Well met. I must say this place is somewhat of an adjustment, but the basic idea of living and learning day to day interspersed with travelling to combat threats and save the world is one with which I am well acquainted. With that, I have a few questions for those who have been here longer than I:

1) Can anybody tell me about the local potion school? And what of the school of magic? I last attended a specialized school along similar lines, so these would likely be the closest to my experience, though I'll admit I have historically performed far better in other classes than magic...

2) The Darkness. What does it do, other than menace the world in general? Has it any effect on the places and things it has consumed, or that it once held that have since been freed? Is there a reason one cannot move past it -- is it a barrier one cannot pass, or simply that the Darkness harms or kills those who pass through?

3) Is it common here to encounter another realm's version of someone you have met in your own past? Someone who clearly is the same person, and yet in many ways is not, and does not know you?

4) Lastly... does anybody know how to care for a slime?

I must admit I am new to pet ownership in general, much less whatever it is this one needs. I have noticed it eats whatever I give it. I named it Francis. Please help.

1) I cannot but I hear they are welcoming of outworlders and have heard no complaints as to the status of their curriculum. They likely would allow you to observe for a day if you requested it.

2) The Darkness warps and corrupts the location and the creatures within it. Contact with the Darkness will cause a painful and, at this time, irreversible transformation into a corrupting being.

3) Yes, it is. The multiverse has many versions of us all and it seems to pull from all of them.

4) No as I have only battled them. Food and moisture is likely what it will need. And you will need to keep an eye on it to ensure it does not attempt to grow larger and eat other citizens of this world.

You have my thanks. So you also have met people from home who weren't the same. No one else seemed to have, but I will admit I haven't spoken to enough people yet for a reliable sample size...

Wait, the slimes here grow large enough to eat people?

Hm. I have. The multiverse seems to have many different versions of the same person that reside in it.

Yes, they can. I have battled some myself.

That... is concerning, but I suppose if the people are different, the monsters must be as well. Besides, it seems that everything exists out there somewhere.

I have never known a slime to be kept as a pet. Does it have an elemental alignment that you can see, or is it of some other origin?

I know not. It has yet to exhibit any powers. Can one tell by looking?

Where I come from, you would be able to tell at a glance. Are you familiar with this type of creature?

Unfortunately not. I am no beast tamer, I just got this from health class.

Oryou met someone with the same name as someone from home, but he's different.

Your slime looks tasty.

Only the same name?

One person fears the slime will eat people, the next wants to eat it... I would prefer if we all refrained from eating one another, personally.

He also knows other people with the same names. And has strange taste in food.

Oryou doesn't eat people's pets. She knows people get upset about that.

At least there is that, then...

A great deal of coincidence, or a case of drastically different versions of the same beings. What think you?

All of this with different universes is beginning to get horribly complicated.

It's only complicated if you think too much about it.

Because Oryou doesn't like to give herself headaches for no reason.
