiet.]

Well, yes. I need a place after this one, so I am thinking about seeing if I can get something similar after I start working.

[Flynn looks to Repede and smiles, brushing his hand through his hair at the whine.]

What's wrong Repede? Don't like that I don't have a stable place yet? I'll be okay.

[at_heart]

[ Thanks, he hates it. ]

—We've got the room. Literally.

[ And now he's offered, so now Flynn can say no, and then he'll. He doesn't know. Go punch something, maybe. ]

[bravestknight]

We haven't lived together since--

[He stops petting Repede and leaves his hand on his head kind of scritching with his fingers but not moving anything else. He lets out a slow breath and murmurs.]

Are you sure?

[He doesn't know the people Yuri lives with well yet, and he's not sure that he wouldn't be in the way.]

[at_heart]

[ Well, way to make him feel even more self-conscious about the offer. At least Flynn isn't looking at him like he grew a second head or anything. ]

One of the things you can get every month like clockwork is this... item that adds extra rooms to your house, and we've got five people, so. We've got a lot of extra rooms already.

[bravestknight]

I see.

[He thinks on it for several moments before he nods.]

Okay, I'll live in your house with you, but only after the two months are up.

[It'll give Yuri some time to get used to him and make sure he actually wants him there.]

[at_heart]

[ Just ratcheting up even more self-conscious, hi. A bit of a short, barking laugh. ]

What is this, a free trial? If I change my mind in 60 days, I get my money back?

[bravestknight]

I just want to settle in for a little bit. After the two months of being in the apartment I'll move there.

[He puts down the menu and looks at him.]

Do you want me to move in right away? Don't you need to talk to the others?

[at_heart]

[ Self-consciousness levels reaching criticality. ]

I mean, if you'd rather take one of the starter apartments, don't let me stop you.

[bravestknight]

I'd rather be with you.

[Flynn tells him softly, honestly.]
