How do you flirt?

I'm not supposed to talk about it! I mean, sure, sometimes you recognize people from games or anime or something, but that doesn't make them not real, and people will probably get upset, so I have to not say!

[ It’s not a problem he’s ever had himself, but he can see how that might happen. Interesting, though... What are the odds that the person he’s talking to is a witch, and apparently a fairly powerful one at that? It seems unlikely, but at the same time he can’t find any other explanation for why they would recognise people in this world as characters from stories, even if only some of the time. It’s somewhat concerning — but very interesting. ]

In that case I guess probably just talk to them a lot. Maybe try to touch them; don’t go straight for the goods, though, just kinda sit close to them, lean on them a bit, pat their arm — that kind of stuff, you know? Don’t force it, just take a chance if you get one naturally.

Huh... That sounds pretty easy. I kinda do that a lot already! Maybe I am always flirting, then, huh... but then how do I let them know I mean it?

Do you also tell people a lot that they look good and that you want to take them out on a date? Because those were going to be my next suggestions, but if you already do that, then that does sound to me like you’re just flirting all the time and I should be asking you for advice and not the other way round, ihihihi…!

There’s probably some number of dates after which you are definitely dating if you keep going on more dates, but I have no idea what that number is. Three, maybe? I feel like if you’ve been on three dates then surely you’re dating, right?

Anyway, you’re welcome! If it makes you feel any better, I’m still kind of bad at this, but I still managed to get the girl I love, so I don’t think you need to be all that good at flirting to succeed at it, you just have to do your best!

I dunno, there's at least one person I definitely wasn't dating no matter how many dates we went on. But then again, he kinda had a problem before with another friend-but-the-kind-of-friend-you-do-stuff-with deciding they were dating when she caught feelings, and then being mad when they weren't, so yeah, it was probably a good thing I ended up going "wait, I don't think this person is gonna want me anyway when they could have someone more like what they want." And then they did get someone like that! So everyone got to be happy!
