If this adventure with chain mail has taught me anything, 'tis that many of us here are having our first exposure to the internet, with all its amusements and pitfalls included. Thus, I thought it might be nice to introduce another 'getting to know each other' game that some of us might not know yet. This one won't involve pictures or ratings of attractiveness, not to worry.

This game is called 'two truths and a lie'. The premise is simple. You list three statements about yourself, two true and one false. Ideally they should all be similar levels of unbelievable. Then, other people respond to you to guess which one is the lie. We all learn a little about each other and have a bit of fun.

That's a good guess, but incorrect.
Unfortunately, the culture I was raised in viewed relationships as something more like a contract or business deal.
Which is to say, emotion shouldn't play as much into it as the practicalities.

So, I never had relationships growing up or in the start of my adult years. I've since moved away to live in my mother's lands, and just haven't had the time to develop those sorts of relationships yet.

That sounds like a lot.
My home had some bad customs and superstitions but nothing quite like that.
I haven't really had a romantic relationship either but I just haven't really found the time.
and I've been figuring myself out
so I understand!

It was rather stifling. My family meant well by having me live there, they wanted to support my education, but it clearly became untenable.

Well, you have some time on your hands now, don't you?
If you find other women to be of interest, I wouldn't mind going on a date with you.
I'd like to get to know you more, and that seems like as good an excuse as any.

I suppose I've been more forward as of late.
Moving to my mother's estate was quite a culture shock.

Of course, I'm offering with no expectations.
If we go somewhere nice like a café or a garden and have pleasant conversation, I'll consider that time well spent.

[Fajra opens the video feed, revealing a woman with pointed ears, and dark horns that curved back like a ram's.]

[ The video springs into life a moment later. Bridget is wearing a large t-shirt and sits on her bed in her apartment, Roger tucked against her chest. Blonde hair, green eyes. ]

Hi! I'm Bridget! Your horns are cool.

Oh my, you're positively adorable!

[She smiles bright, taking in the sight of the rather casual woman. Fajra herself was wearing a button-up shirt and was reclining on a chair in her apartment.]

Thank you, it's lovely to meet you, Bridget. I have a pair of wings as well, but it's easier to get around inside by leaving them hidden.

Ehehe. You're way too nice!

[ Bridget accepts the compliment with good grace, though. And only a little blushing. ]

Oh wow! Wings, too? A lot of people here have that kind of thing, I've noticed.

I simply speak the truth.

[Her blush was cute, too.]

Oh, really? In my case, that comes from my mother's side of the family. She, and by extension I, are demons. Although I've discovered that word means very different things to people from other worlds.

Yeah. I think they mean different things for different people, maybe? I met a girl who said she was the Devil.

She's cool.

Hmm, I've never heard of someone being "the" Devil. It would be like someone saying they're "the" Man.

[Which is close to That Man, but even by Fajra's standards Guilty Gear lore would be bonkers.]

In my case, the short version is that a group of mages thought they could take over the world by creating an army. Except they failed when not only did the denizens and gods fight back, but also many of the very creatures they created.

I'm a descendant of those original demons.

Mmm. Maybe? That's what she said, though.

[ Bridget shrug, slumps forward a little to rest her chin on Roger's head. ]

Wow. That sounds like a lot. I'm glad you were able to like, get away from that past? Someone forcing you to hurt people is really gross. Especially because you seem really nice.

Yes, I imagine it was rough for those original demons. However, that was a long time ago. Some of them are still alive today, but they're quite old even by the standards of demons.

[It was practically the realm of myth now.]

Now, our biggest problem is that some people treat demons as a betrayal waiting to happen.

[She lets out a sigh before smiling warmly.]

Everyone I have met here has been very accommodating, though. I've met many lovely people, and I'm excited to get to know them more.

I guess I'm one of those, huh?

[ Bridget says with an embarrassed laugh. ]
