I'll make this brief.

I'm asking those from other worlds to share any skills you believe would be beneficial in exploration and threat mitigation.

It seems that exploring the Seasonal Segments and discovering the mysteries behind their threats is key to facilitating the return to our worlds. For this reason, it's imperative that we assemble exploration groups of diverse skill sets. Which is the point behind this post.

Also to seek someone who might be able to build a database for storing this information and sorting it to help people form effective groups.

Know this, I'm not going to demand people share if they do not wish to. If you feel confident you can form your own group, that's your choice.

Aside from that, I suppose this is where I seek those who don't mind touching a large predator animal.

Namely, how it is that you are only the wolf "at times". Also that I should like to learn your name in return. [It's only fair.] Regardless, so long as there is no danger, I cannot see an issue with assisting in this.

You can call me wolf.

And there's danger with any unknown encounter. That's just a fact.

A fair point. To clarify, I mean that as long as the wolf, whether it is you or not, is generally well-behaved. Also, if I may, you did not answer my first question.

Perhaps it would be better to see for myself. [It's not phrased like a question but you know what he means.]

It depends on my mood.

[ Is that an answer for one of the questions or both? Hmmm. ]

If you wish. I would prefer sooner rather than later.

((Whatever is easiest for you! Just know that as a wolf, he can't talk unless you have some ability that allows you telepathy or animalspeech.))

[So "Wolf" likes being vague. Words are one thing, but seeing that Wolf is actually like is another. Aymeric makes a choice that some might think reckless, but really, that's not that unusual. In the worst case scenario, at least he'll bring his sword.]

Very well. I am ready now to meet you at your earliest convenience.

((Aymeric does not have any such abilities lol. I guess they just wing it? That's what body language is for. And this is just a petting session, right?))

[Some time later, Aymeric shows up at that very park. Though wearing his usual armour and carrying his sword, he doesn't carry himself with aggression. He makes his way into the park, blue eyes scanning the surroundings for this "Wolf". Who is a wolf. Sometimes? He's still a bit confused. But for now, he's cautious but confident, making his approach one step at a time.]

Yeah, it's the easiest place to frequent when you want quiet.

[ Upon arrival, a pony-sized black wolf will be seated patiently, watching passersby for anyone who appears to be searching for someone. He notices the armor and sword immediately. While Aymeric had described himself as skill in combat, he hadn't expected him to just carry his weapon around. (Though, to be fair, it's not like he doesn't do the same thing. Just in less obvious fashion.)

He gives a loud bark to catch the man's attention. ]

[borelblue]

[The bark catches Aymeric's attention. And its source is hard to miss at that size. He makes his way over. Once in front of "Wolf", he bows neatly.]

You are the one calling themselves Wolf, I presume?

[badsunrising]

[ The wolf nods slowly to ensure the movement is seen. He nudges over his cell phone to show the last message he sent to Aymeric just to be sure. ]

[borelblue]

[Aymeric sees the phone and nods to himself. He's at the right place, with the right person. His eyes turn back up to Wolf, and he offers a polite smile.]

Then again, well met. Is there a particular spot where you would prefer I pet you?

[badsunrising]

[ The wolf pauses, tilting its head slightly in confusion. He's never considered whether he has a preference before. Then again, allowing anyone to pet him is a rare occurrence. He decides to keep things simple and carefully steps forward, lowering his head before the man. It's a risky move toward someone he doesn't know, but he's confident of his speed should anything unexpected occur. ]

[borelblue]

[And Aymeric, in turn, is taking a risk with this - with meeting up with a stranger in the form of a large predator and petting them. But he wouldn't have achieved all that he had without risk, for better or for worse.]

[They are both taking a risk. Aymeric intends to see that it's worth it in the end.]

[Wolf lowers their head to him. He reaches out and begins slowly, softly, running his hand from the brow to between the ears.]

I hope that this will be sufficient. Admittedly, I am more accustomed to a cat. Of...standard proportions.

[ It's still better than doing this in human form, that's for sure. He allows himself to close his eyes at the touch. It does feel different than back home. A short of soothing sensation, like waking up refreshed after a short nap.

The comment about a cat pulls a coughed sound from him that could be a laugh. ]

[That sounds like a good sign. Aymeric smiles, almost laughing a bit himself. Otherwise, he pets Wolf in silence for a time. A part of him wants to attempt polite conversation; he has to keep reminding that part of him that conversation of any kind isn't quite possible right now.]

[But, still, this isn't so bad.]

[Eventually, Aymeric dares to try scritching behind Wolf's nearest ear. Dogs and cats both like that, right?]

[ He does actually REALLY like it and even gives a content grumble, complete with a soft raise and drop of his tail. ]

[borelblue]

[Oho! He has achieved: Tail Wag. Aymeric continues that. After a moment, he asks - ]

Will this be sufficient? Is there aught else that you need?

[Hopefully, Wolf can answer that somehow.]

((Is there anything else you want to have them do?))

[badsunrising]

[ He shakes his head in the negative, doing it slowly so it can be easily read. ]

((I'm good with however you want to proceed. He'll probably thank him in some way if Aymeric considers his task complete.))

[With one last stroke, and a hearty pat-pat, he finishes petting Wolf.]

I would take my leave then. Since we part alive and unharmed, I am amenable to assisting you again if need be. Hopefully you will one day reveal to me how you are sometimes a wolf. Or at least, your name.

((Cool cool. If you want we can handwave that they meet up sometimes?))

[ The wolf gives a long drawn-out yawn at the request for revelation, as if missing the comment entirely. But he does brush lightly against Aymeric as he gets up to leave first and gives him an obvious glance before trotting away. ]

((Oh, I would like to tag Aymeric again sometime with his human form. :3 Whether he will share his secret, it depends on how things go. Or if Aymeric figure it out. XD))
