I think we all need something fun right now. Especially those who need to take their minds off the cold inside of them while waiting for a cure.

I thought so. Still, I had to offer.

Don't worry about it, I need to be close to the city. And I'm not really sure how much longer I'll be able to fight every day. [ There's been some developments with her hibernation cycle, and not in a good way. ]

Oh? That sounds concerning- has something happened?

[He's not sure if she's referring to her hibernation or not, or if it's a combo of that and something else. Still, that sounds terrible to him.]

We did the first test to try and eliminate my hibernation, and it went badly. Very badly. I attacked a room full of my dearest friends, and I hurt them. Luckily I was the only one who died.

When I was revived, my hibernation was much closer. The attempt siphoned enough energy off to change the timeline. I have a few months, at my best guess. We'll be doing another test in a short while, if the effect is the same I'll have weeks. Or it might be less.

Once the end gets close I won't have enough energy for fighting anymore.

[As he reads the messages, his hand comes up to rest on his cheek, yet trying to not look terribly concerned because Yoimiya is in the same room with him. But his eyes focus on what she tells him with a laser-focused intensity. It was worse than he'd expected.]

I'm sorry to hear. Perhaps this go around will change things for the better. I hate to think of you as unable to fight- nor do I care to think of you having lost all your memories.

How certain are you that this next test may provide some positive results?

[ If he asked, Saya would tell Childe that Yoimiya can know. She wouldn't ask someone to hide things from their partner under almost any circumstance. ]

Not very. It'll probably take many years, even centuries before I'm cured. I don't like to think of being unable to fight or being without my memories either, but I do feel I owe it to the people who love me to try, you know? They're the ones who will suffer when I sleep, and they've said they want me to keep trying.

You're right- and if I were in your shoes, I'd probably do the exact same thing.

[Losing her memories would be forgetting her friends, her husband, everything...a terrible fate if you ask him.]

Even if the odds are low, I'll still hope for the best. Please don't hesitate to ask if you're in need of anything, I'll be more than happy to oblige, especially if you need anyone else there for the next test.
