[Instead of using the network to introduce himself, Tails decides to instead pose a question to the network. It would be good for him to get an idea of how many different people have been brought here, like him.

Plus, he's always insatiably curious, so...]

What's your universe like? What do you think makes it unique and special? And what do you like most about it?

[He almost sends it just like that - but realizes that it would probably be better if he himself gives an answer. It's only fair, after all.]

I wouldn't say my world is too terribly special, but it's a planet called Earth with lots of humans, and also those of us who've helped save the world a few times. We're not human, but we can talk like them! The person threatening the world is human, though. Builds a lot of crazy mad genius gadgetry and machinery to take us on. But I think he's finally mellowed out a little.

As for what I like most about it... well, everything! The forests, mountains, ruins, cities... it's so much fun to just soar over the landscape and take in what the world has to show. It reminds me what we have to protect, if it comes under attack again.

Human… mad genius machinery…

Yeah, I kinda know that feeling. My world’s kinda like that, though a whole lot less humans and more other creatures!

I'm not entirely sure the ratio of humans to animals, but there's plenty of cities and large metropolises with humans. He sure seemed to enjoy targeting those for a while. And the moon, too. Still not sure how that got better. But that was years ago now.

[Sonic, being the kind of guy who prefers to spend his days outside doing stupid stuff rather than inside glued to the network all day, sure does wish that he could remember Nine's username?? Cuz like Nine also has two tails, but none of this other stuff sounds like anything Nine's ever told him. But then some of it doesn't track with what he's been through with Tails back home, so... SHRUG?? I mean only one way to find out.]

Ours had just one major human settlement. It’s really weird, though - our world used to be Earth long in the past.

[Obviously whoever sent this knows someone named that, but also seems familiar with what he's said. And sure, the username piques his interest, but he's not going to rush to assumptions just yet.]

It may sound a bit hard to believe, but there's always the possibility of parallel universes.

...then again, given where we are, that probably isn't hard to believe at all, is it?

[Similarly, Tails switches on his video - he... definitely looks taller. At least a good half foot taller than Amy would remember him.]

Same. Though I'm gathering from what you told me earlier that you're not the Amy from my universe. [Still, she seems like the same old Amy he remembers.] Either way, I'm happy to see you here.

Heh, yeah, it took long enough. [He can't help laughing a bit.] I'm already almost what a human would consider their adult age, and I'm still half as tall as them!

[True to his word, Sonic appears out of nowhere just a couple seconds later, skidding to a stop just before he would have collided and instead grabs Tails in his best bro hug. No warning, of course.

The thing about Marine and just... the current state of Tails in general will catch up with him in a minute, this takes priority.]

I just hit that age a few months ago, so I know that feeling a whole lot. Don’t worry, though - there’s at least one human here who’d just love to meet you!

My world... I guess the simplest way to describe it would be 'capitalist hellscape'? Most of the unique and special things about it are things that can kill you or are otherwise depressing. I do appreciate the technology level there, though. We've got things like tattoos that make you immune to bullets and trains that can take you across the continent in seconds.

Yeah? I'll never say no to more new friends! [And hey, he's still got the same earnest smile that Tails always has.]

We're going to have to share stories about the differences between our universes. I'm interested in finding out how different and similar they are.

[The text is all he needs to see before he knows what's coming, and he's hugging his best friend back. He's already fairly aware that this might not be the Sonic from his universe - but dammit it's still Sonic, he's still his best bro. No universal differences will change that fact.]

Oh, that's really neat, though! I'm a bit of a tinkerer, myself, so I'm interested in learning more about the technology here. Maybe I could contribute somehow.

You should look into it! There's a lot of neat stuff here too, like the airships and the teleporters and things like that.

Sonic pauses mid sentence, and then slowly releases Tails, stepping back so he's just got him by the shoulders. The fox isn't quite at eye level, but boy howdy he sure is a lot closer to it than the last time Sonic saw him.]

I definitely want to see those. I've built and tinkered with airships and teleporters, but I have a feeling the ones here are going to be more advanced. Especially beside the super trains and power tattoos. So much to see and study!

You should get a job at the Research Center then, you'll be working with that kind of thing every day.
