They're not exactly up front about the death toll when you sign up, and after you're on board your managers kill you if you try to quit. So you're kind of hosed even if you do expect to die.

Yeah, I can imagine. Just getting close enough must be a challenge.

That makes sense! Specialized equipment for a specialized problem. It would be very useful for those who do not have flight or teleportation magic. I admit I'd like to see such a fight, but it's mostly for curiosity.

Well, it's the realm of the dead- humans usually hate it at first. A lot of monsters and corpses and species they're not used to, some of which might prey upon people more and then. I sort the dead according to their deeds in life, and their lot reflects such deeds.

It's no Hell where we mete out eternal punishment MOSTLY, but you know. People who can't function in polite society(morally) have their own society that they have to deal with. People who can are well taken care of, I've spent most of my life trying to improve the afterlife via technology, knowledge, and procurement of resources.

Expanding one's territory is not a valid reason to invade another country, nor is taking another's natural resources by force. If one is lacking resources, one can trade for or pay outright for them. As for land itself, perhaps a reexamination of why one needs the land in the first place is in order.

I'm not saying that overpopulation isn't a problem, but more often than not, the desire for more land is fueled by greed or, once again, the desire for more natural resources. It's entirely unnecessary otherwise.

[ There is a pause before Reiner responds. A part of him wants to argue, his ingrained loyalty to his country demanding that he protest, the fanaticism his mother cultivated clawing at him. Another part wants to agree, those same childhood lessons packed to the brim with the evils of his people's former empire. Expansion was bad when Eldia did it, but it's all right when Marley does. Two contradictory viewpoints drilled into Reiner's skull for years, impossible to untangle.

In the end, Reiner abandons both options, settling for neutrality. ]

Sort of. Those man-eating beings I mentioned don't usually get that big, though. They're called Titans, and they typically cap out around 15 meters.

I should mention there are a few people who can turn into Titans. Intelligent ones, not man-eaters. Two of us are here so far. So if you see a 15-meter-tall blond or brunet humanoid, don't attack us immediately, all right?
