[ Here's the old man in front of his new shop. He's smoking a cigarette, as per usual. ]

Well. As it turns out, it's just as easy to start a loan office in Nightwake as it is in Tokyo.

[ He clears his throat. ]

Look, I am ex-yakuza; if there really is such a thing. But I've done my time working collections, and it... It doesn't help anyone. It causes strife and fear in the victims, and all it does is teach the collector how to harden their heart.

I don't want to start a blood feud with the local organizations by overstepping, but I do want to do something to help... and this what I came up with. Sky Finance was run by a friend of mine in Tokyo. He was giving out loans to the people in the most trouble so that they could maybe start over without losing their lives.

I have some money to give out, but... I'll need some help with the office. If you've got some event planning experience, that'd be a bonus. We have a lot of fundraising to do if we want to keep going.

[ Daigo is bundled up out in the Winter Segment, a cigarette smoldering at his lips. ]

Look, I've got this really nice fishing rod--

[ Pulled into frame, it is a fishing rod that has been enhanced with the liquid kintsugi gold from quests past. It's going to take something pretty metal to break that thing. ]

I can drag up some of the monster fish, if someone comes out here and keeps it from thrashing me to death on the way out of the water. That first piranha almost got my face.

[ Daigo did a bit of community service around Nightwake before he left, and he has aged much more than some of the troubled youths he was previously observing. Some of them sure have made a mess while he was away.

Which is why he has dragged this one before the camera by his ear. ]

Why don't you introduce yourself.

[ It's not a suggestion, there's something steely in his otherwise calm tone. The teenager sulks defiantly. ]

Hagen here needs to keep his nose clean, and we'd both be very obliged if you would keep an eye out for him when you're in Nightwake. Isn't that right?

Shut up, old man.

[ Daigo just smiles, squeezes his captive's shoulder briefly, and then sets him free from this forced announcement. He calls after him as a reminder: ]

Lay low, you've already pissed them off once!

[ Then Daigo sits down to light a cigarette with a sigh. ]

[There were reasons he didn't like putting his face to his attachment to the Pokémon League in anyway; why his ID for his gym was essentially the back of his head and everything. No one outside of Medali tended to know who he was, which was honestly how he preferred it. Made looking in on who was running through his Gym Test a little easier.

Which was why Larry had intended to keep this on voice, but a certain beaked face had put it on video instead.

Hence the camera filled with the head and neck of a creature that looked like a flamingo. Almost. No move to pull the pokémon out of the way, its head turning and rounded beak bumping there. Mostly what was visible was the man's hair and a light blue tie with white clouds on it.

Right.]

Hello, this is Larry. One more person here that comes from a world where those creatures known as Pokémon are from.

I'm from the Region known as Paldea, and am familiar with raising pokémon along with battling. I run what's known as a Gym, something that trainers of any age go to battle the Gym Leader after passing the Test for that specific Gym- or at least that's how it goes in Paldea.

Gym Leaders tend to specialize in one specific Type of Pokémon. Teaches you how to battle better with weaknesses and strength of your own team.

So, those of you interested in learning more have multiple options, and don't end up overwhelming one specific person at a time. Really, you can talk to each of us and get various views to help grow stronger with your Pokémon. It's better, and usually how it goes in our world.

[The feed starts up, but there's a split second of just blue before they get a full view of the sky. Seems whoever turned this on dropped their device. There's a long, long moment of silence, until finally, a voice.]

... Hi.

[The voice is low, depressing, and clearly devoid of energy. Which due to her circumstances, is absolutely normal, but it's likely nobody would know this right off. It takes a few seconds, but eventually she speaks up again.]

Um, so, I've heard a lot of the advice newcomers get, but I don't think I'm supposed to be here. I don't know how to explain it...

[Finally, her hand comes into view - a small, blue hand, followed by a sweater covering her arm. Her hand is... moving? It looks like a bunch of energy swirling and floating around each other, making the shape of her palm. But she's moving it, so it must be solid.]

I'm not human, or anything like that. I'm just... an emotion. [Or rather, the manifestation of emotion.] Is there anyone else here like me? Am I even making sense?

[A long pause.]

Mm... I guess it'd be rude not to introduce myself... I'm just Sadness. [Finally, she manages to pull the phone up so a quick view of her face appears on the camera - complete with big round glasses, blue hair, small nose, and a frown. But all too quickly after that, the feed goes right back to the sky before it shuts off.]

[ Daigo Dojima looks much more ragged than when he left Ellipsa. He is four years older, and those four years have been some of the worst. His beard and hair are both overgrown and his eyes are tired. ]

It's been a while. I'm Daigo Dojima, for those I haven't met.

Aether and Ayaka are at the tea house, on a low table, with some tea cups and snacks around them. Greetings. My name is Kamisato Ayaka, and with me is my friend, Aether. We are representing the shinrin-yoku to announce an event that will be happening next week.

It has been half a year since otherworlders have begun to gather here in this world. Some of you I have met already, while there are those who remain strangers to one another despite being in the same situation. We, at the shinrin-yoku, will be hosting a little gathering of sorts. Those who have only recently arrived are encouraged to visit the tea house for this, as well as others who wish to get to know other people and make connections.

Greetings, everyone! I wanted to share this great chart I found! Finally... an easy way to describe body types!

I think I probably align somewhere around "hunkish twink" right now with the way my body looks. But my workout goal is to reach something like "hunk" or maybe even "bearish hunk". Whatever has me huge and muscular.

What types of bodies do all of you have?

The seasonal power holders have worked together to create a barrier. The reason for this is simple, there is something in there that is unlike anything we’ve seen before. My companion and I entered that building on May 29th with the goal of trying to ensure it could be used as a safe spot. Unfortunately, both of us died in that place.

I’ve attached a document with the knowledge we acquired from fighting it in case it sounds similar to anything you’ve encountered before. I also have a video that can be requested. Olwen has contacted researchers to start analysing what it may be, but any similarities may help.

I will not be answering personal questions on the matter. Please keep this informational.

He seems grumpy as his long, winding tail, takes up a good portion of the video feed undulates, and thrashes a bit sporadically. Aeacinos himself is resting amount his coils. His clawed hand idly grips and relaxes over the shaft of his spear. ]

Who of amongst you is proficient in wielding weaponry? I wish to spar whoever comes forth. Those who are wielders of magic may use that during our session. I do not care about advantages or disadvantages. I merely wish to find worthy opponents.

[ A pause then as he gives a fanged smile. ] Perhaps I will allow the victors to ask for one favor from me as well.

[ Another pause as a sigh escapes him and that tail behind him whips and sways in an agitated sort of manner. ]

There is no war to be fought here and so...I will ask what does one do to pass the time? I am a bit lacking when it comes to what people call 'hobbies', the peace that is seemingly here makes me a bit restless. If there are beasts to kill or those who need a bodyguard, then I can provide my services. But I am no stranger to trying something new.

I'm from Tokyo, Japan. I'm still trying to get my bearings, I think. No magic or monsters. Not in my Tokyo, anyway.

With that in mind, I'd be interested in improving my... self-defense skills in this new territory. Apparently I've fallen into Autumn, if anyone is open to teaching a magic novice.

On the more mundane side, I'm well-trained with a handgun and street fighting. They're skills I should keep polished up though, yeah?
