I'll start.

Back where I'm from, it's normal for a group of people to be segregated from the rest of the population because of our ancestor's deeds. It's also normal for that group to be able to turn into Titans.

That said, magic is completely unheard of. So is a lot of the technology here.

That's still messed up. I know they did some really bad things, that's what Frieda-chan told me, but no one deserves to get hated like that. That was the whole point of going "we don't wanna hurt people now," right?

Unfortunately, the rest of the world didn't get that message. They still see Eldians as a threat. Those of us who didn't retreat to an island have to spend every day trying to prove we're good.

I don't know how or why that kinda thing even happens. No one's born evil, or just better than anyone else.

I was taught that some people ARE born evil. That they're devils. That was considered "normal," too.

It took me a long time to realize it was wrong.

Yeah. But that's how it is.

Eldians in one place are taught that Eldians in a different place are evil.

I guess so. But for me, growing up like that was normal. Weird, huh?

I'm aware that others find it creepy. I have no real reason to be as nostalgic for it as I am, other than my world being gone.

Thing that's normal at home... I think just being safe. People aren't dying all the time, people get to be happy and have fun. I know it's not perfect and there's still war and stuff in some places, but people work hard to fix that.

Oh! But lots of things here would be special at home! Like the artificial weather in Nightwake district! That's cool that the Research Centre picks the weather!

Religion is a large part of my country back home. While it does no longer hold as much control over our affairs, it is still a signicant part of it.

I find it strange how this place does not seem to have religion. I have not heard talk of gods of any sort.

Huh, that's true. There's been cults and stuff, one was evil but they're gone now and they thought the Darkness was good? One thought the world was gonna end and then it didn't. But I think most people here practise... what's it called, animalism? That's not it. Stuff with spirits and the four seasons.

There's USUALLY a lot less murder here.

We'd have large-scale incidents and disasters sometimes, but come to think of it
when those kinds of things happened
there'd be big dramatic efforts to save the day. And it'd usually turn out okay-ish? Or at least not the worst.

I think the thing that I’ve found the most incredible here is how everyone is just… taking care of each other? The way that we get given a place to live and food to eat for free when we arrive, until we find our feet here, and then how easy it is to just be able to… live, I suppose? Where I come from, it’s harder to earn your keep. Me and my brother and all my friends, we were fortunate, because we’re skilled adventurers, mages, fighters, the like, but… Some people starve. Some people can’t go treasure-hunting, or they can’t work a farm, or they can’t lay bricks in the city, or serve a rich family — and they just die.

S-sorry, I don’t mean to be morbid or anything…! I was just struck by how well everyone is treated here. I wish everyone back home took care of each other like this, too.

I understand some of that. But instead of fighters, mages, and adventurers, we got vampires, werewolves, mages, fairies, and monster hunters.

but I get what you mean. People here care and put in more effort to make sure others are okay.

Right, exactly! And don’t get me wrong, there were people like that back home too, but it really was just down to luck — if you ran into someone kind, they would help you, and if you didn’t… Well… So I’m really glad that here it’s a more organised effort.

Oh! We have fairies and monster hunters at home, too! Um, our fairies are actually a lot like the phones here — they’re little familiars we use to communicate across long distances! But I don’t think that’s very common, or maybe I’ve just been unlucky, because every time I mention it I get weird looks, ahaha…

Most people in my world are the latter of the two.

What cute fairies. Nothing like the ones in my world. The ones in my world make a habit of kidnapping people, changing them, and leaving false copies behind so no one ever suspects a thing. Very different fairies.

Oh! Oh dear. We have a fair number of monsters that can shapeshift or pretend to be people, but you mainly find them in dungeons, so they're not really a common concern... I don't think I would like it very much if I had to deal with your kind of fairies.

Trust me, most everyone from my world feels the same about our fairies.

Though just for transparency. I am technically a fairy but I don't do that. The whole kidnapping thing. Not my style.

Why would I tell you what the bad ones are like only to deny being one if I am? You would know my MO, my schemes, my overall plan.

Rather, I did it as a means of showing I am not indeed like the ones I described. I don't steal people.

I make deals for favors. And the occasional soul.

I... suppose that sounds reasonable... Still, I am all too familiar with entities who deal in favours of the sort you'd give up your entire soul for. Where I come from, we call them demons, and when one bargains with them, disaster follows.

I've devoured my share of demons too. So I get that.

Thing is, people have to willing give up their souls. More often than not, I ask for favors. Small things for someone to do for me. Things I can't do myself, because of the rules of this world and my titles.

Ooo. I love this idea.

So something that is normal at home and weird here is the fact that vampires feed on people, werewolves exist and hunt spirits and sometimes eat people, and there is a machine god that controls the world through secret plans and cultish followers. So weird here that I haven't seen anything like that being treated as normal.

It's wild.

Normal back home but weird here...

There are a lot of things here that are similar to things I know from back home, but sometimes 'not quite' the same. Even some of the creatures here are familiar.

Back home, it's possible to summon a being based on strongly held belief. It's not a common thing, but under the right circumstances it can happen... I'm kind of glad that doesn't happen here.
