{ despite the topic of today, ayato does actually keep the camera on. he’s had a few days to process things by now, he’s had time to pull back on whatever mask is needed for this. }

Following today the abandoned mansion near the airship station will be closed off to everyone.

The seasonal power holders have worked together to create a barrier. The reason for this is simple, there is something in there that is unlike anything we’ve seen before. My companion and I entered that building on May 29th with the goal of trying to ensure it could be used as a safe spot. Unfortunately, both of us died in that place.

I’ve attached a document with the knowledge we acquired from fighting it in case it sounds similar to anything you’ve encountered before. I also have a video that can be requested. Olwen has contacted researchers to start analysing what it may be, but any similarities may help.

I will not be answering personal questions on the matter. Please keep this informational.

Things to note:

Actual size is unknown, from what we could gather it grows to fit whatever container it has. This means if it gets out it could very well grow larger than anything we’ve seen before.

It seems to devour only living things, including plant life. Dendro cores were useless against it, yet it spat out anything such as furniture.

Cutting off its arms seemed to only grow more.

Arms can apply effects, known ones are:

Silence

Burning

Stun

Poison

Hallucination (though this may be related to the poison used)
The air around it seemed to be poisonous as well. Potentially draining magical energy, at least it felt much harder to use powers from here after being near it.

The spirits in the mansion did not want this to leave either, and worked to seal it inside.

What...died...the Abandoned Mansion in the Autumn Segment, yes?

[She could feel her hands starting to shake. She'd been there, with Homura, and explored part of that place herself. But it sounded like this person had fought with something much, much worse than the entity that attacked them.]

I, ah, I'm sorry. I shouldn't be asking such things when you said as such- do excuse me. I will send over what information I have as well.

[She'll end the call there, and a good half hour later she attaches some information on the mansion of her own.]

Toward the end of March myself and a friend went to investigate the Abandoned Mansion as well. I was hoping to find out if perhaps the Wisps from that quest were originating from there. We only explored the ground floor, but encountered a monster that could move too quickly to be seen until we were able to freeze it, one that reversed time around itself. It took the form of a mothman type creature that used shadowy vines to attack us. After defeating it and exploring the rest of that floor we took our leave, but...I'm sorry we did not take our search further.

Did seasonal magic effect it in any way? I noticed on some of my explorations that it makes a difference.

Yes, in the Autumn segment. It was upstairs, behind one of the doors. Unfortunately out of six doors it was the one we happened to start with.

For what it's worth, I'm glad you didn't go up that far.

Neither of us have the correct abilities to have given it a try. My abilities are with earth, and after their plant abilities were eaten it seemed rather like a foolish idea to give it more fuel.

There's a reason a barrier has been put in place. Until more research has been completed, no one will be going in there.

It is completely sealed off. No one goes in, that thing doesn't come out.

I would rather have more certainty before people blindly go running in and endure the same fate.

[ Beyond that, Saya's not mortal, and neither is the person she'd want to take down there with her. Between their near-invulnerability and their fire abilities, there might be a chance. But she'll speak to the power holders about that, not pester Ayato with it. ]

If they think that's best. Although I'm not sure what research can be conducted with a barrier up.

I didn't ask. Though while he didn't know what it was from the video I showed him and the document I shared here, it doesn't mean it never existed before. There may be records.

It doesn't seem familiar to me based on the document, but that doesn't mean much.

Admittedly, past experience is coloring my point of view about urgency. The last place I was, a spreading darkness almost destroyed everything. And no barrier holds forever.

[ Having looked into a void like that, Saya would rather risk death than have that happen here. But if it means putting down the barrier altogether it might not be worth that risk. She'll have to come up with a list of questions for the power holders after conversing with the person she has in mind. ]

It took them four days to erect. I somehow doubt they'll be willing to bring it down for an attempt that is based on instinct rather than careful consideration. Pardon my unprofessionalism, but that irrationality could very well get everyone here killed. No matter what you may be in comparison to myself. The risk is too great.

[This post couldn't have happened at a more opportune time. Lahabrea was busy reading up on the lore of this realm when he stumbled across this gem. It takes him a moment to recognize the name but once he does, he realizes this is the individual that was mentioned in here. Therefore, he forgoes his reading for the sake of joining the conversation.]

The beast in question sounds vaguely reminiscent of a Morbol Marquis, one of the many creatures cultivated at the Hungering Gardens in Elipis. However, I doubt such a fiend could thrive within such tight confines. That being said, I cannot help but notice the similarities regarding its many effects. Is it safe to assume its poison wasn't lethal? Typically if a creature can create hallucinations, it would have no need for poison since it already managed to ensnare its prey.

I have no intention of asking them to bring down the barrier. But there might be ways without doing that. It depends on specifics only the ones who made the barrier would know.

I can't say that I've heard of it before, but I imagine Olwen and the researchers would be glad to receive any information you could give them.

Unfortunately I didn't live long enough after the poison to say.

However, I'd argue just one effect would be enough to ensnare prey, yet this had multiple it used. It seemed to be related to its hands rather than the creature itself.
