[NPC Post] Important Information

[Helene is sitting in her office at the Research Center, wearing her regular work clothes, which is a neat suit. Her expression is neutral.]

Hello. My name is Helene and I'm the leader of the Research Center. I'm making this post to address some events and people that have come up as of late.

[She holds up a small vial.]

Firstly, after months of research and tests, we have finally found a way to reverse the effects of vampirism for those who were turned last year. It's not an instant cure, but a series of treatments. How long you'll need to take it depends on the individual.

Unfortunately, the treatment isn't without side effects. Most common ones are pain, fever and even more intense urges to drink blood. This is the vampire side fighting back against the cure or rejecting it, but this doesn't mean it will fail. We will do what we can to ease any side effects for you, of course.

This works only on those who were turned in Ellipsa by the vampires of this world.

[She puts the vial away and the gets to the second matter.]

Last month many of you participated in the Flow Experiment Mecha Suit Mission. However, some of you were dragged into a peculiar space before the mission started that was not part of the experiment. Even people outside of the mission were affected.

This is completely the fault of one of our employees and he's being punished as we speak. However, we take responsibility for this and offer a compensation of 25,000 Moon Coins to anyone who was dragged into things against their will. It's the least we can do.

[She lowers her head as an apology.]

Speaking of the mission, we have received your samples and are working on examining them in special laboratories. Thank you for all of your effort and we will keep you informed of anything important we find. Due to the nature of the samples it will take time but we are confident it will help us better to fight against dark energy.

[Then her expression turns more serious.]

I am also aware that many of you witnessed a woman in the middle of the Darkness. Herakles has confirmed her identity as "The Scientist", one of the seven - now six - members who are a threat to this world. Due to her appearance, I'm going to tell you about what we know about all of them - including parts told to us by Herakles.

This is one big story.

First it needs to be said that each person mentioned has the ability to manipulate and even generate dark energy and it's more than likely they are all corrupted by said energy. This ability was given to them by their leader with no regards to their health. All of them also have three different abilities, some gifted and some their original.

The leader of the people is called The Pierrot. No one knows about them a lot, but it was them who instigated the Tragedy of Greed. One of their skills is the ability to grant people powers but also take them away. It is unknown if they can give someone else's abilities to another. According to Herakles they're the most dangerous one of the remaining group.

Herakles joined our cause. He has told me that I have permission to tell you about his abilities and why he was part of the group. He joined the Pierrot to save his own world, a Portal Dimension. However, learning the method is to destroy another world, he wanted to leave and protect us instead. His abilities include powerful enchantments, illusions and having twelve lives.

The Doctor we have in our custody. He possesses a strong mind, which is why we haven't been able to dive into it or wake him up. According to Herakles two of his skills are dream manipulation and mind control, but he's unsure of the third.

The Scientist. As her name suggests, she's big on doing experiments, which include the fusions we saw in the Darkness and some previous monsters we've seen, such as the Vampirebear. We have a suspicion she was responsible for the Abandoned Mansion's monster as well. Surprising no one one of her abilities is Monster Fusions, but according to Herakles she's also good at technomancy and alchemy. She was responsible for the trap set up at Crystal Mines.

The Wizard and The Knight come from the same world, apparently. Herakles doesn't know much about them other than that they usually do everything together. What we know about The Wizard is that he was the reason the Fairy Queen was kidnapped and the mermaids and sirens were at war. He's also been appearing with The Scientist quite often.

The Wizard can shapeshift and also use necromancy. Meanwhile the Knight has shown that he has incredible strength.

Icarus is a new recruit like Herakles, but something went wrong with the darkness manipulation ability immediately when she got it. Because of this she's been in isolation until her 'mind settles'. This is also the reason Herakles doesn't know a lot about her, other than she definitely didn't look a lot like a human when he last saw her in passing.

We will be adding all of this information into the Guild Database.

I handed in a file to Olwen to give to the Research Centre, since you now know it's probably technomancy that was used on it, can it be used in reverse to try and locate The Scientist?
