If this adventure with chain mail has taught me anything, 'tis that many of us here are having our first exposure to the internet, with all its amusements and pitfalls included. Thus, I thought it might be nice to introduce another 'getting to know each other' game that some of us might not know yet. This one won't involve pictures or ratings of attractiveness, not to worry.

This game is called 'two truths and a lie'. The premise is simple. You list three statements about yourself, two true and one false. Ideally they should all be similar levels of unbelievable. Then, other people respond to you to guess which one is the lie. We all learn a little about each other and have a bit of fun.

I am. She makes great soup.

I'm not human either, so I think we bonded a bit over that. My not being susceptible to her charm helped some.

Ah, we bonded for similar reasons. She was also thankful to have someone to remind her to "eat" when she has to.

It is admittedly not within my experience, as far as not feeling that particular drive, but I'm happy to help a friend in need. Especially if it's as simple as reminding her to tend to her needs.

If you're not human, would you mind me asking what you are exactly?

Feeling that drive is more in my realm of experience, admittedly. But I can understand feeling less than enthusiastic about something that feels like an obligation.

I'm... the name if my species isn't familiar to most people, so I usually say I'm a vampire. But I have very little in common with the ones from stories.

I see. I've met vampires before. A form of magics meant to stave off death, created in a myriad of ways.

If you're not like them much, what is the connecting factor? Something to do with blood, I imagine?

Drinking blood to survive. That's about the only similarity. No magic involved, nor being undead.

Ah I see, well if you ever want to tell me more about your people, I fancy myself a quick study.

How often do you need to drink blood?

There's not a people to speak of, exactly. We don't have family structures in the way most others do, and there were only ever a handful of us. Territoriality runs strong in my species.

It depends on where in my life cycle I am, and what I've been doing for activity how often I need to feed.
