Hi all.

I've found in my travels that the best ways to get to know a community are to see what people do in their off time and find out where they go. So. Tell me anything.

What are your favorite places to eat?

What do you do with your time?

What are popular activities or hobbies around here?

For my own interestes, I have a few specifics:

Where is the nearest record shop?

Does anyone need an archival specialist? Data engineer? Librarian?

Also-- Does anyone know of a half decent mechanic that will follow instructions?

This is Also Athena. Not expecting to meet an Actual God.

...Ironically, given how they were just coming down off of making a deal with the son of an entity that sounded downright Dionysian from everything they understood of the world. It had not been a simple ordeal, but nothing of value was ever simple. They threw the right to simplicity away when they allowed the cybernetic modifications to be done to their body while they were at the threshold of Death itself.

It wasn't as if Athena could even see other options at that point.

Their heart itself seemed as if it had formed a sticky glob in what passed as their throat-- a tactile signal that was noticeable while they caught their breath.

I'm just a nerd that likes the Greeks a little too much. It was a favorite subject of mine in college, and I borrowed Athena's name as my tag for online strategy games during a long recovery after an accident.

I hope she didn't mind. I needed the strength and wisdom of the Goddess of War Tactics at that point, and the name stuck.

That accident is part of why I asked for a mechanic, if you happen to know one.

But, so I don't bore the God of Sleep, we don't have to get into specifics. I don't wish to be struck insomniac again.

Fruit pies sound excellent, and I would certainly love to try the local fare. Which ones are your favorite? And, where are your favorite places to nap?

i have no idea what a lot of what you said means individually and definitely not when strung together. still learning a lot about the things in this place. not sure what a mechanic is supposed to do. might be worth using that little search thing on the phone device thing we are using to talk. it was useful for me!

i like raspberries and blueberries a lot

and i liked to nap around in parks especially if you make your way into the trees

people will leave you alone a lot it turns out if you just sleep randomly in the trees

That's the core of it, anyway.

It's been years since I hit the books, but I recall Hypnos as kind of keeping out of the messier affairs unless specifically asked. I guess you have too much napping to do to bother with it, huh? That helps me feel a little better, now.

Rasberries and blueberries sound REALLY good right now. I think pie with cream, a coffee, and a nap in a tree sounds like a good way to spend an afternoon.

i like the peace and quiet as much as i can get which you do not really get with the olympians. and i like the underworld. and time in the house of hades is a lot of fun. i get to greet people who come out of styx.

i mean it must be nice to see a welcoming face like mine especially if they were just with one of my brothers.

a bit more of a make sure you have a peaceful sleep though. i am the good guy. and i don't trick girls by turning into random animals so that's a big plus.

I know a thing or two when it comes to mechanics- but a lot of that is for self-repair/repair of others when possible, or aiding in keeping a power grid going. Been keeping an eye out for mechanics as well, just to know what my options are other than myself.

Otherwise- I spend a lot of free time listening to the vinyl I have on my record player, or checking out the book shops around Amberfall. That place has a lot of them.

Oh gods. Zeus is the WORST!

But now I'm curious-- what is Hades like as a boss? I always imagined him as being sort of like a long suffering accountant who really loves his wife. He's God of the Dead, not Death. That's for Thanatos to deal with.

And, maybe Hermes. Mostly Thanatos though.

You're just the nerd I'm looking for.

My arm hasn't worked right for a while now, and something shorted out when I broke up a cat fight this morning. I'd fix it myself, but I'd need to pop it off and have both hands to do that.

You see the problem?

We can listen to my Pink Floyd LP while we work on this, if you want. It's my favorite from my office. Or, you can bring whatever records will fit on a rebuilt Crosley that you want.

I won't have you work for free, so I'll find a way to pay you back for all this.

Can definitely see the problem there. Luckily I'm also good at following instructions- definitely want to make sure everything is covered.

Good taste in music by the sounds of it already- I've got four vinyls that came with me if you interested in the Stooges, the Ramones, the Beatles, or Iggy Pop; any of them might fit because I have made due back home before.

Reasons I got headphones that can plug into mine as well.

I don't mind just helping out, but if you do find a way I won't turn it down. Tell me where I need to go and I can get there- and I'm pretty easy to spot, I think.

Excellent music choices. I wish some more of my collection met me here.

Maybe we're both noticeable. I haven't met others who like to dress like a retro bowling alley.

I'm rooming with someone in the provided housing. He's a tall, tough gentleman, but don't mind him. He knows you're coming.

Top favorite bands, and Iggy Pop holds a special place- Same though. I've been looking for places that sell any, but so far no luck. Could be looking in the wrong places of course.

Clothes are one of the best ways to express yourself after all! And stickers I've found hold on pretty well to me.

Noted! Be on good behavior just to not worry him more than how surprising I can look to those not used to my kind.

There's a kid in town that practices Kendo and sounded keen to start a collection. He might know a few places.

Stickers are great. I have a few on my little recording drones, to tell them apart. They have custom paint jobs too. They're just triggering for the cat that caused the problems today so they're on standby for now. If we can corral the cat, I'll show you.

You've mentioned that you're unique multiple times now. What am I looking for?

Because trusting a stranger with the functionality of your dominant hand is a very intimate thing?

You are handsome but we just met recently-- there's nothing here unless you want it to be.

That's good to know, honestly.

That's honestly a really neat idea! Friend I worked with some time ago started sticking band decals on my arm because she thought they looked neat- and because I couldn't get tattoos as easily as she could. She's also who introduced me to Iggy Pop one day in the lab.

Us Lucians are quite dedicated to the ethos of our society, especially since House Caelum are the guardians of the Crystal that brings forth light. Every aspect of our culture revolves around the cultivation of that light in hopes of staying off the darkness that encroaches our world.

[His people are deathly afraid of the darkness for one reason, daemons. It’s only normal for people to fear the dark but when there’s actual monsters involved, of course everyone will cling to the light.]

I, for one, don’t find your intrigue silly. Honestly, I wish others were more inclined to learn about other cultures and lore. I suspect Cor already told you I possess a love for such topics.

Oh, you have a cat? How cute! I’ve been thinking about getting another pet, especially since tonberries aren’t exactly friendly pets. However, Tonitrus is actually rather sweet despite being a little feisty at times.

These little monsters typically carry knives but I have him a toy knife instead out of…genuine concern.

The cat has respectable levels guts and attitude. I admire her for it, if we're being honest.

Cats do not seem to care to let their size stop them from many, many things. It's respectable, and they can maneuver out of a lot of things that I've seen.

Will do. Got any treats they might like? Sometimes food can be the key, if electric cats like treats.
