Has anyone else had trouble figuring out what to do with yourself because your life at home didn't really prepare you for this situation?

I'm a soccer player and a gamer. My parents were pretty obsessed with me being an elite athlete... so I guess I'm saying I don't really have many other life skills.

Anyone have an idea of where I should start?

Oh, and it'd be kind of nice to find some friends my age, especially if you play soccer. I'm 16.

He could definitely talk about how hard and unusual adjusting to this second life has been, but that was entirely too personal to discuss with anyone, especially a stranger. I've had to deal with people who were in similar positions in the past as well as having to experience it myself.

I'd probably look into work related to your interests so you'd at least be able to make ends meet. I don't know much about the professional sports scene in this world, I'll admit, though... I'm more familiar with the gaming scene.

You would need to be here for at least a month, but there is a gaming-related profession in this world if you're familiar with content creators/streaming at all.

Any kind really! I do like strategy games a lot, though. But sometimes I just like the instant gratification shooter games too.

It'd be interesting to learn if there's any sports clubs at the very least... I don't want to get out of practice even if there's not a way for me to have that as my job. I mean I wasn't really signed to anyone just yet anyway back home.

Are you a gamer too then?

I'm familiar with it, though, I've never done it myself.

I am. I do some gaming content creation as a living, actually, but I'm not here to advertise myself. But it's definitely an option as a job as well.

It's worth a shot, at least. You'll never know unless you try, and there's always other options out there if it doesn't work out.

Strategy games are fun. I haven’t played very many but I like the challenge. Do you prefer turn based or real time?

Yeah, that's true. I don't see why I shouldn't try then.

It's a game? In the most basic terms each team has a goal they want to get the ball into while blocking the opposite team from getting a goal. You mostly use your feet to maneuver the ball.

I don't really have a preference. They both have their pros and cons.

As for your dilemma, you could seize the opportunity to try out a plethora of different things you never could before. You might surprise yourself by uncovering some new talents.

I'll have to figure out how to show what it is for those who don't know... I'm not sure if there's anyone to play with so it might be less interesting with just me.

You're right but that just leaves me wondering what I even want to try.

well yeah. I never said I don't have skills. it's about applicable skills.

I'd bet if you're willing to teach, there are plenty of people willing to learn.

You would need to get equipment first. Thankfully, the devices we got do work as a decent webcam and microphone, but to stream games you'd still need a way to capture them on stream.

Once you have that set up, you can always do "practice" streams by just recording videos offline to get yourself comfortable before the real deal.

I could try... I've never really taught anyone anything before. I'm not sure how good I'd be but it would be fun to get to play some.

Well, that's only if you're playing console games.

If you're playing the games through a computer or the devices, that isn't needed as much. Although it might be entertaining for some to see someone not use a capture card and do the old fashioned camera on the console screen...
