Hello, I'm Aether. A simple traveler...

[Very simple, nothing special, really!]

...Who sadly can't traveler that much here. But since everyone is from different worlds, I am curious to hear more about them. And to make this easier I have a question as a starter! Is there anything you miss from your world?

Hm, it's quite hard to describe them. They take all kinds of forms: some look like ghastly hounds, some look have more humanoid shapes, but are much taller than a normal person. They can even have more than two arms.

[inspiteful]

Sounds like the sort of thing you can expect from something touched by the Wyld too, to be honest.

[startraveler]

Maybe it's similar. I wouldn't really be surprised. If worlds can be very different from one another, but nobody said they couldn't be also similar.

It makes sense. Even if they're not the exact same thing, there's probably a lot of stuff that's similar in concept...

Yeah... Is there anything else that Wyld energy does? Besides being ominous and all.

[inspiteful]

Well, if a living being comes in contact with it, then, uh...

I think there's no particularly nice way of saying that it changes their form, and sometimes their mind too. It's usually really...unpleasant. It can be severe enough that they're hardly recognisable as whatever they were before.

[startraveler]

That definitely sounds unpleasant. Abyss energy can be like that too, but it depends, I guess.

[inspiteful]

It's kind of like poison, I suppose. If it's brief, it doesn't necessarily mean something bad will happen to you, but the longer or more you come in contact with it, then... There's no turning back once things start happening.

Ah, but this is getting a little off-topic. What did you find in those ruins?

[startraveler]

It really is... Haha...

Well, mostly a lot of monsters. Some hidden passages, also some black ooze was everywhere and it was only for the best to stay away from it. Thankfully, we had something to cleanse it.

[inspiteful]

I'm starting to wonder if most ruins are at least a little dangerous...

What did you use?

[startraveler]

Well, as far as I know they definitely are. At least a little bit.

I used a sort of crystal that had the power to get rid of the ooze.

[inspiteful]

Huh... And how'd you get the crystal?

[startraveler]

It was given to me by the adventurer's guild to help me explore the caverns.

[inspiteful]

You guys have a guild for that sort of thing?

[startraveler]

Yes! We get all sort of requests to explore various places, help with explorations, retrieve things... It's not that different from quests here.

[inspiteful]

Huh. I'd say it's a bit like being a mercenary, but it sounds a lot...nicer than that, really.

[startraveler]

Mercenaries take mostly jobs related to combat and protection of some important people. Adventurers focus more on aiding with various research, like exploring the ruins, retrieving ancient treasures, helping resolve some problems in the area... that kind of thing.

They do get combat related jobs and escort jobs, too, though.

[inspiteful]

I see... It doesn't sound too bad.

[startraveler]

If you're enjoying adventures, then it's a lot of fun... Maybe not all the time, but mostly.

[inspiteful]

You probably find it fun a lot of the time, huh?

[startraveler]

I definitely do. It's just nice to see all those new things, discover something forgotten, meet all kinds of different people.
