[The camera flicked on, with a bearded man in a lab coat adjusting the lens, squinting at it, before nodding in confirmation, glancing back at a man out of view of the camera. Some people may recognize the visible man as the Professor who had been sticking around the Pokémon vending machine, giving advice to others upon receiving their Pokémon.]
I believe the camera is working properly-- shall we begin?
It is- and angled properly now as well, so we shall indeed begin.
[Just once last extra-check to ensure the phone was well propped, and wouldn't slip if any of the pokémon out of view decided to investigate/get nosy while this was being done. An older man finally came into view, smoothing down a jacket and adjusting round glasses- some would likely easily recognize Clavell as the other person that had been sticking around the vending machine dispensing pokémon, motioning to Turo that he could take whatever place he desired for this.
Turo moved to stand next to Clavell, also adjusting his lab coat collar, he paused--]
...Clavell, I believe it is already broadcasting.
[Whoopsie.
Clavell squinted towards the broadcasting phone, another idle adjustment to how his glasses were position on his face.]
—Ah, so it is. Well, good a time as any to get started on the announcement then, no?
Indeed.
[Though the taller man did seem slightly ill at ease, he cleared his throat--]
Hello, fellow Otherworlders. My name is Professor Turo, from the Region of Paldea.
And I am Director Clavell, also from the Region of Paldea. We're here to announce that, after a lot of work during our own free time, we've managed to adapt a phone application from our world to work on these phones here.
[Better to get down to business, simply to help push ahead and hope Turo settled some as they continued on.]
As some of you are aware, a vending machine located at the Underground Mall has been giving out creatures known as ‘Pokémon’. These beings are native to our homeworld, and we’ve both worked to help further the study of them.
[So to speak, in his case… but regardless.]
Our companion, Jacq, developed what is called a ‘Pokédex’, an encyclopaedia of all known Pokémon in Paldea. Due to the fact Pokémon from outside our Region have been appearing here, we felt it prudent to make a version of the Pokédex accessible to all of you, updated with all known Pokémon.
[Clavell tipped his head, a small gesture made towards the camera- more indicating the phone broadcasting them—]
We have also added the necessary information to help you care for your new Pokémon companions; from dietary needs to helping keep a level of cleanliness and happiness. All in an effort to help build what can hopefully grow into a strong bond between you and them, as Pokémon are very wonderful creatures.
[Whatever they could think of that needed to be known about every pokémon within the Pokédex that could be helpful, since between Turo and Clavell they certainly knew quite a bit about pokémon as a whole.]
I have done my best to ensure the application is easy to use once downloaded to your phones, given I am used to altering the Pokedex app program here and there due to familiarity with Jacq's work. If there is some trouble, do not hesitate to bring it up to either of us.
Also, there’s two modes for the Pokedex; Normal Mode and Unlocked.
[Turo holding up two fingers to indicate--]
Normal mode works as it was intended for Pokémon Trainers from our world; Pokémon are blacked out until you encounter them-- thus your own Pokémon will show up instantly, and you will be able to unlock more as you meet new Pokémon from your fellows around the city. Unlocked has all Pokémon available to see and learn about, including Pokémon that are rarely seen and often considered Legends or Myths in our world.
[Clavell nodded along as Turo spoke—]
You will be able to choose which Mode to keep your Pokédex application in, and either will still have full information available to you under each Pokémon's entry. So far there are only various starter pokémon to be seen, from that Vending Machine in the Underground Mall, unless you encounter one of the other people from some region of our world; chances are that Pokémon of our own teams are with us.
[Such as the Houndoom that wandered to sit just by Clavell after a long stretch.
And the Rotom that-- started buzzing around the camera.]
--Rotom, please behave.
[The exasperation in Turo’s voice could not be hidden, but after giving the camera a raspberry, the Rotom darted away with a buzzy giggle.
Clavell hid a chuckle behind his hand briefly, the other resting just at the top of Houndoom's head as the pokémon peered at the phone broadcasting them-]
So, we do hope this Pokédex phone application comes in handy for those of you who decide to download it, and again do not hesitate to reach out to either of us as needed.
[There was an attached file, the Download link to the Pokédex application.]
(OOC: The pokédex app does have all known pokémon in it- except for the ancient paradox pokémon, as these two are from Violet rather than Scarlet. Those tagging in may, of course, get replies from both Clavell and Turo. Speaking of- regular font is Clavell, and the purple font is Turo.)

You are most welcome, we hope that it comes in very useful in ensuring those who have found themselves with pokémon and, of course, form a strong bond between themselves. The bond between pokémon and trainer can do amazing things for both.
[His hand rested just over Houndoom's snout as the pokémon nudged his head up.]
Unfortunately there is none. The machine simply appeared there once the construction of the underground mall was finished. No one knows how it and the pokémon within got there, so I've been told.
[He trusted Hijikata's word on that after all.]

[ She's yet to fiddle with it! ]
Ah... how odd, then. And unusual, especially if they are still here after some time. I wonder what the cause may be.

We tried to add everything we thought may be of interest, along with what would help in their care.
[A whole lot of little factoids that hadn't already been included with that!]
It's a tad worrying, but pokémon are very adaptable creatures, and very used to living close with people. We're certainly trying to keep an ear out for any cause, of course. [He is just hoping this isn't signs of something... not good. Vague as that worry could be, there were a lot of things that could go terribly if there was some cause- such as someone trying for a specific pokémon.]

That's good to know. Though... [ Ghost types. . . huh? She imagines they're like yōkai, or something. In which case, she hopes she doesn't encounter any Ghost type Pokémon. She'd be way too scared. ]
Houndoom and Rotom are what type? [ She laughs behind her hand. ] I suppose I should just use the application... I really must set a lot of time aside to go through it later.
I'll do the same. And if I hear anything, I will be sure to let you and your colleague know.

Clavell at least moved so that Houndoom could be seen better, the pokémon looking on curiously.] Houndoom here is a Dark and Fire type, as some have two different typings. As is Rotom there, bein both Ghost and Electric type.
You will see quite a many pokémon in the app that have two typings, and some that are only one. I do hope you enjoy looking through it, and growing used to using it at all! It is very helpful when encountering a pokémon you've never seen before, as Professor Turo stated for the more normal pokédex mode.
It would be very much appreciated, better to help keep both the pokémon safe along with everyone else as well.

Thank you again, for your patience in explaining this all to me. Would you mind if I sent you a message if I have any other questions?

....
That smile remained, warm.] I wouldn't mind at all! Sometimes it is easier to ask, after all. A different insight, if you would.
