[ The video shows an (unfairly) well-built young man who looks like he may have missed a night's sleep. Despite the fatigue, Reiner flashes a quick smile—it looks good on him; he knows it—and gets down to business, deep voice steady. ]

Hey, I'm Reiner Braun. I have some extra things that I don't need. They're pretty neat, so I'm offering them to anyone who wants some.

[ He turns the camera to a table covered in various trinkets and amulets made of wood or metal. They've each been shaped by magic, manipulated into twists, whorls, and pleasing shapes. ]

The larger ones are decorative, [ Reiner continues off-camera. ] The smaller ones have very basic protective magic worked into them. The spells vary. They're mostly minor resistances to specific elements—stuff like that. Nothing fancy.

[ Once Reiner finishes panning over the assorted items, he turns the camera back to himself. ]

Let me know if you're interested. You'd be doing me a favor. [ He puts on a half-smile. ] I've got too many of these and no room to make more. Thanks.

Yeah, I guess it is. I hadn't thought of it that way.

Mostly fire, wind, water, and earth. [ Unsurprising, that, given the world in which they've found themselves. ] A few are more specialized or experimental. But those four elements cover most of these.

[ Reiner glances at the table. ]

Maybe a little, [ he admits. ] I'm running out of room.

All right. That's no problem. Keep in mind that these ones are very basic. They'll take the edge off of wind damage, but they won't make you immune.

That's all I ask. As I said before, I have no shortage of natural durability. Just taking the edge off wind attacks will serve me just fine.

Yeah, I could tell. Have you been resting lately at all?

[ Marco is absolutely familiar with that big brother tone. He's heard it far too many times during training, when Reiner would remind people to be careful during survival training, or during ODM repair, when one missed tight screw could lead to a jam, or death.

So it makes him perk up, a little bit, an ache in his chest about how familiar it is. ]

I haven't quite got the hang of Seismic Sense, yet, so I'll try to get in some more practice over the next few days.

[ It's as good a thing to focus on as any, since he can already form rocks within his hands with ease at this point. ]

I've yet to research on foraging, but we haven't picked a segment to visit yet, so I'm waiting until I can focus on a specific location. Oversupplied is probably a better choice, but I think we're planning on sticking close to the city and taking on a smaller mission.

[ They're not gonna launch themselves into anything especially dangerous, though (hopefully) Reiner knows Marco will treat it as seriously as if they are. ]

I'd be interested in hearing more about the specialized ones if you don't mind elaborating a bit.

Not that protection from the basic elements is anything to sneeze at either. How much are you selling them for?

[Reiner did not mention that he was selling anything, but it just feels wrong to take them without giving anything in return. Besides, he kind of wants one of each, and that would be greedy if he were taking them for free.]

Yeah. Using metal manipulation would cut the time needed to make swords, since you'd need less time on the forge. Sharpening swords would be a lot easier too.

Have you checked out the shop "Better, Stronger, Cheaper"? They sell an item called an Unlimited Cookie Jar. It'll give you an unlimited supply of whatever food you put into it. Cookies, ration bars, fresh fruit—you name it. Plus, it'll add raisins.

[ For a second, Reiner looks utterly bemused. Did Armin misunderstand the point of this post? Reiner is trying to get rid of these; he's not asking anyone to pay him for things that were, to him, simply practice.

And although Armin says he's insisting, Reiner shakes his head. ]

I'm not charging anyone. The protective spells on these are very basic. If you're going to insist on paying, it would have to be for something better than these.

[ … Apparently, the offer of money caught him by such surprise that he plain forgot about explaining the more specialized ones. ]

[ Belatedly, Reiner realizes what Evangeline meant by him looking like he's overdoing it.

He shrugs. ]

Autumns don't need much sleep.

[ A non-answer that answers it well enough. ]

[ He turns the camera around again, showing a specific section of the table full of trinkets and amulets. ]

These ones [ his hand appears to indicate the ones in question ] will all do the trick. The only differences are the materials and designs.

[ Which are mostly swirling and twisting, though there are a few more jagged ones in the mix. ]

[ Interest alights in Reiner's eyes. It's not at the idea of making swords so much as the idea of hanging out with his friend, helping out with Jean's work. ]

All right, then. That sounds like fun.

I'm actually working on some extra blades for the ODM gear, if you want to come around. It'd be helpful to get another opinion, too, since I've been staring at them for way too long by now.

I've heard of it, but I avoided it; it looked a little shady. An item like that does sound useful. As long as it goes well with raisins... Oh! I could keep it in my bag!

Mmmmmmmm I think it's still helpful. Even if you technically don't need it.

[ Uncertainty flashes across Reiner's face, a hint of discomfort he can't entirely conceal. The idea of someone placing monetary value on anything he makes feels bizarre, and the prospect of someone commissioning something specific even more so. Reiner is valuable as a soldier Warrior, not as a … what? Craftsman? Civilian? ]

… I have some that protect against slashing damage and cold. I'm not limited to that, though. It depends on what you want from it.
