[ The video shows an (unfairly) well-built young man who looks like he may have missed a night's sleep. Despite the fatigue, Reiner flashes a quick smile—it looks good on him; he knows it—and gets down to business, deep voice steady. ]

Hey, I'm Reiner Braun. I have some extra things that I don't need. They're pretty neat, so I'm offering them to anyone who wants some.

[ He turns the camera to a table covered in various trinkets and amulets made of wood or metal. They've each been shaped by magic, manipulated into twists, whorls, and pleasing shapes. ]

The larger ones are decorative, [ Reiner continues off-camera. ] The smaller ones have very basic protective magic worked into them. The spells vary. They're mostly minor resistances to specific elements—stuff like that. Nothing fancy.

[ Once Reiner finishes panning over the assorted items, he turns the camera back to himself. ]

Let me know if you're interested. You'd be doing me a favor. [ He puts on a half-smile. ] I've got too many of these and no room to make more. Thanks.

What sort of elemental protections do you have there?

Mostly fire, wind, water, and earth. [ Unsurprising, that, given the world in which they've found themselves. ] A few are more specialized or experimental. But those four elements cover most of these.

[ Then: ]

Are you interested in any?

I'd be interested in hearing more about the specialized ones if you don't mind elaborating a bit.

Not that protection from the basic elements is anything to sneeze at either. How much are you selling them for?

[Reiner did not mention that he was selling anything, but it just feels wrong to take them without giving anything in return. Besides, he kind of wants one of each, and that would be greedy if he were taking them for free.]

[Kindly:] That was me insisting, by the way.

[ For a second, Reiner looks utterly bemused. Did Armin misunderstand the point of this post? Reiner is trying to get rid of these; he's not asking anyone to pay him for things that were, to him, simply practice.

And although Armin says he's insisting, Reiner shakes his head. ]

I'm not charging anyone. The protective spells on these are very basic. If you're going to insist on paying, it would have to be for something better than these.

[ … Apparently, the offer of money caught him by such surprise that he plain forgot about explaining the more specialized ones. ]

In that case, I'd like to commission you.

What sort of specialized items do you have? Or you could give some recommendations on what you think would be useful moving forward.

[ Uncertainty flashes across Reiner's face, a hint of discomfort he can't entirely conceal. The idea of someone placing monetary value on anything he makes feels bizarre, and the prospect of someone commissioning something specific even more so. Reiner is valuable as a soldier Warrior, not as a … what? Craftsman? Civilian? ]

… I have some that protect against slashing damage and cold. I'm not limited to that, though. It depends on what you want from it.

Slashing damage - that sounds extremely useful, actually. I don't suppose you're able to combine abilities on one item?

[He's been saving his money. He can pay him fairly. But he doesn't want Reiner to feel condescended or placated either. He'll pay for good work - an even, fair exchange.]

Potentially. What else do you want it to do?

Something against other physical attacks, maybe - bludgeoning, for example. Something that might encompass both, or anything else that would incapacitate someone.

[Even if it's temporary, what with the regeneration ability he now possesses; but Reiner doesn't know about that yet.]

Actually...I've just thought of something else I might be interested in.

Do you have any ability to create something that would defend against attacks on the mind?

[ That's unexpected. Reiner is visibly surprised, then his expression turns thoughtful as he turns the idea over in his mind. ]

I'd have to look into it. Are you looking to guard against a specific kind of attack? Or are you thinking of blanket protection?

Blanket protection if possible.

I'm not as adept at physical combat as the rest of you. I do fine with ODM gear, but I've always relied more on my mind than anything.

[It's the only value he really brings to anything, he figures; aside from...that which he has yet to mention to Reiner. That which should only be used as a last resort.]

When I first arrived, a spell influenced my mind and made me behave differently. [Reiner likely remembers this - their first interaction did not go well.]

I'd really like for that not to happen again if possible.

[ Reiner nods, his expression still thoughtful as wheels turn in his head. ]

I'll have to do some research and experimentation, then test it out. It'll take a while.
