video; un: reiner
[ The video begins with Reiner (tall, blond, handsome, serious-looking) standing in front of a small curio shop with various stone and wood sculptures on display in the window. The sculptures are all well-made and unique, clearly created by hand. ]
Hey, everyone. For those who don't know me, I'm Reiner Braun. I've been here for a long time. And I'm here to announce the grand opening of my shop.
[ He pans up to show the sign: BraunSphere. ]
I'm selling little trinkets and stuff. I'm also selling amulets with defensive properties. Only defensive; don't ask me about offensive enchantments.
[ He pans the camera back down, showing off the merchandise in the window. It's quite an impressive display! ]
If you find something you like but it doesn't quite suit, I do take custom orders. And if you like Amberfall and you'd wanna work at a place like this, let me know. I'm hiring. Full or part-time, your choice.
Thanks.

Mm, I definitely suggest it. Like I said - my mom ran a shop just like this.
She had a whole wall done up with teas, sold it loose leaf so folks could just buy a bunch 'n take it home.
Crystals, too. Those sold good-good; you keep'em in a big ol' barrel by the door, write up a list of meanin's or whatever, folks eat it up.
[He was always helping out at that old shop once his mom passed, so he's got a lot of knowledge on how to run these things!
Is it good knowledge? Debatable. But it's knowledge!]

[ Reiner rubs his chin, thinking. ]
I've been working on gem creation. Once I master that, I should be able to create any crystal or gem I can think of. I'll have to do some research, though. Look up meanings…
You wouldn't happen to remember any, would you?

Amethyst's good for dreams 'n calmin' down; ya stuff it under your pillow for good dreams, I guess. Citrine helps ya make money. 'S a good luck rock, but for money-stuff only.
And, ehh... pretty sure quartz does everything? Clear quartz, the glass-lookin' stuff.
[Hang on, thinking, thinking...]
- Wait, no, one more. Obsidian's good for protection.
That one I know for sure; we used it back in the land o' the dead, enchanted that shit up with shield magic.
Can't promise the rest actually work, but obsidian, for sure.
no subject
Obsidian. [ Reiner nods firmly. ] I can make that and enchant it. If it's as good as you say, it should make the enchantments stronger.

Bounces back magic.
Or, at least, 's how it worked back home.
[Both among the dead and the living; obsidian mirrors are a classic in gem shops for a reason, nowadays!]

Get practice with that magic, and you get more stuff to sell that folks'd like.
Win-win!
[Though, he does pause like that's given him something to consider.]
... You make stuff with metal over there?
no subject
Do you have something in mind?
no subject
[Which means pausing the video on his end for a moment, though when he starts it back up again, it's with the camera centered on...
Statues?
Statues of animals, namely, all made out of scrap metal, not too unlike this. Lots of them are dogs, and none of them are all too big; desktop sized statuettes.]
... These things interest ya?
You don't gotta pay me for'em, I ain't lookin' to sell'em - they just... takin' up space.
I used to run a garage down in Solarpeak, but I lost the license to it when I got sent home for a while, so... I got nothin' to do with all the projects I was gonna sell over there.
They filled up the basement fast-fast.

… The eye that looks just like a certain drawing Evangeline showed him.
Reiner blinks, a connection clicking into place. This must be Chipp, Evangeline's boyfriend. And if Evangeline likes him… ]
… I'll tell you what. Why don't you come into the shop and see if you like the place? If you do, we can talk about me selling them for you.
no subject
[He thinks on that for a second, though.]
... But I guess it'd lemme bring one in so you could see it in person, at least.
Send me the address?
no subject
[ Reiner sends over BraunSphere's location in Amberfall. ]
What's your name?
[ Just so he knows he jumped to the right conclusion. ]
no subject
Call me Chipp. Sorry, shoulda introduced myself earlier, huh?
no subject
[ Very little; he'd like to know more!! ]
I'll see you soon, yeah?
-> action;
But he answers with a simple nod and a -]
Yup. Be right there.
[- before hanging up.
And it really doesn't take him too long to get there at all, considering it's in the same district where he lives.
Chipp's cautious about opening the door, just because he's not sure if he's meant to be invited in personally or not...
But man, he's a weird one.
Thanks to Reiner's own height, only half a foot shorter than Chipp, it's safe to say he doesn't go bonking his screen on the doorway walking inside (thankfully) but his TV antennae do manage to scrape the inside of the doorframe as he wanders into BraunSphere properly.
Big ol' cloak dusting the floor, boots with spurs jingling underneath it, and a metal clawed hand that comes up to pat his antennae down flat.
(At least it's probably easy to see why Evangeline likes him...)
Floating in behind him, held in the air via magic, is one of those dog statues, cute and curled up like it's meant to be sleeping.
Seeing the owner of the store himself, though, a smile spreads on that screen of his and he lifts his hand in a little wave.]
Bonjour! This place even nicer in person; you got the vibes down pat, for sure.
no subject
Thanks, [ Reiner says, coming out from behind the counter. ] I wanted it to be a place I enjoyed working.
[ He offers a hand in greeting. Polite, but also an offer of touch energy. As unperturbed by that clawed metal hand as everything else. ]
It's nice to meet you in person.
no subject
"Horror movie set in the desert" vibe.
Despite it, though, he's more than happy to take that hand for a good, firm handshake. His hand is as warm as any other person's might be, even though it's made of metal.]
Good to meetcha, too! Always happy to meet friends of Eveé's.
She ain't toldja nothin' embarrassin' 'bout me, did she?
[It's a joke, he's joking -
... Mostly. He's not even sure what kind of embarrassing things Evangeline would have to say about him, really...]
no subject
No, nothing embarrassing. She mentioned that you're her boyfriend. I've been eager to meet you.
[ And see if any shovel talks were in order… But Chipp seems like a decent guy so far. ]
Can I see your creation?
no subject
But that warmth is definitely something Chipp notes for himself; his metal hand can't feel much, but warmth is something he made sure it'd be able to sense, with how much molten metal he deals with back home.
And warm hands just feel... friendlier, somehow.]
Awww, she already talkin' 'bout us, huh? Guess I ain't too surprised; she seems real jazzed about the whole thing!
And ouais, yeah, of course -
[That magic of his will swing the little statue around for Reiner to take and look at, holding it in the air for him otherwise.
It almost looks like there's no soldering to it - as if all the scrap metal that went into it just melded together somehow. Everything's clean and precise down to the smallest detail... even including how much rust he's taken off some of its parts.]
Cute li'l guy, ain't it? Figured you'd wanna see one o' the small ones first; they'd be easier to sell than the big ones.
no subject
I'm not expert, but this looks fantastic. I'd be happy to help you sell them.
no subject
[From the grin on his screen, he seems surprised by Reiner's assessment - surprised, but pleased, too.]
... 'S only so good 'cause I got the magic for it, though. Magic from home.
Powerful shit, lets me mold this stuff like clay.
[Just for funsies, he'll show the other what he means - violet light collects around the little dog statue, and just as if it were as soft as dough, he's able to use his hands to pinch its ears into a longer, floppier shape.]
Without this, prolly just look like a heap of scrap 'n solder. It'd still look kinda cool, but, y'know... not 'zactly a dog.
no subject
Using magic doesn't make it any less creative. It just speeds things up. And it means your basement fills up a lot quicker.
[ He gives a knowing smile, then gestures to their surroundings. ]
I made these using my Autumn powers. It started as practice, then became a hobby. Now it's … sort of like a passion, I guess. I want to share them with people. So, I opened this place.
no subject
Creative, huh... he really feels like he's just making use of materials that can't be used otherwise, considering his statues are all made of scrap.]
O-ouais, I can tell you doin' real good at it...! 'S a good idea, givin' yourself a way to share ya passion with others.
It all looks nice, too. I feel like you gonna be a real hit 'round here, soon enough.
But, ehh... how're you with metal? Makin' stuff out of it, I mean; I figure you got the magic side down easy, enchantin' it and stuff.
no subject
It's still fairly new to me, [ Reiner readily admits. ] I haven't played with metal as much, so I don't have anything on display.
But I can do custom orders in metal. I can create the metal itself, too, so you don't have to worry about imperfections.
no subject
I know you gonna want a cut of the profits, 'course, 'n that works pretty good as a payment, but, y'know -
Until you feel confident with your own metal shapin' abilities, you can bring stuff to me, 'n I'll shape it for ya. If ya want, I mean; just an offer.
[Mostly because Chipp is, perhaps, too nice and not used to this kind of generosity, even with the knowledge that they'll be sharing profits.
But that's also followed by a short pause in thought.]
... Might wanna buy straight-up metal offa ya someday, too. Most o' the material I get is from junkyards 'n thrift shops, y'know how it is.
