[The camera flicked on, with a bearded man in a lab coat adjusting the lens, squinting at it, before nodding in confirmation, glancing back at a man out of view of the camera. Some people may recognize the visible man as the Professor who had been sticking around the Pokémon vending machine, giving advice to others upon receiving their Pokémon.]
I believe the camera is working properly-- shall we begin?
It is- and angled properly now as well, so we shall indeed begin.
[Just once last extra-check to ensure the phone was well propped, and wouldn't slip if any of the pokémon out of view decided to investigate/get nosy while this was being done. An older man finally came into view, smoothing down a jacket and adjusting round glasses- some would likely easily recognize Clavell as the other person that had been sticking around the vending machine dispensing pokémon, motioning to Turo that he could take whatever place he desired for this.
Turo moved to stand next to Clavell, also adjusting his lab coat collar, he paused--]
...Clavell, I believe it is already broadcasting.
[Whoopsie.
Clavell squinted towards the broadcasting phone, another idle adjustment to how his glasses were position on his face.]
—Ah, so it is. Well, good a time as any to get started on the announcement then, no?
Indeed.
[Though the taller man did seem slightly ill at ease, he cleared his throat--]
Hello, fellow Otherworlders. My name is Professor Turo, from the Region of Paldea.
And I am Director Clavell, also from the Region of Paldea. We're here to announce that, after a lot of work during our own free time, we've managed to adapt a phone application from our world to work on these phones here.
[Better to get down to business, simply to help push ahead and hope Turo settled some as they continued on.]
As some of you are aware, a vending machine located at the Underground Mall has been giving out creatures known as ‘Pokémon’. These beings are native to our homeworld, and we’ve both worked to help further the study of them.
[So to speak, in his case… but regardless.]
Our companion, Jacq, developed what is called a ‘Pokédex’, an encyclopaedia of all known Pokémon in Paldea. Due to the fact Pokémon from outside our Region have been appearing here, we felt it prudent to make a version of the Pokédex accessible to all of you, updated with all known Pokémon.
[Clavell tipped his head, a small gesture made towards the camera- more indicating the phone broadcasting them—]
We have also added the necessary information to help you care for your new Pokémon companions; from dietary needs to helping keep a level of cleanliness and happiness. All in an effort to help build what can hopefully grow into a strong bond between you and them, as Pokémon are very wonderful creatures.
[Whatever they could think of that needed to be known about every pokémon within the Pokédex that could be helpful, since between Turo and Clavell they certainly knew quite a bit about pokémon as a whole.]
I have done my best to ensure the application is easy to use once downloaded to your phones, given I am used to altering the Pokedex app program here and there due to familiarity with Jacq's work. If there is some trouble, do not hesitate to bring it up to either of us.
Also, there’s two modes for the Pokedex; Normal Mode and Unlocked.
[Turo holding up two fingers to indicate--]
Normal mode works as it was intended for Pokémon Trainers from our world; Pokémon are blacked out until you encounter them-- thus your own Pokémon will show up instantly, and you will be able to unlock more as you meet new Pokémon from your fellows around the city. Unlocked has all Pokémon available to see and learn about, including Pokémon that are rarely seen and often considered Legends or Myths in our world.
[Clavell nodded along as Turo spoke—]
You will be able to choose which Mode to keep your Pokédex application in, and either will still have full information available to you under each Pokémon's entry. So far there are only various starter pokémon to be seen, from that Vending Machine in the Underground Mall, unless you encounter one of the other people from some region of our world; chances are that Pokémon of our own teams are with us.
[Such as the Houndoom that wandered to sit just by Clavell after a long stretch.
And the Rotom that-- started buzzing around the camera.]
--Rotom, please behave.
[The exasperation in Turo’s voice could not be hidden, but after giving the camera a raspberry, the Rotom darted away with a buzzy giggle.
Clavell hid a chuckle behind his hand briefly, the other resting just at the top of Houndoom's head as the pokémon peered at the phone broadcasting them-]
So, we do hope this Pokédex phone application comes in handy for those of you who decide to download it, and again do not hesitate to reach out to either of us as needed.
[There was an attached file, the Download link to the Pokédex application.]
(OOC: The pokédex app does have all known pokémon in it- except for the ancient paradox pokémon, as these two are from Violet rather than Scarlet. Those tagging in may, of course, get replies from both Clavell and Turo. Speaking of- regular font is Clavell, and the purple font is Turo.)

For now that information can be sent to me, or even Turo, so that I can tweak the application and create an update to add the information. It will be very important if this place does cause any changes to them, and help track it to see where it may possibly go- to the best of our ability at least.
You can also make note of it in your own pokédex of course, as there is a notes feature under each Pokémon's entry; I felt that would be rather useful to include.
no subject
I will keep that in mind. Though I prefer working with just one point of contact.
no subject
The notes will only remain on your own pokédex, so if it is better you may send the information to me so I can create an update to add to them all.
no subject
I will relay all information to you then. I think these creatures might be able to help us as well. Especially with their evolved abilities.
no subject
I will appreciate what you may discover. Given that most pokémon do have abilities similar to the seasonal magic of this world, correct?
no subject
[ Though she said she was more than used to that. Which was still strange to think about. ]
They were both fine afterward. The Pikachu seemed to forgive her quickly.
It does seem like they're perfectly aligned for this place. Only Eevee seems to be the outlier, but that might be just because she's still deciding what element she prefers.
no subject
I am glad to hear that, however.
I found myself thinking the same when I was practicing with a few Winter abilities, honestly. I've a couple Water types with me that I can practice that much with.
[Gyarados certainly kept track, and Quaquaval seemed to enjoy the dancing part.]
Eevee is a Normal type, and their only real weakness is to Fighting types. They tend to resist against attacks of other types, which the pokédex can help with learning. She'll do quite well until she does decide, as she will be able to learn moves of other types as she gets stronger.
no subject
I see. She's more of a wild card type. I've mostly been working with her on reflexes and agility.
no subject
A very good place to work on, as some tend to neglect them out of focusing on something else. Speed can be key with the other abilities a pokémon may know after all.
no subject
I've noticed she seems to like rushing forward at things. She's quite quick.
[ Especially if she's after a treat. ]
no subject
Speed can at times be a deciding factor- and others it means they can get into more things when not watched.
no subject
She's very good at that as well.
no subject
It will be to her advantage should she ever wish to evolve, as it is now.

There is one more thing I'm curious about. You and the other keep referring to yourselves as trainers. What do you train Pokémon to do exactly?
no subject
We train them to grow stronger and learn new abilities; how to handle those and work as a team as needed. Just as pokémon may decide to test us, they have an interest and even desire to battle other pokémon. It may understandably sound strange, that there are quite a few pokémon that take great joy in it, testing themselves against wild pokémon that attack traveling trainers as they too want to test if the person is worthy- and may join the team as well. Some will even go up against other trainers and their team, and strong friendships can be built off these rivalries that push each other to grow stronger together. There are various gyms to test a teams' strength against certain set Types that the Gym Leader specializes in as well, and some pursue goals to become champion(s) of their region, or perhaps even the world.
This helps sharpen skills, and gives both the ability to travel safely if they go out into the wilds to travel the land and discover new places- and even pokémon they've yet to meet.
Others train pokémon to work together and create an act showing off flashy abilities with a theme set to music and perform with their trainer- much like a dance, showing off skills of grace, agility, and even speed to keep up and nailing the movements of the routine.
no subject
They instinctively like to spar?
[ He might have to see if that's something Eevee enjoys as well. It would align nicely with testing his Season skills. ]
no subject
Those who enjoy it like to keep sharp, as it were.

The show of a good battle can get a pokémon inclined towards it just as excited.

At least this was we're easy to contact, at the very least, as needed here.
