[ His companion thinks on those words for a moment, before making what seems to be a sound of agreement after coming to a conclusion. Then he makes a small bow to the camera as much as the rabbit at the other man’s grip allows. ]

[ That earns an impressed look, but also a brightly amused laugh from Wei Wuxian. ]

Sometimes this world produces strange creatures. A Cultivator should have little problem, but those unused to battle struggle.

[His friend does have battle experience, but the monster had been too strange for him to read it easily.]

Mn, I have heard of the odd dogs and seen the undead, but not yet of what other sorts of dangerous creatures there might be lurking.

[ Lan Wangji's knowledge is limited to that of a Cultivator, with only broad knowledge of other things they may eventually come across. ]

Is there a place to study about these creatures, or are we simply in the dark until they're upon us?

I cannot tell you what Ellipsa might create - only, if you are able, do not face said creations alone.

(Xingchen hasn't gone out on any night-hunts since he arrived. He isn't sure they would do much good considering Ellipsa marches to the beat of a different drum. Now if someone is in danger or calls for him, he will of course go to them and fight to the best of his ability.)

I fear the latter is more likely for new creatures, but there is a scroll called the Beastiary. (He sends Lan Wangji said scroll.)

My husband and I often night-hunt together, we will do the same if one decides to face these creatures. If I find myself attacked suddenly and unable to defeat my opponent, I will request aid.

[ Lan Wangji cannot predict all outcomes, and while he does have his pride - it is not worth his life. He does not want to leave Wei Ying with that pain. ]
