[It looks very much like Diluc is trying to take a photo and has switched the video broadcast on instead. In the hazy yellow light shining from the apartment building foyer Kaeya is standing and striking a pose, though he looks slightly unsteady on his feet.

For a couple of seconds, anyway. As he takes a small step back he loses his footing on the edge of the steps, windmilling his arms as he overbalances and falls into the bushes behind him. The camera wobbles as Kaeya struggles to pull himself upright again and then it quickly drops, focused on the ground as the mixed sound of grunts of effort and Diluc's own unrestrained, incredibly amused laughter come out across the network.]

You could help me--

[Kaeya's whining complaint only makes the laughing worse, but the other man is clearly struggling not to laugh as well. Diluc lets out an audible snort mid-laugh.]

You're right, I could.

[And, for all of this, neither of them have realised they're putting on a show for the whole of Ellipsa.]

[It takes a minute for Diluc to realise he actually started sending this to everyone rather than recording, but it's only a short time after the feed actually cuts off that he replies to Rinku.

He only looks a little more composed than before.]

[Being drunk enough to be unsteady on his feet, Kaeya was also drunk enough that he was having a hard time getting out of the bushes. Partly the inebriation and partly because it was simply an awkward angle he had fallen in. Legs and arms akimbo, he wiggled and rolled and still couldn't get up and Diluc laughing, while amazing and beautiful, was super unhelpful!

Still, the laugh was infectious and he grunted and laughed and wiggles around.]

Okay, you had your laugh, now help me up, you brat! [A mutter:] Ugh, I'm too drunk for this...

[Something about it just tickled him. Maybe it was the lack of grace in the whole thing, as he falls with his limbs flailing and then struggles to get up and looks all the more ungainly in trying to get up again.

He's still laughing as he walks over and offers Kaeya a hand, hauling him up out of the bushes.]

[Gods, give him a second.]

Did you enjoy your trip?

[Kaeya is still tipsy so when he's pulled up, he stumbles a little before huffing and smoothing his clothes out. His cheeks are flushed both from alcohol and embarrassment.]

You're awful.

[He's failing at keeping a frown on his face, though.]

[Absolutely. He pulls Kaeya a little ways away from the edge of the step so he doesn't go toppling over again.]

And you're drunk.

[He does sober somewhat as he recognises Albedo's voice, but there's a smile in his tone.]

Still, Kaeya is able to take it in stride. He's also a little more sober now so he's thankful Alear isn't actually commenting on the embarrassing display.]

[ Alear's still on the fence about believing whether or not this was supposed to be intentional, but he's certainly not complaining. ]

Kaeya would never willingly fall into a bush. He's already embarrassed enough as it is!]

It's breathable but I wouldn't say it's all that suitable for training. If you want something for training, I would say something loose like this but that you're willing to get dirty.

[By the time he actually gets back to Thoma he's already figured out his blunder, though he doesn't seem to be too ruffled by it.]

I've realised, Thoma. [He chuckles softly.] Though I think more damage was done to Kaeya's pride than mine.

[ Once he gets the confirmation that Diluc's aware and unminding, relief floods through him, enough that he's smiling once more. ]

Oh, that's a relief. I hope he's feeling better or resting then?

[He laughs softly.]

He was drunk, not unwell. He's sleeping it off.

[And Diluc, who had only had the one drink - just enough to make him a little tipsy - has already burned through the alcohol in his system and is quite sober.]

He has always had lofty ideas of his own tolerance.

I see we're fairly similar in taking enjoyment out of our dear friend's drunken state.

Though you really ought to help him up, he does tend to need walking all the way home after a few drinks.

Perhaps not to the point of stumbling, but I would still worry for your safety. I'm glad to see you appear to be in good hands, even if he's letting you stay on the floor a little longer.

I have gone home, alone, far more drunk than this. [Kaeya, don't be proud of that???] This was nothing but an anomaly.

[He paused and then, there was a grumble.]

Diluc is a brat, though.

I don't think there's anyone who would know better than me just how Kaeya is after a few drinks.

[He's definitely not disputing what Ayato says, though... The present scenario being what it is, Kaeya needing a helping hand isn't something that's up for debate.

Now, now. No need to get possessive. I've merely enjoyed a few drinks with him before. { the smile he gives is very teasing. } I see from this you truly are closer than I initially realised. I'm glad he's in such safe hands.

We grew up together. My father, Crepus Ragnvindr, adopted him as a child.

[And as far as anyone needs to know right now that's really all there is to it. Two adoptive brothers mending the damaged bonds of their friendship in a place where their responsibilities and respective pasts don't weigh so heavily.]

So, we are close... and he's always safe with me.
